Southern Coast of Crimea: list of cities. Southern coast of Crimea: features of recreation Message about the southern Crimea

The long-awaited summer is getting closer, for most it is the holiday season. And all of us, probably, are attracted by the warm salty sea. In recent years, more and more tourists are again choosing Crimean resorts for recreation. And there are many of them! With a variety of conditions: in the Crimea there are mountains and plains, areas with dry and humid air, sandy and pebbly beaches, noisy resort towns and quiet small villages ...

In our review, we will recall the most popular holiday destinations in the Crimea. There are excellent options for both a "wild" holiday and a more comfortable one; both for parents with children and for youth companies - choose!

So, first we will go to the southern coast of Crimea. And of course, you need to start with its pearl - the exquisite and most interesting Yalta.

Yalta

Actually, Yalta is now the center of an entire resort area, which includes nearby villages, although we will talk about the city. Yalta, leading its history from the very beginning of our era, is full of unique historical monuments. Thanks to the unique salubrious climate and beautiful landscapes, back in the days of Tsarist Russia, it became the most famous resort, even a symbol of luxurious rest, as evidenced by the nearby famous Livadia, Yusupov and Vorontsov palaces, the Swallow's Nest fortress and others.
Since Yalta is the largest city on the southern coast of Crimea, there is a developed infrastructure here: many cafes and restaurants, shops and entertainment centers, a zoo and a water park.

" This is a resort for those who choose comfort and seek to get acquainted with the sights. There will definitely not be a shortage of excursions and hikes in Yalta: not far from the Massandra wine factory, and to the Uchan-su waterfall, Nikitsky botanical garden ...

At the same time, Yalta is the most expensive Crimean resort, and during the peak season it is very crowded. In addition, the beaches are not very conveniently located, and the descent into the water is most often steep.

Alupka

allkrim.com

A satellite of Yalta, Alupka is a "record holder" in the number of palaces and mansions built on its land about a hundred - two hundred years ago. The most famous of them, of course, Vorontsovsky. Another pearl of Alupka is the huge Vorontsovsky (Alupka) park, which is already about two hundred years old, and where hundreds of species of trees and shrubs grow.

" Although there are not so many entertainments here, in terms of the beauty of nature, Alupka is probably the champion among the Crimean resorts. Once upon a time, houses were built right along the mountain paths, and from the steep streets of the city center there is a wonderful view of the coast.

Alupka, like all the satellites of Yalta, is also more of a resort for a comfortable stay.
In addition, Mount Ai-Petri protects the city from the cold wind, the climate here is mild, and the beaches are for every taste. There is a free city beach, there is a beach "Children's baths" with the purest water, there is a convenient "Azure" beach for motorists. In addition, you can relax on the "wild" beaches, because the city stretches along the sea for 4 kilometers, and there are many places for swimming.

Gurzuf

photosight.ru

This resort village, located in a cozy bay ten kilometers from Yalta, is distinguished by pebble beaches, unlike most of the surrounding sandy ones. True, you will have to go down to the sea along rather steep slopes.
Another of its characteristic "signs" are two rocks protruding from the sea, Adalary, a natural monument.

" And in the center of Gurzuf is the Genoese rock with the ruins of an ancient fortress - this area has a rich history, both Greeks and Khazars once lived here ...

Gurzuf is known for its famous vacationers - Chekhov, Korovin lived here, Mayakovsky, Chaliapin, Repin, Surikov visited here. Although now it is quite crowded (in season) place - there are many restaurants, shops and clubs - but the nightlife is not very active.
Gurzuf is also famous for its underwater world; it is a favorite place for divers. And from here you can climb to the highest point of the peninsula, Mount Roman-Kosh.

Foros

yuzhny-bereg-kryma.ru

The southernmost point of Crimea, the village of Foros is located 40 kilometers from Yalta. Foros is a fairly elite Crimean resort with an interesting seabed, a small-pebble beach, enclosed by huge rocks.

" Foros became especially famous in August 1991, when President Gorbachev and his family were held here, at his dacha. And in the 1930s, Gorky lived and worked here (the Soviet government gave the writer a dacha).

However, a relatively inexpensive vacation is also possible here, if you are lucky enough to find accommodation in the private sector or a mini-hotel. Foros is famous for its beautiful historical park, founded 200 years ago, with fountains, pavilions, bizarre plants. And yet - the Foros Church, as if hovering over the sea. Near the church, to which a mountain serpentine leads, there is an observation deck with an unforgettable view of the sea.

Simeiz

bestgid.com

Of the resorts on the southern coast of Crimea, Simeiz is perhaps the most democratic - the rest in the private sector is mainly developed in the village, it is quite calm here, there are no special attractions. Although the proximity to Yalta (18 km) makes it easy to get to the famous Crimean palaces and parks.

" It is very beautiful in Simeiz: cypress alleys, steep slopes to the sea, expressive Mount Koshka.

The climate here, as on the entire South Coast, is mild; all beaches are large-pebble. The most famous and beautiful beach is at Diva rock. You can rent snorkeling equipment. And next to the wild beach "Blue Bay" (it is, however, often visited by a nudist party) there is a water park.

In general, Simeiz is known as a youth resort: active sports games on the beach, diving, discos make it not the quietest place in the summer season. Prices in shops and restaurants are quite high here.

Alushta

crimea-media.ru

The peculiarity of this resort, which makes it very popular, is dry, warm and clean air, useful primarily for people with lung diseases. Alushta is also protected by a semicircle of mountains from cold winds, there are various beaches - both sandy and pebbly.
There are many boarding houses and hotels, private beaches and cafes - in a word, all the conditions for a comfortable, civilized and expensive holiday, although in general the prices here are lower than in neighboring resort towns and villages. In Alushta there is a wonderful terrarium-aquarium, and along the coast you can admire the famous Crimean vineyards.

"And there are many natural and historical sights around Alushta: Mount Kastel with the remains of an ancient fortress and Ghost Valley, Mount Chatyr-Dag and the Crimean Reserve with beech and pine forests, Bird Islands and the Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall ...

In a word, there is something to see! For those who want to see all the pearls of Crimea at once, an amazing park "Crimea in miniature" has been created in Alushta - you can feel like Gulliver!

Now we will move from the mountainous, most “civilized” southern coast to the steppe, flat western. Its shallow sandy beaches traditionally attract tourists with children. Most of the Crimean sanatoriums are also located here.

Evpatoria

crimeagood.ru

The most "healing" city of Crimea, and one of the oldest - people settled here already in the 6th century BC! Well, in Soviet times, Evpatoria (with its satellite city of Saki) became a center for recreation, especially for children: there are dozens of sanatoriums, water and mud baths. After all, Evpatoria has very warm water, a mild but rather hot climate, long, shallow beaches near the coast (about 14 kilometers).

Now in Evpatoria it is still convenient to relax with children. The prices here are relatively low, there are many entertainments - a dolphinarium, a water park (a real inflatable island), rental stations. As in any fairly large resort town, Yevpatoriya has a developed infrastructure, many shops and cafes, and also there are concerts of pop "stars".

"There is something to see in Evpatoria: you can walk around the ancient Old Town with its narrow streets, ride a tram. There is a Muslim monastery here, on the territory of which tourists are allowed, an Orthodox church; and in general in Yevpatoriya the most different confessions coexist.

Sevastopol

finwupstreetelectrics.tumblr.com

Although Sevastopol traditionally does not belong to the resorts and generally stands somewhat apart from the Crimean cities, nevertheless, there is the sea, beaches, hotels here - which means there are a lot of vacationers! By the way, here is the longest swimming season in the Crimea, it lasts from the end of May to the end of October.
Of course, since Sevastopol is a military port, the main base of the Black Sea Fleet, there are many monuments associated with its heroic history, for example, the Malakhov Kurgan memorial, the diorama “Storm of Sapun Mountain on May 7, 1944”.

" The most famous military attraction is the panorama of the defense of Sevastopol, dedicated to the war of 1855. And on the last Sunday of July, on the day of the Navy, a parade of warships takes place here, an almost real sea battle is played out.

Arriving in Sevastopol, it is impossible not to visit the remains of the ancient city of Chersonese, founded by the Greeks 25 centuries ago! By the way, it was here that Prince Vladimir of Kyiv was once baptized.
The Balaklava Bay is very beautiful, hidden in a secluded strait, always sheltered from the waves, with an embankment and small houses on the slope. And, of course, one of the pearls of Sevastopol is Cape Fiolent with the ancient St. George's Monastery, "hanging" over the sea.

Nikolaevka

load51.torrent-ports.ru

For those who want to relax in a quieter and more peaceful place, and not in noisy cities, this steppe resort village is the best fit.

" Nikolaevka is popular with both guests of Crimea and residents of its central part, since it is easy to get here (minibuses from Simferopol run regularly), prices here are low, and the warm sea and sandy beach are no worse than on the entire West Coast.

On the beach of Nikolaevka there are inflatable slides, and jet skis with "bananas". On the embankment - rides and slot machines. Discos are held in the center of the village, so vacationers with children are better off staying closer to the outskirts.
Well, if you want additional entertainment, you can go to the water park "Banana Republic" in half an hour's drive - there will be entertainment for every taste and age! And it’s not at all difficult to get to Sevastopol and Evpatoria, with their sights, from here.

Popovka

keybamcinatone.tumblr.com

Another small village near Evpatoria.

" This is one of the most ecologically clean places in Crimea, with dry salubrious air, minimum rainfall and wonderful beaches, one of the best on the peninsula.

A wide strip of fine white sand, clear water and shallow water near the coast - a real paradise for families with small children. The swimming season in Popovka is also one of the longest - from mid-May to October.
Popovka, which had neither entertainment nor special amenities a few years ago, has recently been rapidly developing, new boarding houses are being built, although prices here are still quite democratic. This is a good option for a quiet and budget family vacation.
The entertainment industry is also developing - you can fly a hang glider and ride a horse, slide down a water slide or rent a catamaran.

Eastern Crimea is a relatively less “resort” area than the elite South or the healing West. But the water here is usually warmer than on the South Coast, and there is something to see!

Kerch

autodori.ru

Kerch is not only a resort, it is a developed and beautiful port city. The Kerch Peninsula is washed by two seas at once - the Black and Azov, and you can plunge into both in one day! To relax closer to the beach, it is better to settle in the suburbs. Quiet calm sandy beaches, a minimum of noisy bars and discos - a great option for families with children. Well, the most interesting sorties will not be the case, in Kerch there is something to see.

"It was near the eastern part of Crimea in ancient times that many naval battles took place - there is a deep, convenient sea for navigation. Therefore, almost every city has the remains of ancient fortresses of the defenders of the peninsula.

There are even two of them in Kerch: Totleben and Yeni-kale, and they are located within the city - it is not difficult to get to them.
You can visit Mount Mithridates, where the obelisk of Glory is located, go down to the famous Kerch catacombs, and with kids even go to an ostrich farm.

Feodosia

2morya.ru

Another ancient maritime city founded in VI. BC. The ruins of fortresses and houses also remind of its turbulent history. However, Feodosia is primarily a popular resort, with several sandy-shell beaches with a total length of about 15 kilometers, very warm water and a developed tourist infrastructure. There are entertainment centers, restaurants, a dolphinarium and an amusement park.

"In addition, in Feodosia there is the famous art gallery and the Aivazovsky house-museum, as well as the Green Museum. Festivals are held, tours of famous artists - in a word, life is in full swing!

In Feodosia, you can stay both in the private sector and in campsites, boarding houses and hotels. For those who want a beach holiday, it is better, again, to look for options in the suburbs, closer to the sea. I must say that the prices here are not very high, and, due to the attractiveness of Feodosia for different layers of vacationers, the beaches are very crowded during the season.

Zander

crimee.com.ua

The sunniest place in Crimea! There are almost no cloudy days here in summer. The city is located in a valley, and you can get into it only along a steep mountain serpentine. Vacationers, in order to get to the sea, also have to make small mountain descents - the city descends steeply down the slope.
Pike perch is a champion and in one more - only here there are beaches with quartz sand. Beautiful mountain landscapes, more than a hundred species of fish and birds living here, a large beach, a well-preserved Genoese fortress of the 11th century ... All this makes little Pike perch very attractive for recreation, so during the season (by the way, it is relatively short here, from late June to early September ) it is crowded here, and the prices are quite high.

The town itself is very green, with cypress alleys and coniferous parks, unusually clean, coniferous sea air. There are many restaurants and shops, there is a water park.

" Festivals are held - the most famous are knightly fights with fencing, which are held right in the ancient fortress.

New World

crimeaplus.ru

This village is a neighbor of Sudak, it is only 5 kilometers away. He gained fame thanks to the factory for the production of champagne, founded here by Prince Golitsyn in the century before last. However, its favorable location in a closed bay, a long swimming season and extraordinary picturesqueness have made it a popular resort destination.

"The water in the three bays of the village has three different shades, and, having walked along the tourist "Golitsyn" trail, you can look into them ...

In a word, its old name "Paradise" (Paradise) speaks volumes.
Around the New World there is a botanical reserve with relict pines and junipers - you can walk and enjoy the healing air. By the way, the films "Amphibian Man" and "Treasure Island" were once filmed in the New World.
This resort is suitable for those who are not looking for entertainment, but want to admire the most beautiful nature, improve their health, and ... do not save money.

Koktebel

red43.ru

Historically, this is an exquisite, even somewhat aristocratic resort: low mountains around a valley gently descending to the sea, and below - a small village that has seen many famous writers and artists in the last century.

"Koktebel was a fashionable "dacha" place a hundred years ago: M. Voloshin lived here (and there is his house-museum), and Gorky, A. Tolstoy, Bryusov, Bulgakov visited him ...

Today, Koktebel is a predominantly youth resort. The prices here are quite high, although there is a wide choice of accommodation of different levels, from hotels to private rooms.
There are mountains here (Karadag reserve), and the steppe nearby; the village stretches along the sea itself, so Koktebel is the best place for lovers of hiking. The beaches here are narrow, but there is a choice between pebbly and sandy ones, and for extreme sports there is a special nudist beach nearby. The sea is warm and usually calm.

Although there are few entertainments in Koktebel - let's note the opportunities for diving, surfing, gliding, traditionally presented here - in the summer it can be very festive here: a number of youth festivals are held, the most famous of them is Jazz Koktebel. And in Koktebel there is a factory that produces vintage wines and cognac, you can get to the tasting.

Ordzhonikidze

crimey.ru

A neighbor of the famous Koktebel, the more modest village of Ordzhonikidze is suitable for an economical vacation option. Ordzhonikidze is located far from major highways, so it is quiet and relatively uncrowded.
Sandy beaches here are free (there are six of them!), Housing can be found in a variety of categories. From here you can walk to Koktebel, or you can ride a bike. The picturesque mountains surrounding the village are quite accessible for hiking and climbing.

Morskoye village on the southern coast of Crimea just west of Sudak stretched along the valley between the mountains along the Black Sea coast. Several thousand people live here, that is, this is a small settlement. As elsewhere in the south of Crimea, holiday season in Marine lasts a very long time and is characterized by high air and water temperatures. The sun almost never hides behind clouds, giving light and warmth to tourists for two and a half thousand hours a year. Sometimes even in October you can swim and sunbathe here.

The beauty of the mountain and sea landscapes of the resort is all the more striking because this is one of those places on the territory of the Crimean peninsula that have not yet been touched by civilization, and which still retained an absolutely natural, miraculous charm. The largest beach in the village with medium-sized pebbles is landscaped in those areas that belong to the territory of sanatoriums and boarding houses. There are booths, awnings, and fresh showers. But the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, largely due to the fact that two mountain rivers flow through the beach at once with water that is not very clean due to rain.

The choice of places to stay in Morskoye is incredibly rich - from chic stylish hotel rooms with a full range of luxury attributes to cloth tents by the very waves of the Black Sea. Accordingly, prices vary greatly, so there is a good option for almost any wallet. In Morskoye, in addition to standard beach activities such as catamarans, jet skis and scooters, horseback riding and sightseeing routes, you can go diving exploring the seabed or rush along the waves with a parachute after a motor boat. And it is clear that, like any resort town in the Crimea, it cannot do without shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and food markets.

Although this city is not a resort in the true sense of the word, nevertheless it is one of the most popular recreational areas in Crimea. In general, under this name it is customary to understand not only the city itself, but also such settlements as Inkerman, Kacha, Uchkuevka, Balaklava resort and several villages. The city, which is home to about four hundred thousand people, has a number of advantageously located bays where the water never freezes. That is why it has long become not only a seaport, a trading harbor, but also a base for the navy. And, of course, you can not ignore ancient history of Sevastopol and its status as a city-hero of the Great Patriotic War. Moreover, historical sights and architectural monuments preserved in Sevastopol attract tourists almost more than its beaches, among which there are both sandy and pebble ones.

Weather near Sevastopol stands for the most part the same as on the South coast. Summers are very warm, but not too hot, there is little rainfall, and the water is suitable for swimming from June to mid-September. The most visited are the long lines of beaches between Streletskaya Bay and Omega, as well as the central beaches of the city, and Pesochnaya Bay near the Chersonesos protected area. Most of the beaches have showers, cafes and rescue services, but there are also completely wild places where the coast line suitable for the sea is covered with stones or overgrown with grass.

For recreation in Sevastopol you can choose among a variety of hotels, boarding houses, campsites, sports facilities and residential buildings. The modern entertainment industry includes shops, a water park, water rides, a theater with dolphins and nightclubs. Surfing and diving schools are open to the greatest pleasure of athletes.

Privetnoe and Kanaka

In Privetnoye and Kanak very healthy microclimate without cold winds and sharp temperature fluctuations. Here, like nowhere else, you can fully enjoy the magnificence of the nature of the Crimea and relax away from the hustle and bustle of large cities and transport interchanges. The small pebble beaches of the resorts are very suitable for families with children, especially since they offer a wide range of water activities and attractions, as well as rental of sports equipment. Excursions to the Genoese fortress and trips to vineyards are organized, which Privetnoe resort deservedly proud.

Although holidays in these two villages are not as popular as in the more famous resorts of the Southern Crimea - like Yalta or Alushta, nevertheless, here you can find tourist complexes of the highest level. But most travelers still prefer mini-hotels, inexpensive comfortable boarding houses or cottages on the very seashore. Markets where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables, including the best varieties of local grapes, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes are easily accessible to all guests.

Malorechenskoye-Rybachye

Near Alushta in the Crimea, at a very short distance from each other, there are several cozy villages with a mild and sunny climate and lovely landscapes of a mountain valley. The settlements of Malorechenskoye and Rybachye , as well as the town of Solnechnogorsk practically do not differ from each other, but at the same time, each of them has its own characteristics. Rybachye is a wider and more spacious, well-equipped resort area, but in Malorechensky will appeal to those who are looking for peace and solitude. Both villages boast attractions, such as a lighthouse temple on the edge of a steep cliff or the Bay of Love. Both villages are perfect for holidays with children - there is no transport, no manufacturing plants, no noisy entertainment - only greenery, sea, sun and an atmosphere of peace.

Spacious pebble beaches at both resorts are equipped with rental shops, showers, sunbeds and outdoor cafes. And a little further, outside the villages, a strip of wild beaches stretches, given to nudists and lovers of camping. Rybachye and Malorechenskoye offer sanatoriums, holiday homes and small hotels, various types of accommodation right next to the sea. In terms of service, the local hotels are in no way inferior to the most prestigious Crimean resorts and guarantee a truly unforgettable vacation.

Alushta

Alushta is an affordable and prestigious Crimean resort in the southern part of the Black Sea coast. In terms of importance and popularity, this city is second only to Yalta. For many years now, this resort has annually received any category of tourists, giving them the opportunity to spend time in accordance with their age and interests, having fun, improving their health and learning new things. Moderately humid climate formed with a mixture of sea and steppe air currents creates optimal conditions for recreation during the entire holiday season from May to October. There are a lot of sunny days a year, and the temperature of air and water stays steadfastly at the same pleasant mark. That is why in Alushta recommend to go as a patient with a variety of different diseases.

Another very important dignity of Alushta that encourages so many vacationers to choose it for their holidays is a very developed transport network. From here you can get to almost any place in the Crimea: large nearby cities of Yalta and Simferopol and small villages. Through Simferopol, there is a railway connection with Krasnodar and the south of Russia, there is also an international airport. Of course, it is very convenient for exploring the sights of the Crimea, so for those who love excursions, there is simply no better place than Alushta. In the Alushta there is also something to see: the Valley of Ghosts, geysers, caves, chains of waterfalls and rocks that delight with their beauty. The hotel and resort business in Alushta actively competes with affordable housing in the private sector, so vacationers always have the opportunity to choose.

Strip of Alushta beaches is about six kilometers long. For the most part, they are covered with small and medium-sized pebbles or sometimes dark-colored sand of a rather large size. All beaches are well equipped and completely safe even for small children. Resort life is constantly in full swing on the wide embankments of Alushta - it is here that most of the cultural and entertainment establishments, restaurants and retail outlets are concentrated. And although there are always a lot of people here, even in the midst of summer there is no feeling of unpleasant crowding and everyone can freely indulge in relaxation exactly the way he likes it best.

Partenit and Utes

At the feet of Ayu-Dag, at some distance from Alushta and Yalta, lies another the prestigious resort of the South coast - the village of Partenit . This is the very edge of the Alushta region, next to Cape Plaka. Thousands of tourists come here to sunbathe and swim, attracted by the stunning climate of the Southern Crimea. At this time, the well-groomed pebble and sandy beaches of the village are full of people, and a variety of activities such as diving, surfing, boating and jet skiing are extremely in demand. Those who do not like such fun can find a romantic retreat on the wild beaches of the blue lagoons under the Ayu-Dag mountain. Restaurants and cafes await customers in the village, travel around the neighborhood, supermarkets and a dolphinarium are offered, where you should go with children.

Near Partenit situated new resort called Utes with the unique architecture of modern high-rise hotels, standing almost right next to the coast. A cozy secluded place without a loud nightlife, conducive to relaxation and relieves accumulated fatigue. Natural pebble and artificial concrete beaches of Utes equipped with a convenient entry into the sea. And yet, to the delight of history lovers, it is in this small village that you can see the ancient palaces of Prince Yusupov and Countess Gagarina, framed by a magnificent park with southern tropical plants.

Gurzuf urban-type settlement , a little east of Yalta near the famous Ayu-Dag mountain, also known as the Bear Mountain, has long won fame as one of the best resorts on the Crimean peninsula. A wonderful Mediterranean climate with warm, but not too hot sunny days, lush and diverse vegetation on the picturesque mountain slopes, a swimming season from June to October, a huge park with shady groves, fountains and sculptures - this is the “visiting card”. Paid and free pebble beaches with stones of different sizes are located along the transparent clear sea. Most of the paid ones belong to sanatoriums and boarding houses, while city and municipal ones rent umbrellas, sun loungers, and showers. In some places there are beach cafes. During the season, as elsewhere on the South Coast, there is very little free space on public beaches. Therefore, many tourists prefer to take a boat to a more deserted coastline at the foot of the Ayu-Dag, where you can swim and sunbathe in the open.

Hotels, health resorts and rest houses are built up almost all embankment in Gurzuf. Private housing is rented out in two main urban areas - the old and the new. It is up to you to decide which type of accommodation is most suitable for your purposes. In the village, in addition to traditional types of attractions and entertainment on the water, tourists will be offered boat trips to Yalta and Alupka, as well as to the famous Swallow's Nest castle - the tourist pearl of the Crimean coast.

Yalta is the most famous and fashionable resort in the Southern Crimea , its tourist capital. The city is surrounded by a semicircle of high mountains, descending into a bay with unusually beautiful landscapes. The city is literally immersed in tropical greenery, which is so abundant here that if you look from a height, it seems as if buildings are scattered here and there among the continuous green carpet. In addition to the city itself, for more than seventy kilometers of the coast, the territory that is commonly called Big Yalta, which includes Gurzuf, Alupka and some other towns and villages, stretches. This must be remembered and always clarified when choosing a place to go on vacation.

If you want to choose the season when you will be guaranteed the most favorable weather in Yalta- it is better to go there in the so-called "velvet season", because here the period suitable for swimming begins later than in other places, as the water warms up longer. There are quite a few beaches in Yalta, but all of them are mostly private and belong to sanatoriums, hotels and boarding houses. There are free beaches, but they still have to pay for a sun lounger rental. In addition, as a rule, due to the number of vacationers, at the beginning of the day there is not a single free place left even to lay a towel. So if you want space and clean sea - pay attention to the vast coastal strip outside the city. But with regard to entertainment Yalta There is something to surprise your guests. There is a water park, a dolphinarium, a zoo and a botanical garden, a fantastic park-museum "Glade of fairy tales", with sculptures of fairy-tale heroes, which will not leave any child indifferent. In the summer season, well-known acting troupes give performances and concerts at the local theater. I have no shortage of Yalta in all kinds of restaurants, cafes and shops where you can make all the necessary purchases. So if you expect not only sunshine and sea bathing from a vacation in Crimea, then Yalta - resort just for you.

Simeiz

Charming Simeiz is a popular youth resort in the south of Crimea , which nestled comfortably at the foot of Mount Koshka on the territory of Greater Yalta. The bizarre relief of the Crimean mountains and the rocks sticking out of the water give it a very special beauty. On foot travel around Simeiz quite difficult - it is an endless chain of descents and ascents, steep mountain paths and slopes overgrown with coniferous relic forests. But how much fun you can get during such walks and what amazing photos you get! The beach season in this resort, as in the entire South Coast, continues until September. It is characterized by consistently hot summers with almost no precipitation with temperatures around 23-25 degrees and well-heated water.

The free pebble beaches of the village are crowded and therefore heavily polluted at the height of the season, but the sanatoriums and hotels take care of their private beaches very carefully, cleaning and landscaping them. So it's better to pay to get on one of them than to endure the inconvenience. But in the secluded bays of the Blue Bay, you can not only dive into the clear water from the rocks, but also dive with scuba gear or just take a good swim without pandemonium and din. There is also a water park with water slides, which is a kind of "highlight" that complements the usual range of Crimean beach fun provided to vacationers in almost every resort.

Foros

Speaking of Forose, it should be noted that this is the most southern of all the resort villages of Crimea. In addition to the developed infrastructure and the subtropical Mediterranean climate, it is known for its clean, well-groomed pebble beaches. By the way, Foros has always been liked by actors and musicians for its picturesqueness, evoking romantic thoughts and stimulating inspiration. On both sides of the resort I limit two high mountains, and in the center the third high point is created by the architectural dominant of the Foros Church - the main attraction of the village. In three tiers, a huge park descends to the sea with a delightful collection of rare plants and trees. In its fabulous groves with ponds and lakes, not only tourists, but also the residents themselves willingly rest.

All city beaches of foros are available to vacationers for free, and the main one is indented with countless coves with transparent blue water and has a completely wild, unkempt appearance. However, this "uncivilization" only makes it more beautiful. Near the shore in the water you can often see jellyfish, crabs and other marine life, which, as you know, usually appear only in very clear water. Private beaches of hotels, of course, are much better equipped - they have awnings, toilets, bars. Prices for accommodation and entertainment in Foros are on average no higher than along the entire southern coast. Water activities, excursions and discos are visited by vacationers very actively, and if this is not enough, you can go to Yalta, where it certainly will not be boring.

Balaklava

A unique corner of the Crimean coast, which is Balaklava, stretched out in the Balaklava Bay, one and a half kilometers long, one of the most beautiful in all of Crimea. Balaklava - a resort with a very ancient history , it was described by Homer in the poem "The Odyssey". Now it is a district of Sevastopol, which has long been adapted for sailing. Here you can see many private yachts gliding on the always calm surface of the azure water. The bulk of the Genoese fortress hangs over the exit to the bay, and flocks of dolphins often swim up to the shore - in a word, the place is absolutely fabulous. It is not surprising that there are so many tourists here, despite the fact that there are no beaches at all in Balaklava. But from here you will be taken by boat to the famous Golden, Silver, Middle, Jasper and other beaches outside the resort. All the way you will be able to admire the breathtaking panorama of the coast from the sea.

Until recently in Balaklava it was impossible to find any hotels or sanatoriums, because this city was completely non-tourist. But then several good rest houses and small hotels with decent service were built, and private housing continues to be in demand. As entertainment, walking and water excursions to Cape Fiolent, and the "Lost World", an inspection of the Cembalo fortress and a visit to the Cold War Museum are organized. After long and interesting trips, a great end to the day will be dinner at one of the many fish restaurants on the waterfront.

This part of the Crimean peninsula has long been called briefly - the South Coast, and everyone immediately understands that we are talking about the southern coast of Crimea, a narrow strip of the Black Sea coast from Cape Aya to Mount Kara-Dag, which is not far from Koktebel. It is called southern by its geographical location, but this name has long been overgrown with other meanings: the warmest and most beautiful!

About geography and climate

From the north, the south of Crimea is limited by the Main Range of the Crimean Mountains, which protects the coast from northern winds; from the south it is washed by the Black Sea, which regulates heat: in winter it warms the air, and in summer it brings coolness. Thanks to such a relief, the climate of the Southern coast of Crimea is favorable for plants, which make it healing: in the forests of the Crimean mountains and numerous parks, conifers and junipers, which produce therapeutic phytoncides, predominate, the sea saturates the air with sea salts. This tandem turned the southern coast of Crimea into a huge healing inhaler.

The climate of the south of Crimea is subtropical, Mediterranean, and in its therapeutic effect surpasses the best resorts in Italy and France:

  1. The winter is very mild, with frequent rains, snow and frost are rare guests here, and the temperature even in the coldest month can suddenly rise to 15-18 degrees. Snow lies only in the mountains.
  2. Spring, that's why it is spring, to be windy and fickle: even snow is possible in March, and mid-May is usually warm enough that vacationers are already swimming.
  3. Summer on the South Coast in Crimea is long and hot - from the end of May to the end of September, but the heat is softened by the sea breeze, and therefore it is very easy to breathe.
  4. Autumn starts late, only in mid-October the swimming season ends, and during the day it is still warm, and only in the evenings the air begins to smell like autumn.

Forest vegetation - oaks and pines, juniper and beech, deciduous trees and bushes, many types of grasses, but the very edge of the South Coast of Crimea, inhabited by people, is planted mainly with ornamental plants: Lebanese and Himalayan cedars, cypress and ivy, magnolias and strawberry trees, laurel cherries and Spanish gorse. Of the fruit trees and shrubs on the southern coast of Crimea, there are most of all figs, persimmons, pears, apples, apricots, cherries, peaches, plums and grapes, among the numerous varieties of which very rare native varieties are still preserved.

Cities and towns of the southern coast of Crimea

From Cape Aya to Feodosia, the most extreme point of the southern coast of Crimea, at the edge of the sea, small towns and cities with ancient names and amazing history are scattered like beads of a pearl necklace. If you drive from Sevastopol to the east, then the road signs will tell us the fascinating history of the most densely populated part of the peninsula:

  1. Cape Aya (Holy) protrudes into the sea like a horn. The place is reserved, protected and mysterious. Not far from the cape, during the Crimean War, the Black Prince, an English ship carrying a huge amount of gold, crashed. No gold was found, but from time to time gold coins are found at the bottom near the cape.
  2. - a small village on the southern coast of Crimea, one of the first Greek colonies on the coast, and then a Genoese fortress. Now the owner of sanatoriums, boarding houses and a beautiful park, founded back in the 19th century.
  3. Kastropol is a small village on the South Coast in Crimea with a beautiful beach on the site of a Greek fortress that once stood here.
  4. - a resort village on the southern coast of Crimea with sanatoriums and hotels, located next to the famous Mount Koshka.
  5. Alupka is a small town on the South Coast in Crimea, famous for the palace of Count Vorontsov and a beautiful park.
  6. Koreiz is a small village with sanatoriums and rest houses, it was here that Prince Yusupov and Golitsyn built palaces.
  7. Miskhor is a climatic resort on the southern coast of Crimea. From here begins the famous cable car to Ai-Petri. There is a dendrological park with rare plants.
  8. - a resort village with world fame, a palace was built here for the last Russian emperor.
  9. - the resort capital, the city of the holiday, the pearl of the South Coast in the Crimea. It has a wonderful climate, so there are many sanatoriums, hotels, boarding houses.
  10. Massandra is a resort village, also known as the oldest winery in Crimea, built by Prince Golitsyn.
  11. Gurzuf is a wonderful resort, the location of the Artek international camp.
  12. - one of the best resort towns on the southern coast of Crimea, where some of the best sanatoriums, holiday homes, beautiful beaches and a water park are located.
  13. Solnechnogorskoye, Rybachye, Morskoye are small resort villages, located almost at the very edge of the sea, known for their beautiful beaches.

  • - the most beautiful village on the southern coast of Crimea: amazing multi-colored bays, rare pine trees, amazingly beautiful landscapes once struck the emperor of Russia. Here, Prince Golitsyn created a winery.
  • - a small resort town with good beaches and clear sea. It is famous for the medieval Genoese fortress.

In whatever town or village of the Southern Crimea you stop for a rest, you will be amazed by the history of this area, because for many hundreds of years hundreds of peoples lived on the land of Crimea, and each left its mark on architecture, history, and name.

In the last century, rest on the southern coast of Crimea was considered a great success. The climate is close to the Mediterranean, not very hot summers, low humidity, mountains that reliably protect coastal resorts from cold steppe winds, parks, palaces and, of course, the sea, all this makes the resorts of the Southern coast of Crimea a completely unique place.

After perestroika, the Russians had an alternative - holidays in Egypt and Turkey, which were incomparably higher in terms of comfort. This opportunity pushed the wonderful Crimean resorts into the shadows.

But the unbearably hot summer in Egypt and Turkey, the change in the status of Crimea, once again attracted the attention of tourists to the domestic unique place.

With the resorts of the southern coast of which, we will get acquainted.

Alushta

Like most cities in Crimea, Alushta appeared in the Byzantine era, in the 6th century AD. For a long time it was an important fortified point for the Byzantines, Khazars, Genoese, and Turks.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Alushta became a popular resort where you can not only enjoy the beautiful warm sea, but also see many attractions in the city itself and its environs.

Alushta Church of All Saints and Fyodor Stratilat is completely unique - it was built in the style of an English church with Gothic elements.

There is another interesting place in Alushta, which makes it possible to see the Crimea in miniature. We are talking about the park "Crimea in miniature". Here you can see all the most famous monuments of Crimea: temples, palaces, fortresses, museums.

Alushta offers a lot of accommodation options in hotels, guest houses, villas, cottages, and the private sector.
But many of the most comfortable hotels are located a few kilometers from the sea.

Alushta is a relatively inexpensive resort. In the period from June to August, prices for a two-room apartment for 2-4 people are in the range of 1000-2000 rubles (June) and 1500-3000 rubles (July-August).

The range of prices for accommodation in a double hotel room is very large: from 1500 to 12700 rubles.
This is due to the fact that many new year-round hotels have recently been built, with chic rooms, a heated pool and many other amenities.

Gurzuf

The wonderful narrow streets of the old Gurzuf invariably set the mood for rest.
This part of the city is small, but very picturesque.

Magnificent old parks full of shady corners, old, huge trees, fountains also perfectly complement the rest by the sea.

Magnificent view of the mountain Ayu-Dag, surrounding a small but cozy mountain resort.

There are several sanatoriums in Gurzuf, which allows not only rest, but also treatment. Today, these resorts are available to everyone and book directly, without intermediaries.

Gurzuf is a very popular holiday destination. Therefore, many sites provide information about housing for rent.

The range of prices for a double room in Gurzuf hotels is striking: from 1,700 rubles to 17,000 rubles. Such a high price is offered by one of the new luxury hotels in the village with three swimming pools, rooms with sea views and high-class service.

In the private sector, summer prices range from 1200-1800 rubles in June to 1600-2300 rubles in July-August.

Yalta

Once in Yalta, you immediately understand that this is not a simple resort, but a large, metropolitan city.
The southern capital of Crimea is located on three hills on the shores of the Yalta Bay.

The cozy valley is surrounded by the Crimean Mountains, which protect the city from the cold northern winds.

There are more sunny days a year in Yalta than in the famous resorts of San Remo, Cannes and Nice. The city is located on the same latitude as the Italian cities of Genoa and Ravenna.

Already at the beginning of the 20th century, Yalta was a large and popular resort. In the center and now you can see the historical buildings of the famous hotels "Oreanda" and "Bristol", which are more than 100 years old.

As a real capital, Yalta has its own flag, coat of arms and anthem.

In the summer season, many famous singers come here, theater troupes give performances in the city theater named after A.P. Chekhov.

The Yalta embankment, restored in recent years, passes into the Seaside Park. In a small but well-kept park, there are monuments to M. Gorky and A. Chekhov.

By the middle of the 20th century, the natural beaches of Yalta practically ceased to exist, destroyed by landslides from the mountains.

As a result of large-scale restoration work, retaining walls and groins were installed, between which a huge amount of rubble was filled up.

Today, all the beaches of Yalta are artificial, they are not threatened by mud flows and landslides. But, limited by the embankment, they are small and crowded during the season.

Rest in Yalta, with its large port, streams of cars and buses, crowds of tourists who came from other cities of Crimea, is a pleasure for lovers of noisy, party life.

In Yalta, there are many hotels of different price categories and offers from the private sector.

Accommodation in a double standard hotel room in the summer season will cost from 2,400 rubles to 11,000 rubles per day.
The price of luxury apartments reaches 62,000 rubles per day.

Apartments in the private sector in the city center and next to the sea in the summer season are very expensive.
A one-room apartment for 2 people costs from 2,000 rubles to 7,000 rubles per day, a two-room apartment costs from 3,000 rubles to 8,000 rubles.

There are a lot of offers, but as summer approaches, the choice becomes less and less.
The principle, the farther from the sea, the cheaper it is strictly observed. Reservations are made only through the websites.

Alupka

17 kilometers from Yalta, in the area of the so-called Big Yalta, there is a small, cozy town of Alupka.
Its first Russian owner is Prince Grigory Potemkin.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Alupka became the property of M. Vorontsov. The palace built by M. Vorontsov and the adjacent park are the main sights of the city.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Alupka became a popular resort. Many sanatoriums were built here, in which such celebrities as F. Chaliapin, S. Rachmaninov, M. Gorky, V. Bryusov willingly rested.

The magnificent views of Alupka inspired many artists who willingly worked here. Among them are such celebrities as I. Shishkin, V. Surikov, A. Kuindzhi.

The wonderful climate of Alupka was the reason for the creation of a huge landscape park here, a real work of park art. The park has a large number of subtropical plants.

Alupka is stretched along the sea and has 29 pebble beaches.
Of these, 6 beaches are free, public, the rest of the beaches are curative and "tied" to the numerous sanatoriums of the city. Almost all beaches are artificial and rather narrow.

In Alupka, 23 hotels offer their services to vacationers. Prices are noticeably lower than in Yalta.

So a 2-bed room for the summer period costs from 1850 to 4250 rubles per day, depending on the location of the hotel from the sea.

The private sector is also cheaper than in Yalta. In summer, a one-room apartment can be rented from 2000 to 3500 rubles.
The price is not always announced and is often only available upon request.
Viewing options, booking and payment occurs only through the sites.

Foros

The village of Foros is only 42 km from Yalta, but the contrast with the noisy and crowded Yalta is striking. Foros is a very quiet and cozy place to stay. The most western settlement of the southern coast, from which the road to the Baidar Gates, to the steppe Crimea, begins.

Foros is one of the oldest settlements on the southern coast of Crimea, founded by the Greeks in the 5th century BC.

The word Foros is also Greek, meaning lighthouse or duty, tax. After joining Russia, Foros was a rundown Tatar village for a long time.

At the end of the 19th century, the millionaire and "tea king" A. Kuznetsov built an estate here. At his own expense, in memory of the miraculous salvation of the royal family in a railway accident, the Foros Resurrection Church was built.

A unique place was chosen for the construction of the church - the steep Red Rock. The rock stands separately from the mountain range, and is surrounded by forest. As a result, it seems that the church is floating above the ground.

The temple was built in the Byzantine style, using a special brick - plinths. Sophia-Kyiv and Russian stone churches of the pre-Mongolian period were built from such bricks.

The lost interior decoration was luxurious: Byzantine ornament on the walls, mosaic floor and magnificent icons. The Church of the Resurrection is a symbol not only of Foros, but of the entire Crimea.
The palace of A. Kuznetsov and the park surrounding it are real masterpieces of architecture and gardening art.

There are several beaches in Foros - paid departmental and free. All of them are pebbly.

Strong currents pass along the coast, which makes the water in the sea the cleanest on the southern coast of Crimea. But because of the currents, the water temperature can change dramatically, sometimes several times a day.

There are 15 hotels of different price categories in Foros. A double room in the summer months costs from 2000 to 7500 rubles.

Housing for rent in the private sector of Foros is much less comfortable than in Yalta, Gurzuf and other villages on the southern coast of Crimea. Therefore, the prices here are significantly lower.

When choosing a place where you are going to stay, you need to pay special attention to the distance to the sea.. Quite a few streets in the village rise steeply uphill - steep ascents and descents will have to be overcome daily.
