It should be noted that the prices here are much higher than in other resorts, but the sea is really the cleanest. From the beach you can see rocks and beautiful birds nesting on them. After relaxing on the beach, you can go to the city center and get an unforgettable experience visiting the Butterfly Gorge and the Seashell Museum.

The luxurious beach of Dadonghai Bay.

Crescent-shaped Dadonghai Bay attracts vacationers with its magnificent beaches that stretch for 2 kilometers along the coastline. Dadonghai is located a few kilometers from the city of Sanya and attracts vacationers with dazzling white beach sand, azure sea water, so transparent that you can see the underwater world of the sea in all its glory. There are much fewer vacationers on the beaches here, they can even be called deserted. In the west of Sanyavan Bay, the water is very clean and clear, but closer to the "civilization" the sand on the beach is finer and darker, so sometimes it seems that the water is cloudy. Tropical trees grow around the beach and you can admire exotic views of the islands, go fishing and, of course, sunbathe and swim.

Hotels are located further away, many consider this a disadvantage of this resort. Many cafes will provide a first-class menu, where almost all dishes include seafood, and lovers of "frills" will be fed delicious Italian and European food. Here you can visit a tropical aquarium, a garden with sea birds and the World's End Park.

Russian tourists usually choose expensive resorts and luxury hotels in Hainan, while locals prefer remote and cheap hotels. One such place is the Luhoitou Peninsula. Dadonghai beach

If we single out the best beaches in Sanya, we can't fail to mention Dadonghai Beach, which is located about 2 km from the center of Sanya and has more than 30 hotels. Tourism on this beach began to develop actively in 1988. Dadonghai Beach is good for both beach holidays and city life. Local restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets are within walking distance of most hotels. From here, you can easily get to downtown Sanya by local bus for only 2 yuan per person.

Sanya Bay beach

Located a 10-minute drive from the city center of Sanya, the bay of the same name has a very wide and long beach that stretches for 22 km. True, the beach near the center of Sanya is a bit dirty, but its western part is still very clean and calm. What sets this area apart from Yalongwan and Dadonghai is the lower prices and location of hotels across the street from the beach.

Haitang Beach

Haitan is considered the most prestigious area in the vicinity of Sanya city, as many luxury hotels are located here, such as Sheraton, Hilton, Marriott. This almost 19-kilometer beach is located a 30-minute drive from the center of Sanya.

To begin with, let's make a small but very important geographical digression. Hainan is a rather large island with a coastline of more than 1,500 km. There are countless beaches.

But the most popular tourist destination, where most Russian vacationers go, is the city of Sanya - the southernmost point of the island. We will talk about the beaches of this place in this article.

There are 4 bays in the city:

Let's now look at what is interesting about each of them.

1. Sanya Bay

This bay is famous for its sprawling hotels with large areas, swimming pools, fountains and more. The first time we rested here. Our hotel even had its own hot springs. In general, here the Chinese swung.

Perhaps the greatest advantage of this place can be considered relative silence and tranquility. There are not many people on the beach, there are not many cafes and entertainment, there is no fuss. Lots of sand, little debris. The entrance to the sea is mostly gentle.

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday, this place is perfect for you.

And now about the cons - not all hotels have their own beach and direct access to the sea. To get from our hotel, for example, you had to cross a rather busy road. And there are no pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, so I had to cross the road in dashes.

Those who like to walk around the evening city will not really like this place, since you will have to go to all entertainment, cafes, restaurants, concerts and shops (by bus or taxi). For us, this turned out to be the biggest disadvantage of that first trip. Because of this, for the first time we visited few places, and there are plenty of interesting places in the center of Sanya.

Therefore, I strongly advise you to choose a hotel in the bay, which is as close as possible to the central part of the city. We will talk about it now.

2. Da Dong Hai

This is the liveliest part of the city: cafes, restaurants, markets, shopping centers - everything is within easy reach. Here life boils.

The hotels in this part of the city are not so sprawling, they are built quite densely and stretch high up: if hotels in Sanya Bay have large territories, then here the hotel may not have its own park or swimming pool. But I don’t see a big problem in this, since it’s literally 5 minutes to go to the sea.

The beach here is sandy, but in some places at the entrance you have to step over accumulations of pebbles, which hit your legs during the waves. The coast is different: both gentle and not very. I recommend swimming inside the areas that are fenced with buoys - there is a good entry into the sea.

There are much more people here (but there is no crush, you can always find a place), this inevitably leads to its clogging. But, we must pay tribute to the Chinese, they constantly clean and clean it, so it's nice to be on it.

This beach is equipped with everything you need: sun loungers with soft seats - 25 yuan, there are left-luggage offices - from 15 yuan, free toilets. Along the entire beach there are cafes and small restaurants.

Here is the entire standard set of beach activities, volleyball nets and the like.

A big minus of this beach: when a typhoon approaches, which happens during the rainy season, this beach can be closed. Close in the literal sense of the word, that is, drive everyone out of it and block it. When we closed the beach for 4 days.

For some reason, it is in this bay that the biggest waves occur. The Chinese are playing it safe, and our sad tourists are walking around the beach and counting the remaining vacation days.

But in fact, you should not be sad, but it is best to go to other bays. Either to the closest Sanya Bay, which we talked about above, or to the incomparable Yalong Bay (be sure to read the article about transport to Hainan and what the rainy season in Hainan is like).

3. Yalong Bay

Yalong Bay is called a 5 star bay. The high cost of these places is felt as soon as you get off the bus: beautiful lawns, very clean, ideal roads.

Only expensive hotels with the highest ratings are located here. They are even more sweeping than in the very first beach of Sanya Bay. Huge parks, swimming pools and the like.

I liked this beach more than anyone else: very clean, lots of sand, free umbrellas, gently sloping beach. Too big waves do not rise here, so the beach is open even when the neighboring Da Dong Hai is closed.

A huge number of beach activities for every taste. True, there are long queues for them.

There are a lot of people, but there is enough space for everyone. A very pleasant beach.

And now for the cons: from Da Dong Hai Bay, the road will take about 40 minutes by bus. In the evening, the last bus leaves at 5-30 or even earlier (the exact time can be found at the bus stop). After that, back only by taxi.

It is quite quiet and calm on the streets here, cafes are concentrated in small shopping centers.

4. Haitan Bay

Unfortunately, I did not manage to visit this bay, as it is located quite far from the central part of the city. I can't even tell if there are any buses going there. I only know that this part of the city is still developing.

Three popular bays with excellent sandy beaches and hotels are located on the southern coast of heavenly Hainan, in the resort of Sanya. All come here! These are Yalong Bay (or Yalongwan), Dadonghai and Sanya Bay (or Sanyavan).

Very clean and well maintained yalong beach (a 20-minute drive from the city of Sanya) is almost 7.5 km of soft light sand, a wide beach line with sun loungers, umbrellas and lifeguards near the hotels, long shallow water and well-developed infrastructure. This beach is ideal for families with children. He is the most popular and prestigious. Only tourists who prefer a quiet family vacation rest here. No annoying merchants, hustle and bustle.

The sea near the eastern part of Yalunvan Beach is always calm. And in the western part there are waves. Only in this bay it has a particularly beautiful azure color. Coral reefs and high water transparency (up to 10 meters) beckon diving. On the beach there is a rental equipment for diving.

Entertainment: banana and scooter rides, glass-bottom boat trips and fishing.

Dadonghai beach , which is located in the bay of the same name, is located just 3 km from the center of Sanya. Therefore, it is more crowded and lively here. The peculiarity of the beach is its small length, crumbly, soft sand. There are also many Chinese here who not only relax, walk, but also sing songs, dance, make noise, build sand castles, arrange wedding photo shoots. Many merchants of pearls, fruits, souvenirs. Don't get bored! :)

The coast is perfect for swimming small children. There is shallow water, a good entry into the sea (on the right side the coast is more rocky), a wide coastline with sunbeds and trees that give shade, there are many lifeguards. But here the water is not as clear as in Yalunvan. Within walking distance are many cafes with Russian names, restaurants, seafood square, shops, supermarkets.

Massage therapy services are available on the beach. You can play volleyball, ride bananas, jet skis, go snorkeling or diving, go fishing.

Sanyavan Beach - not as popular with tourists as Yalunvan and Dadonghai. But only because he began to develop infrastructure later than others. It is located a 10-minute drive from downtown Sanya. The coast is 17 km long and about 30 meters wide. This is the longest beach on the island, and at the same time very calm.

You can always find secluded areas here. There are not many merchants, but occasionally they sell pearls and fruits. There are not a lot of sun loungers with umbrellas here. there are no beach resorts on line 1, all hotels are across the road. But there are palm trees that give shade, the sea is the quietest, without strong waves.

Near the shore there is shallow water, a very gentle bottom, so the place is suitable for bathing kids. The water is clean, warm, sometimes cloudy due to sand.

The main attraction of the bay is the man-made Phoenix Island with a hotel.

In the evening, young people gather in beach cafes.

haitan bay — dynamically developing area in the south of Hainan. The 19-kilometer golden beach here is extremely beautiful, but the infrastructure is still in its infancy. Soon it will be a strong competitor to Yalunvan Beach. In the meantime, this is a special corner of the wild tropical nature, which has preserved its original beauty untouched, with luxurious 5 * international class hotels that you can only dream of.

There are not many people on the beach. An ideal place for those who like a serene holiday in a private setting.

Bay of clear water (Clear water Bay) - an area 12 km long, located 40 km from Sanya, with a long, clean and almost uninhabited beach. Tourists and residents come here to enjoy the crystal clear sea water (full of the name, visibility up to 12 meters) and hear the singing of the sand. Yes, it's so quiet here. If in other bays of the island you can hear the hum of cars, noise, warnings on the radio not to swim behind the buoys, then here there is still complete relaxation. And the sand is whistling something... Very few places on the planet can offer people to listen to such a natural "concert".

According to legend, the drama of the Chinese Romeo and Juliet happened on the beach, which turned into two giant boulders.

On the territory of this magnificent park there is a zoo, an ethnic village, reservoirs and waterfalls, a museum of rare multi-colored crystal, pearl boutiques. You can easily get here on your own - by bus, flight to Tanya or Nantian. The park is located 23 km from the city of Sanya.

Monkey Island Sanctuary

Monkey Island is located 80 km from the city of Sanya. Since 1965, in this reserve, on an incredibly beautiful area of ​​​​forests and rocks, about 2 thousand funny and mischievous monkeys - Guangxi macaques - live in their natural habitat. To meet them, tourists get across the strait by cable car. The cabin soars at a bird's eye view over the strait, the open sea, the coastal settlement. Monkeys lure treats from tourists and can easily steal jewelry. In a small circus, the animals demonstrate acrobatic numbers.

Nanshan Buddhism Center - a cultural and tourist zone 20 km from the city of Sanya, which combines seascapes, Buddhist temples and attractions. Here are the largest Nanshan temple complex, as well as the Buddhist statue of the goddess of mercy Guanyin, 108 m high. She stands in the sea on a pedestal in the form of a lotus flower. In one of the pavilions of the park there is a statue of the goddess made of pure gold, adorned with precious stones and listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

Yanoda rainforest is the only one in China. It is located 35 km from Sanya city and is equipped for safe walking. The reserve is divided by a gorge, over which a bridge is laid, into two parts - the Valley of the Jungle and the Valley of Dreams.
