Top 10 most dangerous slides in the water park. The highest water slide in the world

The ideal vacation is a concept that everyone understands in their own way. For some, an imposing pastime on the beach is optimal, while others get real pleasure from an active or even extreme vacation.

The heart beats faster, with every second a huge portion of adrenaline is released into the blood, and in the meantime the brain seems to turn off, but the brilliance of sensations does not decrease from this! Believe me, you will have enough impressions for many years if you dare to conquer the largest water slide in the world!

Summit Plummet

In a water park called Disney Blizzard Beach, which is located in Florida, there is one of the most extreme water slides - about 37 m in height. Despite the fact that the summer here is always sunny and rather hot, those wishing to descend from the Summit Plummet will find drifts of snow at the top and along the entire route, because of which this attraction looks rather unusual and looks more like a ski jump. But since the snow is artificial, the probability of freezing something for yourself is reduced to zero.

To climb the Summit Plummet you will not have to make any special efforts - there is a cable car for this. And if the climb is easy, then it is at the top of the water slide that you will have a very hard time. Why? Because you need to have nerves of steel to sit in a narrow gutter, let go of your hands and ... experience an incredible feeling when you are rapidly falling down at a speed of 100 km / h. Ready? Then Summit Plummet is waiting for you!

For more than 15 years, this slide has held the proud title of the highest water slide in the world. Its height is 41 m and it is located in the water park, which bears the name of Fortaleza Beach Park. And if you have planned your vacation in the Brazilian resort of Fortaleza, then you simply do not have the right to pass by its luxurious attraction, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

Insano is a water slide that not everyone dares to slide down. Its descent is almost vertical, and in height it is equivalent to a 14-storey building. Anyone who dares to climb to the top of this Brazilian attraction will be able to find out what a bird's eye view is and fully enjoy the surrounding landscape.

But the view of the coast and the port city is not the main thing! You are at the top and now you should gather all your will into a fist and make a real flight down. Its duration does not exceed 7 seconds, but due to the huge speed, which is about 105 km / h, the sensations are incredible! During this short time you will experience amazing, incomparable feelings!

Verruckt

But the biggest dose of adrenaline awaits you in Kansas City, where the Verrückt water slide awaits all the madmen in a park called Schlitterbahn. Only real daredevils are able to agree to this adventure, since this slide is not only the highest in the world, but also one of the most extreme. By agreeing to this flight, you get several pleasures at once:

  • fast travel on a water slide;
  • an incredible track design that wags like rails on an American roller coaster;
  • amazing turns that make you fall down and immediately soar up.

And all this happens at an incredible speed, which reaches 120 km / h. The highest section of the Verrückt water slide is 52 m. And when compared with well-known buildings, then, for example, the Statue of Liberty will be half a meter lower than this attraction. The same can be said about some other world attractions, such as the Tower and Niagara Falls - they are also inferior in height to this amazing water slide.

In order to reach the top of the Verrückt you will need to overcome 264 steps. At the top, risk-takers are already waiting for rubber rafts, each of which can accommodate 3 people. And then only a dizzying flight from the height of a 17-storey building and another 180 m of incredible extreme! At the same time, the first fall is not the only one - immediately after it, you will be lifted to a height of about 5 floors and carried further along a narrow and, as it seems to many, an endless chute.

Do you want to tickle your nerves? Then you are on the highest water slide in the world!

It is difficult for adventure seekers to stay at home within four walls - they are always looking for something new and interesting for themselves. For this, rides in amusement parks are great, which can give you a real adrenaline rush. But today there are many more ways than crazy rollercoaster rides.

And if you want to up the ante, there are theme parks in the world that have some of the tallest waterslides! And here are some of them:

1. Waterslide "Verrückt" (Kansas City, Missouri, USA)

Since 2014, Kansas has been home to the tallest waterslide in the world. Standing 168 feet (51.21 m), its starting point is even higher than Niagara Falls, and a three-person boat can travel nearly 45 miles per hour (72 km/h).

Unfortunately (or fortunately), adrenaline junkies won't be able to experience the thrill soon, as the waterslide is scheduled to close for the foreseeable future after an accident occurred on it in 2016.

2. Waterslide "Kilimanjaro" (Mato Grosso, Brazil)

Located within the Águas Quentes State Park, the Kilimanjaro is only a few feet lower than the aquatic Verrückt at 164 feet (50 m).

They say that this slide is so steep that the body practically does not touch its surface until you are at the very bottom.

3. Waterslide "Insano" (Fortaleza, Brazil)

Located in Beach Park in a tourist resort in Brazil, Insano is a waterslide that will take you down at 65 miles per hour (104.61 km/h).

That means it's not going down by boat: it's just you and the slide, which is 135 feet (41.15 m) high. The ride ends with a four-second splash fall into the pool.

4. Scorpion’s Tail Waterslide (Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, USA)

The Scorpion Tail Waterslide is located at Noah's Ark Waterpark, considered the largest amusement park in the United States.

The uniqueness of this water slide is that you do not even have to make an effort to go down - a special mechanism will do it for you. All you have to do is stand on the platform inside the pod and it will open up underneath you, forcing you to quickly descend the 400-foot (121.92 m) covered slide.

5. Jumeirah Sceirah Waterslide (Dubai, UAE)

Another super-extreme waterslide for real adrenaline addicts is located in Dubai, in the Wild Wadi Waterpark. It's like the Scorpion's Tail waterslide, where the floor you step on drops out from under your feet and you begin your fast-paced 102-foot (31.09 m) adventure at 80 miles per hour (128.75 km/h).

6. Waterslide "Free Fall Kamikaze" (Free Fall Kamikaze) (Algarve, Portugal)

Kamikaze Free Fall is a 104-foot (31.7 m) waterslide built in 2015 at Aquashow Water Park. You will get pleasure comparable to a ride on a winding roller coaster. A journey at a speed of 70 km/h with a length of almost 129 meters!

7. Leap of Faith Waterslide (Paradise Island Atlantis Resort, Bahamas)

If descending an extraordinarily high waterslide is a piece of cake for you, Leap of Faith might test your strength.

Located at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas and surrounded by true paradise, this waterslide will give you a thrilling 60-foot (18.29 m) slide adventure.

An additional challenge is to slide into a pond with sharks swimming in it. Yes, that's right - sharks. But don't worry! You will stay safe because you will "dive" into this body of water on a covered slide.

8. Waterslides "Cliffhanger" and "Screaming Serpents" ("Cliffhanger" and "Screaming Serpents") (Galveston, Texas, USA)

Schlitterbahn Water Parks has two attractions for adrenaline junkies. Either you go to the Cliffhanger and enjoy the 81-foot (24.69 m) drop, or choose the Screaming Serpents for another spectacular immersive ride. In general, if the adrenaline rush is your thing, then it is better to ride both slides!

If you've watched the horror movie Final Destination 3, you may have developed an anti-roller coaster bias. Do you think that water slides are a great alternative? After all, there are no heavy moving mechanical parts, sharp turns and - most importantly - no electric current. Alas, we have to disappoint you! In water parks, this attraction causes the most harm. You can unsuccessfully "splash down". You can get stuck and wait in the dark to be pulled out. You can damage body parts and ... even be decapitated. Don't believe? Here are the most dangerous water slides in the world.

Unreliable rafts

Slide "Shoot The Rapids" is located in the amusement park "Cedar Point" (Ohio, next to Lake Erie). Visitors descend on a raft that can accommodate up to ten people at a time. One of the worst incidents in the history of water slides happened in the park. The empty raft was pulled back to the top of the hill, but it broke free and rushed down the slope and capsized another raft. Ten visitors (including children) fell into the water, and the woman received a serious head injury. If help had not arrived in time, they would have drowned.

Rapist ambush

Arriba Water Park in the German city of Norderstedt recently took action to keep its guests safe following a horrific incident on a waterslide. On March 4, 2015, two girls (14 and 18 years old) were caught by Afghan rapists, 14 and 34 years old, who were waiting for their victims "at the finish line", in the pool. The security team detained the perpetrators, but the girls had time to be abused. Now the perpetrators are behind bars, and the park has separate rides for men and women. Guards watch visitors under the guise of ordinary swimmers.

Fall into a black hole

One of the most dangerous water slides is the infamous "The Black Hole" at Wet N'Wild Water Park in Orlando. The park was repeatedly sued in connection with the state of emergency on this hill. In 2000, a man sued the park for $ 1.73 million after receiving serious injuries - when he was descending, he was rammed by some unknown object, the poor fellow was thrown out of the bottom of the "Hole" and could not move his legs. The spine was damaged, the victim needed metal plates implanted in the neck. There were other unpleasant incidents: people hit the bottom, each other, got injured. The descent takes 23 seconds, but employees send the next visitor every 20 seconds, which sometimes leads to "accidents".

Brazilian hippo

Beach Park in Brazil is famous for its Slide Insano Water, one of the tallest rides of its kind (41 meters - like a 14-story building). Descending from this slide developed a speed of up to 105 km per hour, while the descent is so steep that the body barely touches the surface. In this situation, it is very important to take the correct posture so as not to cripple: you need to cross your arms over your chest and ankles. The whole "trip" takes 4-5 seconds, imagine how much adrenaline is released into the blood - not everyone can stand it. Employees often laugh at people coming out of the bottom of this "behemoth": some visitors cannot hold back tears from fear and shock.

Decoration for a horror movie

In the Spanish city of Benidorm, there is an attraction that could well have become a set for a horror movie - once its water was stained with scarlet blood due to a terrible emergency. We are talking about the 33 meter high VertiGo waterslide. Imagine: you are standing in a capsule at the top, and then a hatch opens below you, and you are pulled down. What happened? The British tourist entered the capsule, but the hatch did not open completely, the man fell through a small gap, severely injuring his face and cutting his legs. The pool at the bottom filled with his blood, but within ten minutes the slide was working again.

The only indoor attraction

The Sahara Sidewinders Ride is another of the most dangerous water slides in the world. It is located in the Kalahari resort in the US city of Wisconsin Dells. The slide is billed as the only indoor ride of its type, the first of its kind in America. However, it seems that something was not thought out in the new technology, because problems sometimes arise here. In 2011, the resort was sued after a teenager was injured on a slide. The process was won: the victim's lawyers proved that the resort administration knew about the danger, but did not take the necessary measures (there were also complaints before, but it did not reach the court).

When the number of injuries goes through the roof

Cannonball Falls is part of New Jersey's infamous Action Park water park, "famous" for the most injuries in the country. In just one season, six visitors were crippled, and five of them received shoulder injuries. The company that owns the park was very reluctant to pay for the treatment of all the victims. The decision was made to close the attraction in September 2015.

deadly madness

One of the latest horrifying tragedies occurred on the Verruckt water slide at the Kansas City Water Park. This is the highest slide in the world (over 51 meters). In August 2016, 10-year-old Caleb was thrown from a raft and beheaded. The horrific incident is still under investigation. Witnesses claim that they heard an explosion, a scream, and blood began to come out from the bottom of the hill. Caleb was very thin, and many say that he should not have been allowed to descend. The name of the slide is translated from German as "crazy". The crazy attraction was closed after the incident - most likely forever.

Another very dangerous waterslide, Speed Slide, is located in the famous Knoebels Water Park in Pennsylvania. At one time, the attraction was often featured in the local news due to the large number of injuries - girls were especially affected. Two of them (visitors aged 11 and 12) had genital injuries. The speed of descent is so great that the force and pressure of the water simply tore apart their inner part.

Closed after a month

One of the most ridiculous and unsafe water slides was the property of the New Jersey Action Park we have already mentioned. This monster was called "Cannonball Loop". It seems that it was designed with no regard for the potential risks of visitors. And to venture on a "trip" on this hill could either absolutely "reckless", or decided to commit suicide. The attraction had the shortest operating life: it was closed a month after opening. And thank God - at least no one had time to die on this monster.

Each vacationer in his own way represents water entertainment. For some, just splashing in a pool of clean water is enough. Well, there are also extreme people who, for complete happiness, definitely need the highest water slide in the world. Every year there are more and more such entertainments in the world and the slides are getting higher. The main part of such entertainment is located overseas, but in Europe there are several attractions that can be safely attributed to the highest water slides.

Spain, VertiGo attraction

In 2013, the world's tallest capsule coaster opened in Benidorm, Spain. The height of this slide is 33 meters, but there is also a lower one nearby - for those who are afraid to immediately climb to such a height. The first daredevils who dared to try such entertainment simply took their breath away from the sensations. Some shouted, others crossed themselves, others simply closed their eyes so as not to see everything that was happening. This is not surprising, because the speed with which a person rushes down a special capsule is about 100 km / h.

On the opening day of the slide, a large number of people gathered in the pool who wanted to see the faces of those who dared such an adventure. Inside the capsule, under the feet of a person, there is a special hatch that opens at the signal of the attraction worker. A moment - and the extreme is already flying down, and the speed of the fall is constantly increasing. Before letting tourists on the slide, it was tested by lifeguards working in this water park.

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Jumeirah Sceirah

The Middle East also did not want to lag behind, and a capsule water slide was built in the Emirates, which is in no way inferior to the Spanish attraction. After the vacationer climbs to a height of 33 meters, he will face a rapid descent along the plastic chute at great speed. After the initial acceleration, it seems to the tourist that everything will go smoothly, but somewhere in the middle of the way, he suddenly falls down, almost in free fall. It is this section of the slide that is the most attractive for thrill-seekers.

For the entire period of operation of this attraction, no accidents were recorded on this slide (except, of course, the loss of some bathing accessories on the way down).

Brazil, Fortaleza, Insano waterslide

This attraction is not only the highest water slide in the world, but also the record holder of the Guinness Book of Records. It is located in the Beach Park water park, near the Brazilian city of Fortaleza. Her name Insano means insane in translation, and one cannot but agree with this. The height of this slide is equal to the height of a 14-story building (41 meters). Not only is it very high, the descent along it is almost vertical, which further adds to the extreme for tourists. For those 5 seconds that the descent lasts, a person develops a speed of up to 105 km / h, and this is the speed of a rushing car.

After a successful descent, the vacationer has the opportunity to watch a video that captures his adventure, and even take the recording with him as a keepsake. These scenes can be viewed over and over again. True, access to such entertainment is not available to everyone. Entrance to the attraction is strictly prohibited for pregnant women, children whose height has not reached 140 cm and people with disorders of the cardiovascular system.

Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Mount Kilimanjaro

This water slide fully justifies its name (Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa). Those who wish to ride from such a mountain are invited to overcome 50 meters in 5 seconds. The maximum speed that is reached during the descent is about 90 km / h. The attraction staff keep their statistics, and claim that one in twenty visitors does not dare to overcome this path and descends back. Not everyone has the courage to dare such a risky act.

United States, Kansas City, Verruckt

The tallest waterslide in the world has recently opened in the US at the Schlitterbahn water park. The height of this attraction is almost 52 meters. She surpassed both Niagara Falls and the Statue of Liberty in height, although there are not so many desperate daredevils who are ready to descend from such a height.

A spiral climb, consisting of 264 steps, leads to the very top of the hill, where those who want to ride are seated in four-seater rubber rafts and tied tightly to them. On the first tests of this attraction, the engineers could not make sure that the sandbags (they were tested) did not come off the slide and did not rise into the air. For greater safety, the chute itself, along which the descent takes place, is fenced with a net. This is really necessary, because the speed with which the daredevil descends is approximately 120 km / h.

The world's tallest waterslide is currently closed. Unfortunately, a child recently died on this attraction. All the details of this incident are not yet fully known, but there are rumors that he flew out of the front seat and broke his neck on the top rail of the gutter. There is no official version yet, but the mere fact that a 10-year-old teenager was allowed to enter this attraction is already a case under jurisdiction. The fact is that the entrance to this hill is allowed only from the age of 14.

Whether this water slide will open again or not is still unknown, but some hotheads of individual extreme sportsmen will cool this incident a little. After all, for a good rest it is not at all necessary to climb to such a height and risk your life.

Its height was 41 meters.

Schlitterbahn Water Park was opened last year. The steepest slide, Verrückt, reaches 52 meters in height, which is half a meter higher than the Statue of Liberty. The spiral climb takes professional risk-takers to the very top, where they break into teams of 4, sit on rubber rafts and rush down at a speed of 120 km / h.

Let's take a closer look at it...

"Verrückt" in German means "crazy" - in fact, only a crazy extreme and thrill-seeker will dare to ride the highest and fastest water slide.

The water slide "Verrückt" is officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the highest in the world: its height is 51.38 m

Photo 3.

The Verrückt Meg-a-Blaster is a design triumph of insane proportions by Jeff Henry, co-owner and "evil genius" of Schlitterbahn Waterparks. Henry decided he wanted to build a record-breaking slide, which resulted in the creation of "Verrückt".

Photo 4.

The Verrückt has 4 people descending in parallel and, as Henry remarked, "It's a lot more fun to have someone yelling next to your ear." It all starts with a frightening fall from a 17-story height and continues with a small rise. And this is more than 180 meters of wet extreme. After the initial drop, which is steeper than any ski run, you reach a second five-story climb with new water technology.

Photo 5.

The massive tower around which you will ascend to dizzying heights is made from railroad tank cars cut and welded together. The builders reuse the material to build the "Verrückt". The attraction differs from the Kilimanjaro in that it will be a raft ride and the body will not touch the surface. Although, of course, a raft is not a very comfortable transport when you fly 50 sheer meters down.

Photo 6.

Verrückt is taller than Niagara Falls, the Statue of Liberty (from sandals to torch) and the Tower of London. It will not only be the highest slide in the world, but also the steepest and fastest. Henry says that “Verrückt will change the industry. The biggest challenge will be to find extreme people who will dare to go down.” If you're brave enough, visit Kansas City and challenge yourself!
