The best silicone lures for zander, pike and perch

Conventionally, silicone baits can be divided into several types:

vibrotail

Silicone bait imitating a small fish. There is a thickening at the end of the tail, which gives the bait its own game. The presence of such a game allows the bait to create vibrations even at. However, the main function is a jig "step". They are made of soft rubber, which gives a more active game to the bait.

twister

A lure that looks like a leech. It consists of a body (usually ribbed) and one or more tails (such baits may well imitate a small frog and are an intermediate form). Often the tail is given a different shape with the help of an additional notch. Twisters on an offset hook are suitable for fishing in the bottom snag or a heavily overgrown pond.

Worms

passive baits that do not have their own game. They are caught by dragging along the bottom or by a small "step". The absence of the game does not affect the catchability in any way. True, the use of small worms can also collect white fish.

Other baits

They imitate frogs, various crustaceans and even squids. The latter, despite the fact that they are not found in the reservoirs of the middle zone, successfully catch various predators, mainly pike.

For fishing in the near-surface layer, small twins with a double pressed to the body are often used. This option allows you to comfortably fish on ponds overgrown with “grass” or at a time when snags swim close to the surface.

Crayfish are suitable for the bottom layers. Small jerks with dragging are suitable as wiring. With such baits, the predator often tears off claws, antennae and other protruding parts.

Accessories for silicone lures

Most often, anglers use four rigs: Texas, Carolina, drop-shot and Moscow.

Texas Rig(Texas)

It consists of a load in the form of a bullet or a bead and an offset hook. The hook is attached to a light and strong leash, for example, from florocarbon. For offset. Fix it in such a way that the sting of the hook lies close to the surface, but does not look out. So, the probability of losing the bait is minimal.

"Drop Shot"

The hook is attached directly to the fishing line, or a separate leash, and the sinker is placed below. On a separate leash, the bait has more opportunities for free movement, and the fish takes the bait not weighted with a sinker more readily. Such equipment is used both from a boat at great depths, and from the shore in the current. The advantage is that the weight of the load can vary greatly, while the bait is almost weightless.

A bit like Texas, but the load and bait are separated. The swivel and bead are located approximately half a meter above the hook. The worm, which is mounted on the offset, has a more natural animation in the water column, and the fish, pulling it in, does not feel the weight of the load. Dragging along the bottom, the load raises turbidity, which imitates a fish digging in the ground and attracts a predator. Floating heads are usually not used in such equipment, but floating lures are used.

Moscow

The load in the form of a drop or a pear is attached through a swivel on a separate leash to the main line. A leash of monofilament fishing line about a meter long is attached at a distance of 15-20 cm from the swivel. Small twisters and vibrotails on an offset hook are used as bait. Due to the spaced equipment and the lack of weight directly on the bait, the latter behaves more naturally when it falls, which is not so alarming for the fish.

Also, the fastening on the offset machine gives the tooling the properties of a non-hook. This allows you to keep expensive or especially catchy baits longer.

If it is planned to catch a large area of water, and the bottom is not snarled, then you can catch perch on the Caroline or Moscow equipment. For fishing on the "Carolina" usually use a twister. Models with positive buoyancy are best suited. In case the bottom is snarled, a Texas rig with an offset hook will do.

If spot fishing is supposed, then it is better to use a “drop-shot”. For such equipment, "passive" silicone is usually used, for example, worms.

A triple swivel is attached to the end of the cord. A leash with a load of about 25-40 cm in length is attached to the lower ring. In order not to tear it when touching obstacles with a sinker or not to lose it when cut by a pike (if it lives in a pond), it is better to take a stronger leash, for example, from tungsten or a guitar string. The weight of the sinker depends on the depth of the reservoir and the strength of the current. A leash of a cord about a meter long is fixed on the middle ring. A clasp or carabiner is attached to the end of the leash, on which the bait is attached. For this, a twister or a vibrotail on an offset is usually used.

How to increase the catch of fish?

For 7 years of active passion for fishing, I have found dozens of ways to improve the bite. Here are the most effective ones:

  1. Biting activator. This pheromone additive lures fish the most in cold and warm water. .
  2. Raise gear sensitivity. Read the appropriate manuals for the particular type of tackle.
  3. Lures based pheromones.

Most Popular Models

Recently, the so-called "Edible" rubber is becoming more widespread.

It differs from ordinary silicone in that it contains an attractant that additionally attracts a predator.

The most popular of them are:

  • Gary Yamamoto;
  • Mega Strike;
  • ecogear;
  • BassAssassin;

Their main taste is crayfish, artificial bloodworms or worms.

For walleye fishing, Curly Curly Bubbling Shaker and G-tail Grub lures from Reins are more often used. The Vibra 90 mm Shooter and Slim baits from Kosadaka have proven themselves well: the attractants in them are selected in such a ratio as to provoke the attack of zander with the greatest probability. Freaky Rock Ra Shad and Sator Worm lures are also used. They contain parts of various fish and crustaceans.

For perch, SexyImpact (Keitech), DaiwaTournament and models from Reins are more often used. The size here is not a particularly important component, the color of the bait plays the first role. Colors that work best are Cola Green Pumpkin Nagoya Shrimp and Kiwi Seed. The perch reacts especially well to the "Japanese". Size, color and smell play an equal role here. The Shake Swamp and Heavy Swamp models work best.

For pike, baits similar to fry or small fish are suitable. It is important that the bait has the smell of fish and fish blood. Reins and Molix baits are suitable.
