Choosing spinners for autumn pike fishing

As soon as autumn comes, all avid spinning enthusiasts enthusiastically take out their favorite tackle, spinners and other baits from mezzanines and other secluded corners and go to the pond to enjoy catching a predator. This is due not only to the cooling of the water, its saturation with oxygen and the beginning of zhor, but also to the fact that the annoying vegetation, which previously prevented normal wiring, has finally sunk to the bottom. Now nothing prevents the angler from holding an artificial bait the way he needs and where he pleases. But which lure is better for pike?

Lure fishing for pike

As practice has shown, the best time for flashing pike will be days with cloudy weather and drizzling rain, which have replaced sunny days. At the same time, the toothy predator will be especially active at lunchtime, and not in the morning, as in summer.

In some reservoirs, the most productive artificial baits for pike in the fall will be spinners - rotating and oscillating. These baits and, and will be discussed.

The choice of a suitable spinner for successful fishing directly depends on the reservoir where you are going to fish - its size, bottom structure, approaches to the shore, and so on.

First of all, you should pay attention to the "rotators". Thanks to the movable petal, which creates small turbulences in the water, the pike takes them for a fry trying to escape from its sharp teeth. In addition, spinners are one of the easiest lures to use. It is enough just to throw them to the desired distance and start wiring.

To adjust the depth of immersion of the spinner, it is necessary to rotate the handle of the reel - the slower it is, the deeper the bait will sink.

No matter how catchy the spinner is, but on the oscillating baubles, the chances of catching a really large pike are much greater. It happens that autumn pikes rush to baubles the size of a palm.

How to provoke a pike to attack your spinner

Usually pike should be looked for near the shore, in pits, between snags, near thickets of reeds or cattail, near aquatic vegetation that has not yet had time to sink to the bottom.

Often every spinning player observed such a picture - a pike, having left its familiar place, begins to pursue the bait, but is in no hurry to grab it. In this case, inexperienced fishermen begin to slow down the pace of reeling, which is not worth doing - the pike will immediately turn around and swim away. On the contrary, the wiring should be accelerated.

If you are fishing on a spinner, then you can stop altogether. A pause will cause some fluctuation of the spinner, which can provoke a predator to attack. You can also try changing the bait. It is likely that a different shape or color will help the toothy decide to attack.

The most catchy types of spinners for pike

We will not give specific models, this will be done in a separate rating, where it will be determined which baubles for pike are best suited. Here are the types of spinners for catching pike and other predatory fish, which have some fundamental difference. Each type of baubles, especially oscillating ones, can be divided into subspecies.

Lures type Castmaster

These spinners are a saw cut of a metal bar at special angles. There is an opinion that castmasters “work” mainly on asp, but the pike is not averse to coveting this unusual lure, the beauty of which lies in its heaviness.

A Castmaster-type lure, even of a small size, can be cast over a long distance, which, for example, cannot be done with a light “revolver”.

Turntables

Usually spinners are equipped with one lobe that rotates freely around the body of the bait during wiring. But there are options with two, three petals.

Spinners are a favorite pike bait, and they should be in the arsenal of every self-respecting spinner.

kolebalki

On the shelves of modern stores you can find a huge number of oscillating lures, a variety of shapes, colors and sizes. At one time, craftsmen made such spinners with their own hands from improvised materials - metal spoons, copper springs, plates from measuring instruments, tubes and other things.

Each of the "oscillators" has its own unique game. Some slowly and imposingly waddle from side to side during the retrieval, others “dart” from side to side, like frightened fry, others dive up and down like a wounded fish, etc.

Noise spinners

The fish not only sees well, but also hears. So why not use this fact to capture her? This is how acoustic (noise) spinners were created, which emit a certain noise during wiring, which attracts the predator even when the bait is out of its field of vision.

They look like ordinary “turntables” or “oscillators”, but are equipped with special elements that create noise and vibration in the water column.

Bimetallic spinners

These are, as a rule, oscillating baubles, the body of which consists of two different metals. For example: steel and copper. It is believed that due to this, the spinner begins to produce a weak electric current in the water, which attracts the predator and provokes him to bite.

Unhooks

If you have to catch a predator in places where there are a lot of snags and other debris at the bottom, then the best baits will be unhooked spinners. They are equipped with elastic antennae that cover the sting of the hook from an unpleasant hook. There is an opinion that these very antennae have a bad effect on the quality of the wiring, but sometimes you just can’t do without an unhook.

Benefits of lure fishing

Each type of bait has its own advantages and disadvantages. Under certain conditions, certain types of spinners, wobblers, or jig baits work better. However, it is spinners that have a number of properties that other types of baits do not have.

  • Spinners made of metal can last quite a long time. Some spinners probably have baits in their arsenal made back in the days of the Soviet Union, and they continue to successfully catch a wide variety of predators on them. Unlike plastic wobblers or silicone, iron spinners are almost impossible to break, and even the fact that a pike manages to bite through them is out of the question.
  • Huge variety of these baits. If earlier it was enough to take only a “spoon” and one “spinner” for fishing, now you can purchase a whole collection of a wide variety of spinners. At the same time, their price will be an order of magnitude lower than that of branded wobblers, rattlins or mysterious Devons.
  • Basically, all spinners are pretty heavy lures. And this means that you can throw them much further than a light wobbler. This fact is not the last during the autumn flashing of pike. After all, a predator can move a decent distance from the shore, and even the most catchy wobbler will not be able to “finish off” it.

To make pike fishing successful with a lure, select it in accordance with the fishing conditions - depth, current, features of the reservoir, etc.

It is generally accepted that in cloudy weather it is better to use bright shiny baubles, and in clear weather - matte, faded colors and even black. But it should be remembered that on fishing, sometimes everything happens against all the rules and logic.

Successful pike fishing on spinners, no tail, no scales!
