Winter pike fishing

The design of the vent can be found in detail in the photo. Its base is made of textolite with a cut for threading the fishing line and a hole opposite the reel so that the fishing line can fall perpendicularly into the hole.

The textolite also has fasteners made of aluminum strips and designed for the spring and coil stand. The design is easily disassembled, therefore it is quite convenient in terms of transportation.

Let's go directly to how to catch on the zherlitsa. At the end of the fishing line there is a leash and a tee. We make a hole, place a removable weight on the carabiner near the hook and throw it into the hole made in the ice. This determines the depth of this section of the reservoir.

After lowering the load to the bottom, the assembled vent is put in place. Next, the fishing line is reeled up until the load is lifted by about 10 cm from the bottom (there will be a live bait). The zherlitsa is going into working condition (at the same time, it is necessary to support the reel so that the fishing line does not wind back), after which the fishing line is pulled out of the water.

Next, the load is removed from the rig and the live bait clings to the tee (how to put the live bait on is a purely individual matter for each fisherman). We lower the bait into the pond and set the bait back into place. Under such conditions, the live bait will swim exactly at the depth that the fisherman needs.

For effective fishing, the installation of one vent, of course, will not be enough, therefore it is appropriate to place several vents in different areas, in particular at the places of transition from depth to aground. Further, it is logical to move the vents to where the bite is better.

How to cut girdles

Do not immediately pull the fishing line as soon as you see a twitching flag. You should delicately wind up the part of the fishing line wound by the predator, reaching only a slight resistance, and only then cut sharply and quickly pull the fishing line to the surface. It is advisable to have a hook with you in order to calmly pull the pike onto the ice. Often, the fisherman has to gouge the hole on the go in order to pull out the predator, so it is better to initially make the hole wider.

A fisherman who practices bait fishing and who has fallen for the period of pike zhora in winter will not agree that this type of fishing is boring and not very effective. The greatest pleasure comes from first ice fishing, when the ice is not yet too thick and the predatory pike is active.

Another tool for pike fishing is a trap, which you can learn more about.
