Comments. Independent travel technology

How to live and travel inexpensively and independently in Asia and beyond. I continue the theme of independent travel. In this part, I will dwell in more detail on the search for budget air tickets.

We open aggregator sites in the browser to search for the cheap air tickets we need so much and monitor several at once: http://www.makemytrip.com/ http://www.expedia.com/ http://www.whichbudget.com http:/ /www.kayak.com/ Russian-speaking: http://ru.momondo.com/ http://avia.travel.ru/ http://www.aviasales.ru/

Now on all these sites we search and compare ticket prices and convenient dates.

Expand the geography of your ticket search. You can fly from a neighboring city, (for example, if you live in Kemerovo, it may be more profitable to find tickets from Novosibirsk). You can also fly to neighboring a city - for example, the Chinese metropolitan cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen are separated by only a hundred kilometers, or to Hong Kong, which is also not far away. On some aggregator sites it is possible to add the nearest airports to the search (Include nearby airports).

Please note that aggregator sites often charge a commission for their services. Therefore, having roughly decided on the airline, find the official website of the airline itself and check the prices on it.
Websites of all airlines in the world:: http://airlinecontact.info/

It is necessary to be critical of the options offered by aggregator sites, as practice shows, they do not give out all possible flight options. You need to turn on your brains and look at the map.

Once again I will note the airline AirAsia, almost indispensable in Southeast Asia, it has low-cost flights to India, and more recently from Kuala Lumpur to London, Paris, Tokyo (the geography of flights is expanding). The main center of this airline is located in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, from which most flights are operated. Their food on the plane is not free, rather high fees are charged for overweight luggage. (you can take 15kg of luggage for free, for additional weight it is more profitable to pay in advance via the Internet at the time of buying tickets), but regular sales please with their prices, and the service and aircraft are quite acceptable. For a small additional fee, you can choose a seat in the cabin directly on the site, for a slightly higher fee, you can buy a seat with more legroom. Be aware that if you have already bought a ticket, changing something in it (for example, a lot of luggage) will cost you a lot, AirAsia will charge a special fee for this Spoilage Fee wtf?

You need a card to buy Visa or master card. Visa Electron, most likely, will not be suitable for settlement. I use an Alfa-Bank Visa card, with two accounts linked to it - in rubles and in dollars. The dollar account is the main one. If you buy tickets on a card with a ruble account, then it is possible that the price of your ticket will be converted into a currency not at the most favorable rate. Keep in mind that many airlines, when checking in for a flight, ask you to show the card with which the purchase was made and if you bought a ticket using your friend's card (take a friend to the airport for confirmation) or on a "virtual" card, then you may not be put on a flight.

Hello friends! Now summer is in full swing, and many are already planning wintering or traveling to the countries of Southeast Asia. Of course, everyone wants to buy cheap flights around the region, and there is such an opportunity! Fortunately, there is a wonderful airline Air Asia (Air Asia), from which you can get cheap flights throughout Asia. We will talk about buying tickets on the official website of the company today.

This article is primarily intended for beginners who are not familiar with the various tricks and tricks of airlines when buying tickets, and the air asia website is just a vivid illustration of this behavior :-)

How to buy cheap flights to Asia

Air Asia (Air Asia) has a fairly extensive network of flights throughout the region (you can see an interactive map here. Their hubs (main transit airports) are Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Chiang Mai, Tokyo and some other major cities. The company was recognized the best low-cost airline in the world 4 times, and even has its own network of budget hotels.

Air Asia offers cheap flights, but you can get even cheaper if you take on sales, which are arranged quite often, usually from Monday. But in the process of issuing tickets, if you do not uncheck the boxes, the attractive price increases decently - we will tell you how to avoid this below.

Since this is a low-cost airline, luggage, meals on board, seat selection and some other services are paid extra. Often these options are not needed, or they can be sacrificed for the sake of an inexpensive flight. We will tell you in more detail how to buy air tickets in Asia and not only on the official website of the company.

Buying tickets on the Air Asia website - instructions

For example, take the route Bali-Kuala Lumpur. Don't be put off by the big numbers in the screenshots ;-) , these are prices in Indonesian Rupiah (1 USD = 13,476 IDR at the time of writing).

1. Register on the official website To do this, click on the link shown in the screenshot, fill in the fields: e-mail, password, and so on. I think this operation will not raise questions and is familiar to many. Why register? In the future, you can manage your bookings, change your name, dates, pay for luggage, meals, and so on.

Registration on the Air Asia website

2. We score the desired route and number, one way or back and forth. In our case, the cost of a Bali-Kuala Lumpur ticket is a little over $40.

When there is a sale, the prices are marked as "promo". We select the option that is suitable in terms of time and cost, and the final price is displayed on the right side. In our case, for two people.

Air Asia immediately offers some additional options (seat selection, the ability to change the date, 20 kg of luggage, meals on the plane), although the ticket price doubles. By the way, now the airline has two types of fares - Low Fare and Premium Flex.

3. Next, it is proposed to add baggage or select "no baggage". Since Air Asia is a low-cost airline, luggage is paid, and hand luggage allowed on board is no more than 7 kg. Surcharge for 20 kg of luggage - about 14 dollars. There are also additional paid services (food, seat selection), here it is at your discretion, we did not buy anything. I don't see the point in paying for a seat.

At the very bottom, there is automatically a checkmark “I want insurance from Air Asia”. Take it or not - you decide. Just know that there is an option to put "no".

Selecting additional options

5. Again, Air Asia offers VIP service and airport transfers, if you need these options, order them. But what about VIP service? We take cheap air tickets to Asia here :) A transfer may well come in handy, but often you can leave faster on a regular bus and for the same money.

6. Next, fill in the payment information, select the payment method (in our case, this is a bank card, specify its details, click complete. The site does not ask for passport data, but don't worry - they fit in when you check in online for a flight. Everything is pretty clear here, " Card Issuer" write the name of your bank in English, but "Card issuing country" the country of issue of the card. By the way, a fee of $ 4 is charged for card payment.

Filling in payment information Air Asia website

7. You are redirected to the payment gateway of your bank, where you confirm the payment with a one-time SMS password.

8. Purchase completed successfully — confirmed! An itinerary receipt is sent to the mail, although you can immediately print it from here or go to manage your booking.

Completion of the purchase

Tickets are non-refundable, or rather the fares themselves, and the fees can be returned minus a small commission, a separate article was written about this - quite simply.

Check-in for a flight opens 14 days before departure, this can be done online for free, or by paying extra for choosing a seat. Check-in at the Air Asia counter at the airport is also free (opens 3 hours before departure and ends 1 hour), except for domestic flights in Indonesia and Malaysia. Be careful!

After check-in, you can add baggage, meals, change the date of departure (if it is provided by the tariff, but no later than 48 hours before departure).

A little later we will write another article, where we will analyze the main issues related to air tickets and Air Asia flights.

How to buy cheap flights to Asia, for example? Cheap flights

In conditions of downshifting, cut budgets, the desire to spend less and earn more - a good habit is being trained to count every penny, and we are looking for cheap flights! And when a person goes on a trip, booking air tickets turns into a real hunt for something that is supposed to be for you, but it is hidden from you. One of the most painless options for those who do not want to bother about discounts, and stays at airports - there are many sites where you can buy air tickets, and in a couple of clicks you will receive the coveted flight reservation by e-mail, print it out and go to pack your bags. I will not show meticulously how to buy air tickets, but some convenient options for buying tickets online you should know. For example, I use sites such as:

  1. Cheap flights - MOMONDO

http://www.momondo.ru

The site has the ability to immediately track the cost of plane tickets for a certain period, for example, a month.

Momondo Tickets Online

  1. Cheap flights - SKYSCANNER

The convenience of using the site lies in the fact that here you can also choose the flight schedule, depending on what your budget is. Of course, if you have time. For example, let's take a flight from Ukraine to India.

Skyscanner - Flight Booking

1 - I chose flights from Ukraine to India.

2 - I decide if I need a return ticket

3 - I want to see the price breakdown for air tickets (including the cheapest air tickets)

After I am given an approximate price range, I choose, say, the lowest price, and look at where the flight is from and where the flight is from.

Skyscanner - Airline Tickets

I can see that, for example, in this case it will be air travel with the help of airlines such as flydubai (flydubai), Aeroflot (Aeroflot) and Turkish Airlines (Turkish Airlines). I click on the price again and see this alignment:

Skyscanner - Flights

Okay, of course, you will have to fly with Aeroflot + Turkish Airlines. I click on the price again, and I see airfare prices for the whole month.

Skyscanner - sale of air tickets

Great, I can see that there are flights at very competitive prices, like $262 dollars. I click and buy.

Usually, though, my eyes widen a little afterward, as the price jumps up a little due to markups, surcharges, taxes, overlays, and the enforced use of various types of payments. How to get rid of such goodness, in a particular case with local Asian airlines (air asia), read in my next one. Low-cost sometimes also knows how to surprise.

  1. Cheap flights - AVIASALES

Aviasales - buying air tickets

Buying tickets online through the airsales website is a matter of a couple of clicks, although the price range on the site allows you to determine flight prices only in the range of plus or minus 3 days from the date on which you approximately expect to fly. And then, this function can be seen only after the primary filter of flights. Maybe, of course, I'm inattentive, and this could have been changed somewhere, but that's why I'm a user, so as not to wander around the site in search of relief. If the feature is not visible, then the feature is not visible.

If after the initial filtering of tickets, I can’t find something interesting, I click “Change search parameters”.

Aviasales - choice of tickets

And I get the opportunity to change the dates by plus or minus 3 days.

Aviasales - how to buy the cheapest tickets online

In practice, to book flights, I use this combination:

1) I am looking through Momondo or Skyscanner for dates that clearly have interesting flight prices

2) I go to Aviasales and buy a ticket for a certain date.

So how do you buy the cheapest flights to Asia?

Finally. There is such a thing as low-cost airlines, and there is an opportunity to fly to the desired city in Asia through connections that I share on my own.

Because there is a wonderful airline that makes life easier for all budget travelers like you and me, friends. This low-cost allows you to sometimes fly from Delhi to Tokyo, for example, for $17. Cool?

The scheme works like this:

2) We are looking for the cities closest to our native lands, to which our local native Slavic airlines fly, or just any low-cost airlines.

Write in the comments below and I will answer you how to purchase the course at a discount. I'll be glad to help! Glory

Each trip for me begins with the search and purchase of air tickets. I think it is not a secret for many that most of the travel budget is the budget for air tickets, especially if you are flying to Southeast Asian countries. So today let's talk about how and where to buy cheap flights .

How I love flying! And airports don't annoy me 🙂

To search and buy tickets, I advise you to use the aviaseles.ru mega search engine. I use this site all the time and can safely recommend it for buying tickets. The search engine searches for air tickets according to the specified parameters (arrival city, departure city, dates) across multiple booking sites and displays the results in ascending order of cost. Just fill out the form below and wait for the search results

1. Time

The earlier you start looking for flights before your planned departure, the more likely you are to buy cheap flights with a convenient departure time. For long holidays, such as, and other long weekend tickets, I advise you to buy very early - a year in advance. (yes, yes, for a year! Or even earlier). Do not expect to buy cheap tickets for the holidays just before the flight, this is very unlikely.

2. Buying a ticket right there and back

As a rule, round-trip tickets cost almost as much as a one-way ticket. Therefore, if you are flying on vacation for a week or two or know exactly when you plan to return home even after, take tickets right there and back.

This rule most often does not apply to flights within Russia, Ukraine or other CIS countries. For example, a ticket Moscow - Kyiv - Moscow usually costs me exactly as much as two tickets Moscow - Kyiv and Kyiv - Moscow. It is the same with flights, for example, from Moscow to Krasnodar or from Moscow to Simferopol.

3. Play around with dates

If it doesn't matter to you which day to fly out, try playing around with the dates. Flights in the middle of the week are usually cheaper than flights on Fridays and Saturdays. The aviasales.ru search engine has this option - search for air tickets on selected dates +/- 3 days.

4. Low price calendar

Take advantage low price calendar: it is very convenient to immediately see on what dates what prices for air tickets

A very handy feature on the site is a low price calendar.

5. Play with the city of departure or arrival

If you plan to visit several cities or countries in one trip, I advise you to play around and look at the prices for flights to different cities and countries.

For example, you want to fly to, but do not mind seeing other cities and countries in Asia along the way. Then you can buy a flight Moscow - Bangkok and Bangkok - Koh Samui or, for example, Moscow - Hong Kong and Hong Kong - Koh Samui, or Moscow - Phuket and Phuket - Koh Samui.

Or maybe you want to relax in Malaysia or Singapore? Most often, a Moscow-Singapore or Moscow-Kuala Lumpur flight is more expensive than a Moscow-Bangkok composite flight, and then a Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur flight by air.

The same goes for flights to Indonesia. The flight Moscow - Denpasar is usually very expensive, so they often fly to Denpasar via Jakarta or via Kuala Lumpur, combining the main flight from Moscow with low-cost airlines in Asia.

Likewise with the Philippines. For example, You can fly to the Philippines very inexpensively via Hong Kong. Aeroflot often has promotions from Moscow to Hong Kong for 12-16 thousand rubles per person for a round-trip ticket, and from Hong Kong you can fly to Manila or Cebu for 50-150 dollars! (so we already flew a couple of years ago).

Same with the city of departure. Most often it is cheaper to fly from Moscow (if you live in Russia) or from Kyiv (if you live in Ukraine).

6. Don't be afraid to fly with transfers

Do not be afraid to take tickets for a flight with transfers. In most cases, flights with transfers are cheaper than direct flights. I flew to Asia only once without a transfer, all other times the flights were with connections. If the connection is 2-3 hours, it's generally super: you can get off the plane, warm up, buy something in duty free. But you should not be afraid of long connections either, you can read about our flight with an 8-hour connection in Doha. And about the flight to Mexico with a connection in Madrid -.

Usually these airlines have good sales a few times a year.

If you have not yet chosen exactly where you want to fly on vacation or for the weekend, use the low price card. When you click on the map, a map will open where you can select the city of departure, departure dates, duration of stay, visa or visa-free countries, and budget. After that, you will see options for flights to different countries and cities according to the specified parameters. All you have to do is choose a place to rest 😎

Now you know how and where you can buy cheap tickets. I wish you a successful search! If you have questions about finding and buying tickets, compiling routes, paying for and receiving tickets - feel free to ask questions in the comments, I will help you as much as I can! And don't forget to subscribe to my blog and my channel

Once again, Qatar Airways had an error in airfare pricing, thanks to which it is possible to fly very cheaply from Russia to Asia. A wide choice of destinations (Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.) and dates. Take advantage of it!

This is the wrong rate. It is not known how long these prices will last. Book as soon as possible! You can read more about booking flights at the wrong rate in our guide on how to search for cheap flights correctly.

Ticket Search. Tickets at this price can only be purchased by compiling a complex flight route. You can do this on the search engines Aviasales, Buruki and Skyscanner. To find the best price, check in all three and see tickets for different dates. A prerequisite is a departure from Yekaterinburg, and a return to another city in Russia: the cheapest way is to return to Moscow, as well as the good cost of air tickets for returns to St. Petersburg, Kazan, Perm, Ufa. That is, the flight route should look like this: Yekaterinburg → a city in Asia → Moscow or another city of the Russian Federation.

Yekaterinburg - Colombo - Moscow for 17,395 rubles. in February 2016 (find these tickets >>):

Ekaterinburg - Colombo - Kazan for 18,357 rubles. in February 2016 (
