Petrovac or Budva which is better. Review: petrovac montenegro deceit or truth

May 8th, 2014 09:02 am

This post will be dedicated to Budva and two more coastal towns in Montenegro:
Petrovac (located near Budva).
Ulcinj (southern city 18 km from Albania)

1. St. Stephen's Island to attract attention :)

To start a small off.
The concepts of "rest", "comfort" and "service" are very relative.

Someone is accustomed to relaxing in the private sector of the Crimea and will admire the good bed linen of a three-star hotel.
And praise this hotel (which is up to three stars as far as the moon) on booking.com.
And someone else will complain about the flaws of a five-star luxury place.
And all these opinions will, for example, be true! But everything is relative.

When I choose places to travel, hotels and restaurants, I always rely on the opinions of people whose experience and preferences minimally coincide with mine.
And less often - on Internet reviews.
Because for the reviews on the network, I alternately draw for myself those who are comfortable spending the night even in the car. And who loves instant coffee. That glamorous hysterics, which are too small for usritse :) and I divide everything by a hundred :)

I liked the Montenegrin sea resorts, as well as the country itself.
But if someone also happens to have Montenegro, it will be different, its own. So you can just look at the pictures and believe nothing :)))

About Budva below will be very detailed, I'll start with a quick overview of two other towns.

Petrovac.

2. That is what I will be happy to consider during the inter-Schengen period or in the company of someone who does not have a visa. Or I fly for the weekend. I even looked at the hotel :)

3. I really love such small towns, which were once just fishing villages.

4. Gloomy, but beautiful. Reminds me a bit of the Sicilian town of Giardini Naxos.

5. Warm up after the bus.

6. View from the pier. A lot is being built, and it's great.

7. But there are a lot of abandoned houses, yes, and right on the first coast.

8. I liked Petrovac. If you are not really interested in civilization, defile along the embankment and nightclubs, but you want a reservation, originality and behind the scenes - you are here.
About the infrastructure, alas, I will not say, but there were cafes and bars too. There are shops for sure.

Ultsin.

9. This city left a double impression.

10. He is very ... southern. Albanians live here. That is, Muslims. I have absolutely nothing against Muslims, but consciously I would not come here for a beach holiday.
I was in a long skirt. Cars passing by honked. Do you understand? :)

For the sake of interest, I surfed and read rare reviews about Ulcinj.
Tourists write that the city is dirty, and there are only kebabs in the cafe :)
I won’t say about kebabs - we were fed in a very decent restaurant. Delicious, fishy and varied :)

I can’t say for sure what is in this city with food in reality. But we all know that often reviews about "kebab in the whole city" are written after visiting one institution.
11.

As for dirt...
Ummm.. I'm definitely going to be the bad cop here.
In Ulcinj, there is a very beautiful embankment, a chic medieval fortress, where the mayor personally accompanied us. Intelligent man, professor.
Everything in the city was clean (albeit graffiti), around the fortress too. Until I looked down the back of it.
In the "backyards" near the walls, right on the embankment, there was such a dump that it seemed that even its smell reached me. Two dozen meters from the place where we were told about the improvement and order.
That is, you know, such a very selective purity :)

12. Well, nothing, I hope that by the next visit, groups of journalists will be properly removed not only from the facade :)

13. View of Ulcinj from the city fortress.

Budva

As I already wrote, we lived in Budva, in a hotel complex on the outskirts. On the beach, ten minutes from the center.
Due to the busy program, there was not enough time for the Montenegrin resort capital.

14. But one evening, after returning from excursions, we nevertheless washed / changed clothes and went for a walk along the embankment to the Old Town of Budva.

15. The Adriatic was calm and foreshadowed good weather.
We were not very lucky with the weather, as you can see from the photo :))

16. Budva Promenade - palm trees and numerous cafes, some of which we managed to test.
I especially recommend Il Porto, where one day the organizers gave us a wonderful dinner. Decent place on the first line.

17. Favorite time of the day - when the city is preparing for dinner, tables are served on the terraces.
From everywhere - crazy aromas of pizza from wood-fired ovens and grilled fish.

18. The little one also went out for a walk.

19. Estimated prices for the lunch menu. Haven't tried it so I can't say how it is.
And in our orchestra In Italy, I took such a complex several times, and each time I was not very lucky.
Often the so-called "tourist menu" is a layout for those who come to the institution for the first and last time.
Well, like, my favorite octopus salad is three tentacle trimmings with eraser flavor, three lettuce leaves, an olive and two tomato slices, yes, so divide by a hundred :)

20. The main surprise of Budva is the city wifi! Free and passwordless.
Huge plus.

21. We dive to the fortress gates and find ourselves in the Old Town of Budva.

22. Narrow streets, souvenir shops, cozy cafes... a classic of the European Middle Ages.

23. Near each bar - a table to sit overlooking the city.

24. People live in the old city, as they did many centuries ago - the entrance, as expected, is directly from the streets, without any porches and stairs.

25. In the fortress of the Old City, in some places there are observation platforms with picturesque views.

26. Bye Julia nyashka separated and went shopping, I met a very funny young female dog.

27. So that she would not jump from the fortress onto the rocks after the cat, she had to be pulled by the tail.

28. Colorful squares.

29. Cafe windows with all utensils.

30. Full reputation!

31. And a little about what I did NOT like in Montenegro.
In Montenegro, a lot of people smoke. And right in some cafes, bars and restaurants. Yes. Inside.
In many establishments, it was possible to hang an ax, especially when football was shown.

32. Children barkers in cafes and shops.
I am not opposed to children helping as much as they can and want.
But when you see the same child during the day without a panama hat and his own eight hours later, I want to believe that the child was at least fed.

What else catches your eye: unlike the rest of Europe (where even the buyer can be fined for a fake), there are fakes at every turn. In the shops of Budva and other cities there are almost only fakes. Directly our Impulse.
Moreover, they are not standing on the ruins of African Americans, but not at all worthless.

33. So, in a boutique with a photo, a fake Chanel cost 280 euros. Well, that is, the type with a claim that it can be real - for the unknowing.

Perhaps there are no more such direct minuses.

34. A few more pictures of the Montenegrin evening resort capital.

35.

36.

37.
That evening in Budva promised to be the only one, because the rest of the days were filled with new trips.
And then ... Yulia and I juliesecret We decided to take a full day of sightseeing.

At first it was a pity, because the program of each day was special. But then we conferred and decided that a pause was needed in order to live it in the format of "an ordinary day of a real lazy resort girl."

And on the last day, instead of sitting on the bus at 7 in the morning, we got enough sleep, took our swimwear and went to breakfast on the embankment.
They took the same complex. For general information: pancakes, freshly squeezed carrot juice and latte - 8 euros.

38. (I didn’t order crayfish, crayfish is a strong compliment from a 52 degree institution).

39. It was the first 100% sunny day! Incredibly warm, serene, very summer sea day.

40.
Every now and then we met someone from our group ... Without saying a word, many decided to skip the last day :) We were tired :)
Yulia and I spent half a day on the beach, I opened the swimming season.
Then again we walked around Budva.

41. There are many fishermen in the port. You can go fishing or on a sea excursion.
Ride on a boat - 20 euros per hour.

42. Sunny Budva turned out to be even more beautiful.

43. Local :)

44. Tourists

45. Wonderful English girls

46. Paradise weather! It was a pity that we were leaving the next day...
As usual, one more day was not enough for the perfect layout. It always happens.

47. At sunset, we

In the section on the question Montenegro: Petrovac or Budva? given by the author to dry the best answer is The city of Budva - the heart of the Budva Riviera - was first mentioned in written sources in the 5th century. BC. He has retained the beauty and attractiveness of antiquity to this day. Budva is located in the Central part of the Montenegrin coast, in one of the sunniest places on the Adriatic. The old town is unusually good, with its crooked, narrow streets, small squares, numerous cafes, restaurants and shops. All any small pebbles and a promenade along the waterfront. Today Budva is a city of festivals and celebrations, a summer stage for various cultural events, and simply the most famous place on the Montenegrin coast.
Petrovac - Located in a bay along a beach covered with red small pebbles. Surrounded by dense pine forests and olive groves. In the town there are ancient monuments that have been perfectly preserved to this day: Roman mosaics (III century BC), the Venetian fortress “Castello”, temples and churches. Opposite Petrovac are two picturesque islands Katic and St. Nedelya. A large number of sunny days a year, warm, clear sea and magnificent beaches: the city beach of Petrovac, Lucice, Buljarica - provide tourists with a pleasant stay. Near the seashore there is a central pedestrian street with a large number of restaurants, bars, discos and souvenir shops.
Petrovac is better in my opinion, in August it is still crowded there, but in mid-September it will be just right. Write in more detail and I will tell you about the prices.

Answer from Request[newbie]
if you don’t care about parties, then definitely Petrovac, it’s quiet and cozy there, and most importantly -
no huge crowds

Answer from T Cat[guru]
Budva is like Yalta in Crimea. It is beautiful, there are places to go, but also a lot of people. On the beach and in the sea (the bodies lie and swim back to back). And on the streets. But in principle, from Budva you can walk / ride / sail on a boat to other less crowded and more comfortable beaches.
I haven’t been to Petrovac myself, but I read about it when I was choosing a tour, I liked it according to the description. The only negative is that it is far from Budva 🙂
We lived in Becici - fewer people, calmer, and only 3 km to Budva (you can drive up on foot or on a train tour). We went to Budva to see the Old Town, take a walk along the embankment in the evening, and from Budva we went on our own to Kotor to see the fortress and the bay.

There are doubts whether we will meet the budget. I count on the amount of 100-120 thousand rubles (HB or fb). Wishes for the place of rest: 1. Acceptable entry into the sea for a child 2. Promenade - you need ... bike paths. Animation in the hotel is not important. 3. Meals half board or or does not like going to restaurants (waiting for an order, etc.) 4. Transfer ... 200 thousand or more go out. Is there anything else decent in this place? Or please suggest another area for consideration. I didn’t read about Montenegro at all ...

Adriatis... not important. Petrovac, Rafailovichi- Becici, Herceg Novi - Igalo (+ suburbs), Prcanj - Stoliv. Quote: 3. Meals half board or boarding buffet. The child is quite picky. By cafes or restaurants to go ... questionable. , then, most likely, any specialist will recommend a sanatorium for asthmatics or with an asthma program. And there is only one such on the Adriatic Sea - the Institute named after Simo Milosevic in Igalo .... And since the doctors from Vrmac themselves recommend climatotherapy, there are two options left - or Bay of Kotor (Prcanj-Stoliv) or Igalo. Everything else is just relaxation.

If you are planning to go on a trip to Montenegro, I recommend that you take a closer look at the town of Petrovac - one of the most popular resorts in the country.

Petrovac hid among olive trees and pine forests. The nature here is charming, and the climate is favorable at any time of the year. Holidays in Petrovac are suitable for both family vacations and romantic weekends.

A bit about the history of Petrovac.

The resort village of Petrovac is small, with about 1,500 inhabitants. Located near the large Montenegrin city of Budva.

The first mention of Petrovac dates back to the 12th century, when the city was known as Lastva. A lot of the remaining sights in the city testify to the great influence of the Romans on the development of Petrovac. These are the ruins of the churches of St. Elias, St. Thomas, St. View, the Castello fortress and the remains of Roman mosaics that have survived to this day (all this refers to 4-3 centuries BC).

Since the 16th century, Lastva has belonged to the Republic of Venice. It was a famous fishing village, and only in the 20th century the town gets its modern name.

Petrovac belongs to the resorts of the so-called Budva Riviera, the climate here is mild, typical Mediterranean, the air warms up quickly, and the sea remains warm from May to November. A large number of sunny days are due to the mountains that protect Petrovac from cold weather. And the road to the town lies through olive groves and pine forests.

Petrovac belongs to the municipality of the city of Budva. The holiday season here lasts 300 days and includes various types of entertainment for every taste and budget.

Petrovac is located around a beautiful bay, which has the shape of a horseshoe. The sandy beach stretches for 600 meters, and the color of the sand has an interesting orange-red color.

Although Petrovac is considered primarily a resort, it also has various administrative and cultural buildings, such as a post office, a hospital, a school, a library, a cinema.

In addition to the pines and olive trees mentioned earlier, other exotic trees appear to your gaze: figs, kiwis, grapes, lemons and limes, tangerines and palms.

Entry to the embankment is prohibited for cars, and it is here that numerous hotels, cafes, restaurants, bars, pizzerias and taverns are located.

Also, at the end of the embankment there is a fishing bay, in the summer from which excursions on yachts, ships and ferries depart.

Fans of outdoor activities will also find entertainment. For example:

you can rent a catamaran or jet ski and sail along the coast

"bananas", "pills" are also there :)

you can visit small islands located near the resort, and there you can go scuba diving or visit underwater caves

in summer, festivals are held in Petrovac: the gastronomic festival "Pashticada", the tourist festival "Petrovac Night" or the Jazz Music Festival.

And, of course, when visiting new places, it is important to know the list of attractions that are worth seeing. Below is a list of attractions in Petrovac and its surroundings.

"... One birth is not enough for me,
I would grow from two roots,
It's a pity Montenegro didn't
My second home..."

This is how Vladimir Vysotsky expressed his feelings in poetry. Of course, I am not a poet, and I do not write poetry, but I am also overwhelmed with feelings of happiness, delight, pride and joy from traveling to Montenegro. In my review, I will tell you what I fell in love with this wonderful country.

Here everyone will find what he wants to get from the rest. For young people, excellent beaches, clear sea and rich nightlife. For family holidays - good hotels, delicious dishes, hospitality of Montenegrins. And for lovers of excursions, Montenegro will be a godsend.

Excursions in Montenegro

Despite its small size, Montenegro has such a diverse nature and so many unique places that many countries can envy it. One of the most interesting excursions is full day trip to Skandarian lake. It impresses with its size: length 14 km, width 5 km, depth 7 meters, and in some places 10-40 meters. The tour is carried out on a boat, includes swimming, fish lunch, photos with lilies and indelible impressions of the beauties seen. By the way, there are a lot of fish and birds on this lake, stock up on bread - birds fly up to the boat itself, and sometimes they swim up with whole families.

Just like a trip to the Skandarian Lake, unforgettable impressions for a lifetime will leave excursion to Belasitsa mountain. One of the most mountain ranges in the northern regions of Montenegro. After 130 km you will find yourself on the territory of the mountain in a completely new environment, very different from the picture of the sea coast. Before you start your trip up the mountain, you will be offered a breakfast made from the purest local products. The main purpose of the trip is to get acquainted with the untouched, virgin, nature of the nat. Parka. This is the only virgin forest in Europe. The mountain is strewn with lakes, springs with the purest water. After touching views and spiritual relaxation, you will be offered a lunch in nature, also from local products.

You can talk about excursions for a long time, especially those that open up the natural beauties and wonders of Montenegro. In addition to them, Montenegro, as a primordially Orthodox country, is famous for a huge number of ancient Orthodox monasteries, one of which I was lucky to visit. His name Prison. Given to him by the name of the mountain in which he was built in 1665.

The prison rises at an altitude of 1000 meters, the road that leads to the monastery is 100 years old, it is very dangerous, steep, serpentine, it does not have more than one fence, the traffic is one-way and despite all this, not a single accident has occurred here in 100 years . They say that St. Basil of Ostrog, whose relics are kept in the monastery, helps everyone who goes up and down this road. The place is actually very holy, people of different faiths, from all over the world are trying to get here. The guide will tell you about the miracles that happened here and are still happening. Here you can buy icons, light candles and just stand and admire the beauty of the Montenegrin region opening from a height.

I will briefly try to describe the main resort cities and.

Budva

I'll start with the main resort center of Montenegro -. There is almost everything here: discos, restaurants and bars, casinos, sports grounds, tennis courts. This place is ideal for lovers of active and fun holidays. Here, the fortress walls encircling the Old Town have been preserved, inside which there are picturesque narrow winding streets, small squares, numerous cafes. In just a few minutes you can swim to the island of St. Nicholas - a romantic place for walking. All this, as well as unique beaches (Mogren, Slavic beach, Jaz), attract many tourists every year.

Hotels in Budva:
- the hotel is very well located, near the Old Town and a five-minute walk to the entire infrastructure of Budva. It has an extraordinary design that not everyone will like - I mean the interior design of the hotel, the predominance of black throughout the hotel and the twilight reigning here. The service at the hotel is very good. Not suitable for families.
- the hotel is located 500 meters from the Old Town. Surrounded by a park area, a huge area. It is a village of 11 buildings with many bars, restaurants and shops. I draw your attention to very economical rooms. Some of them were renovated in 2006, but most of the rooms are very simple, starting with furniture, plumbing. Recommended for youth recreation.
- included in the complex, rooms of the same plan as in Slavenska Plaza. Also calculated for youth recreation. When choosing these hotels, you need to take into account that in some rooms in the evening and until late at night you can hear noise from nearby entertainment venues.
- located at the exit from Budva, chic pine area, very economical rooms. Suitable for young people and families without children, because there is nothing for them in this hotel.

Becici

It is located 3-4 km from Budva. The resort is surrounded by greenery. A feature of this resort town is the presence of a wide sandy beach. Good for families with children, youth recreation, because. the nightlife of Budva is within easy reach.

Becici Hotels:
We lived in a hotel - I really liked the hotel, good rooms, food, territory, beach, water park, chic massage in the spa center of this hotel, I advise everyone, it is called Montenegrin massage.
- decent hotel. The first coastline, a good beach, luxurious rooms, varied food, animation, a huge SPA-center. Guests of the hotel can use the Finnish, aroma and Turkish saunas, jacuzzi, indoor pools, showers with the effect of tropical rain and ice fog for free.
- a small cozy hotel, practically without territory. It has its own beach, but sunbeds and umbrellas are paid (3 euros, a set for the day). There is an outdoor pool. I would not recommend this hotel for families with children. There is nothing for them.
- four-storey building, comfortable rooms. Private beach, sunbeds and umbrellas for free. Works on the ALL system. The territory is small. On the territory there is a playground.

Rafailovici

A small fishing resort town, about 6 km from Budva and 2 km from Becici. Not distinguished by special vegetation, but known for its many fish restaurants.

Rafailovici Hotels:
- a small private hotel on the beach. Has no territory. Economy rooms, two meals a day. Good value for money.
- The hotel is located at the entrance to the village. To the sea about 500 meters. Good numbers. There is practically no territory. Very suitable for families without children and youth recreation.

Petrovac

The resort is comfortably located on the shore of a bay surrounded by greenery with small red pebbles. An unforgettable atmosphere of romantic antiquity is created by the preserved Venetian fortress of Castello, ancient city buildings, narrow streets. It has its own promenade with restaurants, bars, shops and discotheques. Good fit both for young people and for families.

Petrovac Hotels:
- very green, well-groomed territory. Good number of rooms. Ideal for a family vacation, because. the hotel has a whole building with family rooms for 2 + 2 accommodation.
- in the center of Petrovac, 100 meters to the beach. Very green area. Cozy rooms.

Przno

A tiny fishing village where life still flows unhurried rhythms. Settled on the shore of a rocky bay. Quiet rest in the bosom of gorgeous nature. To Budva 6 km.

Przno Hotels:
- one of the best hotels in Montenegro. Good numbers. Ideal for families with children, for them there is a children's pool, playground, mini-club. The very good location of the hotel allows you to take walks to the luxurious beaches, until recently closed to visitors. There is a casino in the hotel with a hall for entertainment, it works daily with a music program. Entrance for hotel guests is free.

Ulcinj

One of the oldest, most attractive and most picturesque cities on the coast. Currently, Ulcinj is decorated with beautiful kilometer-long beaches and places for recreation. To the south of the city, the so-called Big 12.5-kilometer beach extends to the confluence of the Boyana River into the sea. Fine healing sand is rich in salt and iodine, it contributes to the treatment of rheumatism and nervous diseases.

Ulcinj Hotels:
- the hotel is surrounded by a pine forest. Consists of 2 buildings (A and B). In building "A" a higher level of accommodation, in building "B" - an economical type of accommodation for young people.
- a good option for relaxation. Cozy rooms, 400 meters to go down to the sea, because. the hotel is on a hill.
- a small hotel of a famous chain. And it immediately catches the eye. Very good rooms, ALL meals. Gorgeous beach, good animation.

Resort town with developed infrastructure. Lots of markets, bars, restaurants. But there are not many hotels, we only looked at one.

Bar Hotels:
- near the center of Bar. On the beach, sunbeds, umbrellas for free. Good rooms, small space. There is nothing for children. Works on the HB system. Lunch at the hotel restaurant will cost approximately 15 euros.

Herceg Novi

City of eternal greenery, sun and stairs. He climbs in terraces up the slopes of Mount Orjen. The city is full of vegetation: palm trees, mimosas, oleanders, cacti, magnolias…

Hotels in Herceg Novi:
- the hotel is located on the seashore, among the greenery. Ideal for family holidays. Good, comfortable rooms. Playground. Entrance to the sea from a concrete platform.
- on the beach, near restaurants, bars. Good numbers. But the hotel is very small and there is no territory as such. I do not recommend for families with children.
- Decent hotel for families. Three beaches, one of them for nudists. Good number of rooms, many rooms for large families. Almost all rooms have a sea view. Works on the HB system.

Risan

The oldest city on the territory of Boka Kotorska Bay. Very quiet and secluded place. Rest in it guarantees peace and quiet. There are no bars or restaurants here. It is also not suitable for family holidays.

Risan Hotels:
- located on the coast. Entrance to the sea is a pebble/platform. Sunbeds and umbrellas for free. The number of rooms is very economical, because. The hotel was built in the 80s.

Of course, there are many hotels in Montenegro, and, as I said, everyone can find what suits him best. I will be happy to help you choose the one that suits your wishes and possibilities! Call!
