Beautiful hotel in the Art Nouveau style on Gogolevsky Boulevard, I noticed a long time ago. And the other day on TV I watched an interview with I. Kostolevsky in an elegant interior, and from the window I saw a piece of the boulevard. I immediately recognized this place, and since I am an ardent fan of Art Nouveau, I decided to find out what was inside. On the Internet I found information about the restaurant "Gogolevsky, 31". Information is very scarce, there are few reviews. My husband and I were planning our wedding anniversary, and we really wanted to celebrate it somehow unusually. I went early to book a table. When I entered the restaurant, there was a feeling that I was transported a hundred years ago. The interior was so impressive that at first I just stood and looked around. Wooden panels, furniture, elegant chairs, Tiffany stained glass, chic chandeliers on the ceiling and, as their continuation, a stucco pattern, porcelain vases on the fireplace and large plates on the walls, floral motifs on furniture, panels, and simply in the form of fresh flowers, huge windows, draped with soft pink curtains. I saw something similar in the pictures of the interiors of old Moscow mansions in the Art Nouveau style or in the mansions themselves, which act as museums. But it was not a museum, here people sat at the tables, ate and talked, pleasant music played, fresh flowers stood. Then a waiter came up to me, we had a pleasant conversation, I looked at the wine list and the menu. I was offered to choose hot snacks in advance so that they would be ready for our arrival. I must say right away that the restaurant is expensive. The menu is not too varied, about 5 items in each section: appetizers, fish, meat, game, etc. Prices from 300 to 2100 depending on the chosen dish. On the day of the celebration, we arrived on time, a table set for 4 people by the fireplace was waiting for us, a candle, the waiter immediately put the brought flowers in a vase. When the choice is not great, it is easier to make an order, but here the dishes were somewhat tricky, so I had to consult with the waiter. We were alone in the restaurant, so all the attention during the evening was focused only on our table. The dishes were brought to us as soon as they were ready, the portions were very large, one portion of hot food was enough to satisfy our hunger, but with a salad or soup, it already turned out to be too much. All dishes were presented in an interesting way. Everything was delicious. It cost us 15,000 for four with a bottle of wine. Before leaving, out of interest, we looked into the hotel lobby and admired the interior. There are more authentic items: sculptures, cabinets, armchairs, clocks, table lamps - everything is incredibly beautiful. The evening went great! We have received what has long been the basis of the human pleasure of "bread and circuses."
