In this article, I will tell you about the most scary places ah in Japan, which categorically cannot be visited. Will you be able to sleep after reading this article?

TB Hospital in Kaizuka City (Osaka Prefecture)

The Kaizuka City Tuberculosis Hospital is one of the most famous places in Osaka Prefecture, where ghosts live. The building was originally built for a school (in 1948), so there is a swimming pool and showers inside. In 1958, it began to serve as a hospital for tuberculosis patients. Medical supplies are still in the building. Since there were many cases of deaths in the hospital, the building is said to be haunted by many ghosts.

Scattered old x-rays can be seen on the floor.

But the worst thing is not scattered things, but the fact that you can feel the warmth of the people who once were here ...

Then we decided to leave this corridor. At this point, N said, "I just heard someone say 'Hey!'". I thought: “I think I also heard something, but because of the sound of footsteps I couldn’t make out.” However, all 11 members of the team confirmed that they heard "Hey!". We hurried to the cars and quickly left the place.

2. Jomon Tunnel (Hokkaido)

The Jōmon Tunnel is located in the eastern part of Hokkaido. It connects Tokoro County and Munbetsu County. The length of the tunnel is 507 meters. In 1914, during construction work, due to very difficult working conditions and lack of food, many workers died right in the tunnel and their corpses were buried right there. In 1968, this tunnel became more famous for the fact that human bones were found in the wall destroyed by the earthquake.

3. Forest in Shizukuishi Village (Iwate Prefecture)

On July 30, 1971, an ANA (All Nippon Airways) plane collided with a military fighter over a forest in the village of Shizukuishi. The accident killed 162 people. Until now, people carry flowers to the established monument.

4. Shitodono Iwaya Rock (Kanagawa Prefecture)

It is known that the rock of Shitodono Iwaya was sheltered by Minamoto no Yorimoto when he was defeated in the war. There are a large number of statues of Jizo (Bodhisattva) here. During the daytime, this is quite an ordinary tourist attraction, but at nightfall the atmosphere changes dramatically. Among the statues of Jizo there are statues with far from kind expressions on their faces. It is said that a person who sees a headless statue of Jizo will soon be visited by death.

5. Hospital in Kasumigaura City (Ibaraki Prefecture)

Initially, this place was the base of the navy, but then the building became one of the buildings of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University. The building is now in ruins. There is no particular reason for the appearance of ghosts here, but horror film fans know that this building has often become a filming location.

So what do you think?

How do you like the places presented? They say that in no case should they be visited, surely there are people who have already wanted to go there? Remember: you may experience such fear that your hair will stand on end; You take full responsibility for possible consequences.

Himuro Mansion

According to legend, the Himuro mansion is a large traditional Japanese house located in a rocky area somewhere on the outskirts of Tokyo. The mansion became famous as the site of the worst massacre in Japanese history.

It was said that the Himuro family practiced ancient, forgotten Shinto rituals that were banned in Japan long ago. One of these occult rituals was called the "Suffocation Ritual", in which a young girl was sacrificially murdered. The purpose of this terrible ritual was to protect the Himuro family from the bad karma they believed was coming out of the portal in the courtyard of the mansion.

The strangulation ritual was performed every fifty years. A baby girl was chosen in the family, who was secretly raised in a mansion. This girl was called "Maiden of the Rope Temple". The girl was not allowed into the world, she lived in complete isolation, otherwise the ritual would not have worked.

When the time came, the girl was brought to the temple in the courtyard and tied with ropes around her arms, legs and neck. Then several bulls began to pull the ropes in different directions, tearing the victim alive into several parts. The bloody ropes were then placed on the portal in the courtyard of the mansion. If the ritual was successful, then bad karma receded from the family for another fifty years.

This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation in the Himuro family. However, while preparing for the final ritual, something went wrong. The Maiden of the Temple of the Rope fell in love with a boy whom she accidentally saw from the window of the mansion. This was a real disaster, because she had to remain pure and free from worldly influences. Her blood and soul were corrupted, and when she was sacrificed, the ritual failed.

Upon learning that the girl was in love, the head of the Himuro family became distraught. He was responsible for the success of the ritual. Fearing that now all misfortunes would fall on the family, he fell into an indescribable rage. He brutally murdered the entire Himuro family by slashing all of the family members with the traditional Japanese katana sword. The head of the family believed that by killing them, he saved them from a more terrible death. When all family members were killed, he fell on his katana and committed suicide.

The locals from the nearby village have been silent about Himuro's mansion and everything that happened there for decades. And then began endless eyewitness accounts of strange events happening in the mansion.

Inside the mansion, all the walls were covered in bloody handprints. Ghosts have been seen here, both at night and in broad daylight. Legend has it that they are the ghosts of murdered members of the Himuro family, and they will attempt to repeat their failed ritual on anyone foolhardy enough to dare enter the abandoned building.

From time to time, the corpses of people who dared to go there are found in the mansion. They have typical rope marks on their arms, legs, and neck, as if they had been strangled. Several corpses were found in the underground network of tunnels under the mansion. The corpses were literally torn into several pieces. No one knows who made these tunnels or what purpose they served, but apparently they were made to perform the Suffocation Ritual.

The mansion also has a window that has gained a bad reputation. It is said that if this window is photographed, then a ghostly image of a young girl in a kimono will appear on the photograph.

These incidents have caused panic among people in Tokyo, and many believe that those who approach this mansion will be cursed. The mystery of the death of seven people found in this building has not yet been solved.

The urban legend of the Himuro mansion has become popular in the west. The haunted house story has become very fashionable. If the legend is true, then the Himuro Mansion is by far the most cursed building in Japan.

San Zhi. Taiwan

At first glance, San Zhi is an ideal city: beautiful well-maintained houses, high-tech dwellings, thoughtful infrastructure, beautiful nature. But not without the “black people” (otherwise the city would not have made it to this chart). Dozens of builders died during the construction of this heavenly abode.

One potential reason is that the city was allegedly built on the site of a former Japanese death camp. As soon as this was trumpeted in the media, investors were no longer able to sell a single house here. The authorities of the country cannot even demolish the cursed place: locals afraid it will free the ghosts.

This is what San Zhi looks like today:

Povela Island. Italy

The island is famous for the fact that in the XIV century plague patients were brought here (there was no chance to cure them, so they left them to die there). And after the death, the corpses were burned - the mass graves were already so full that they could not contain the bodies. The island's soil is said to be 40% human ash.

Another no less terrible fact: a psychiatric hospital was built on the same island in 1922. In it, scientists conducted their insidious experiments on the mentally ill. Such is the fate of the island: strewn with plague, corpses, and a psychiatric hospital with the sick.

Dead End Mary King. Edinburgh

But the authorities of Edinburgh did not find the same island for plague patients. Therefore, it was decided to bring the poor fellows to one of the districts of the city. It turned out to be Mary King - a dead end surrounded by a high wall, behind which the “lucky ones” got acquainted with the “lady in black”.

Winchester house. California

Sarah Winchester claimed that as soon as the sound of hammers during the construction of her house ceased, she would immediately die. Therefore, there are as many as 160 rooms, 40 stairs, dead ends, basements, enclosed spaces without a single entrance, and the devil knows what else. The dwelling was built for 38 years.

"Normal" - you might think. But in vain: as soon as the construction was stopped, Sarah the next day went to the other world.

Aokigahara forest. Japan

The Japanese call it the Suicide Forest. This is because from 1950 to this day people constantly come there to ... die. They say that several thousand people have already said goodbye to their lives there. The tradition has taken root so much that it is honored and supported to this day.

“I screamed at the whole cinema hall in fear!” - the author of ARD Zhanna Idymova once told about her first experience of watching a Japanese horror film. It seems like the movie "The Call" ...

Japanese horror films attract with the style of presentation, and the scary girl climbing out of the well is just a masterpiece of pumping.

You definitely can't refuse this to the Japanese. Deadly pale faces with invariably large frightening eyes, long wet hair covering the face, and a special, incomprehensible to the Western audience, and even more attractive oppressive atmosphere - Japanese horror films are significantly different from other world horror films.

For more than fifteen years, the best Japanese horror - Japanese horror (J-horror, J-horror) has been steadily gaining the attention of horror story fans around the world. Unlike Americans and Europeans, the educated inhabitants of the Country rising sun do not allow yourself to splash negative emotions on others.

Therefore, Japanese horror films seem lighter and at the same time oppressive. Without copious splashes of blood and dismembered bodies, Japanese horror directors are able to create dark, violent pictures with apocalyptic contours. The greatest emphasis is usually placed on the psychological component of horror and the potential expectation of an unforeseen denouement. It is this thriller focus that forms the world's army of maid in japan horror fans.

The permanent characters of "j-horror" - ghosts, poltergeists and yokai - mystical humanoid creatures with different characters, who got into the movies from Japanese folklore. Folk Japanese and world magic is also used: exorcism, foresight, shamanic rites. The wet girl from the videotape not only brought Hideo Nakata's famous film the world's highest box office among the films of this genre, but also successfully appeared in the South Korean and American counterparts.

This is a yurei - a disembodied spirit, making itself felt with heavy breathing and heartbreaking groans behind the wall, quick steps in the corridor. In general, the image of a long-haired girl with oriental features in a long white robe is a kind of calling card a Japanese horror film that appears in a significant proportion of these films and is heavily exploited by the world's horror story writers. It seems that there is nothing terrible in this image, and a terrible unpleasant feeling inside the stomach appears from just looking at the official poster of the film, not to mention the picture itself.

Manga comics, anime cartoons and unsurpassed horror films - this is Japan's contribution to world cinema. The irresistible desire to watch Japanese horror to the end is explained quite simply. No self-respecting director of Japanese horror will leave a grateful viewer without a clue, will not disappoint with a blurry and unfinished ending to the film. There is always food for thought and a keen desire to get to know the mystical facet of Japanese culture.

ARD presents its top Japanese horror films of the last 15 years.

Japan is a country with an unusual amazing, mysterious culture and rich history. It combines the incredible development of technology and, albeit modified over the twentieth century, but still retaining the most important features of the traditional cultural heritage and social principles.

Naturally, among others, such a state is full of its own legends about all kinds of terrible phenomena of a mystical nature. And places where they were observed or are observed to this day. In this article, we will tell you about some of them.

For example, about the well-known throughout the country hospital for patients with tuberculosis, located in the city of Kaizuka. Initially, the building itself was designed and built as a school, but in 1958 it was turned into a hospital for tuberculosis patients.

The watchman and some local residents, and today a number of tourists, talk about the ghosts that are seen and heard within these walls.

Another hospital inhabited by ghosts is located in the city of Kasumigaura. Initially, it was the base of the navy. Later, the building was transferred to the use of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University.

Unfortunately, over time, it was abandoned, and it almost fell apart. There is no exact data on the existence of a ghost here, but strange phenomena observed several times. And the popular rumor strengthened them, especially since the building was used several times for filming horror films.

On the island of Hokkaido, the Jomonon Tunnel serves as a connecting part of the road between Tokoro and Munbetsu counties. The tunnel is 507 meters long. During its construction, many workers died there and were buried right inside.

After that, it is not surprising that at times there is paranormal activity. In particular, some travelers have seen ghosts.

It should also be remembered about the island of Tashiro. It also has a second name - Cat Island. This place is inhabited by just a huge number of cats. All cat lovers should definitely go there.

It is known that since ancient times, cats were considered associated with mysticism. And many feel it when they find themselves on a cat island. Sometimes the behavior of cats here is extremely unusual, and supernatural manifestations are not uncommon.

There are many rumors about the mysticism of the village of Nagoro, but there are almost no established supernatural manifestations. And yet the atmosphere in the village is frightening. Still, this mostly deserted village doesn't look like that at all. Indeed, on the streets, behind the counters and in the houses there are hundreds of stuffed animals. This place is a tourist attraction that tickles the nerves of everyone who visits it.

For Japan, the concept of a curse is somewhat different from the classical European counterpart, although in essence they are similar. Interestingly, there are many cursed places in this country.

For example, Mount Kuseyama is considered cursed, anyone who sets foot on it will soon die. Surprisingly, the mountain and nearby territories have not been redeemed. They say about a number of accidents with those who tried to visit it, because buyers are simply afraid.

A similar situation is observed with Mount Ihai. Only when entering it or cutting down the forest there, not the violator himself dies, but one of the members of his family. The same happens with the owners and workers of the Kuse and Yammai fields.

Listing cursed places as well as remembering all kinds of deities who have fun punishing people with such methods can take a very long time. And if some of the stories are pure fiction. Others seem to have a very real basis.

There are more than enough scary places in Japan besides those listed, so we will probably talk about a number of them in separate articles.
