The road to the waterfall goes along the mouth of the river Krios Potamos, which means "Cold River". Around the spacious green meadows of flowers are replaced by a dense pine forest, and small gently sloping mounds with juniper climb up the rock. The clear waters of the river go around the rocks and fall into small ravines. Here you can find centuries-old pines, oaks, strawberries and alders. Nature untouched by man, as it were, flaunts before us with all its colors.
Small bushes of barberry and wild rose are intertwined with tablets. The names of plants and their origin are written on them in English and Latin. Walking along the forest paths, you suddenly hear the distant sound of water. This means that the waterfall is close.
Caledonia
The height of natural creation is 13 meters. The waterfall is located at 1330 meters above sea level and is formed by the river Krios Potamos. It is protected by the Cypriot state, exactly like National Park Troodos where it is located.
There are many legends about the origin of the name of the waterfall. According to one of them, the name was given by one Scot who arrived in these parts. He said that the local nature reminds him of his homeland, and as you know, Scotland used to be called Caledonia. Who was this Scot and what is his name - history has not preserved.
How to get to the waterfall
Caledonia is located north of the village of Pano Platres. The easiest way to get to the waterfall is from the trout farm, which is located in the Psilo Dendro area, which means “Tall Tree” in translation. By the way, near this farm there is a restaurant where you can eat delicious food. The signature dish is freshly caught grilled trout.

The waterfall got its name from the Greek word "andara", meaning "noise of water". The area around the waterfall is ennobled, there are information boards, a bridge is made, a ford is concreted and steps are laid along the waterfall. It is best to combine a visit to the waterfall with a visit to the village of Fini, which is famous for its pottery.
MESA POTAMOS
This is the smallest waterfall. It is located on the Mesa Potamos River, northwest of the village of Saitas, at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. The height of the waterfall itself reaches 7 meters. Water falls first on one platform of hard rock, and then slides down, falling on the second platform. Therefore, this waterfall is called double. You can combine a visit to the waterfall with a picnic arranged in a specially designated place for this, with the same name Mesa Potamos. Having overcome 200 meters along the path leading down, you can find yourself at the waterfall.
