I remember how during the formation of our tourist club, the question was raised: "What place in Crimea will we make our favorite? A patron place, a place of protection, a place of power. A club place where we will return year after year." There were many versions, everyone has their favorite places, their preferences. I remember, among others, Ayu-Dag sounded most often. Bear mountain is a good hiking symbol and interesting place for visiting. But time put everything in its place. The place has chosen us. For 3.5 years of the existence of the club, we have been to Meganom three times. In fact, we only missed Meganom in 2011, and visited 2010, 2012 and now 2013. There is no place in Crimea that we visit with such frequency. Even the Chatyr-Dag plateau and the Demerdzhi plateau cannot boast of such constancy, although they are closer and more convenient for us to hike.
I already wrote about the attractiveness of this place for esotericists and mystics in my last year's report, and I don't want to go back to it. Although no, I will say a few words. Anyone who reads me regularly knows how I feel about all kinds of places of power. I am indifferent. good places powers, bad places of power - for me they are all the same. I don't feel any special vibrations either there or there. I feel good everywhere, I have the whole Crimea one big place of power. I am also indifferent to all Hare Krishnas, Buddhists, Judaists, Talmudists, Taoists and other believers in all possible religions. But this is how I treat them until they climb into my soul. While they were building a sundial from pebbles, altars from pebbles, organized places of worship on Meganom, everything was interesting, harmonious and did not violate the overall integrity and natural beauty. But they went too far and disfigured the cape with their actions. They started painting Megan. Almost all stones are painted with buddhas, animals and abstract designs. For this, you can already tear off your hands. At this rate, they will repaint the entire Megan and turn it into an acidic incomprehensible something.
Traditionally, we started not far from the "Meganom" car camping and, moving along the "lower" path, went along the edge of the sea. They looked with envy at Mount Sokol, which was illuminated by the meager December sun. We were blown by sea winds in the shadow of Mount Urmany-Ustu.
However, being too distracted by the surrounding views was fraught with consequences. Wet mud made the legs move in different directions, and the sea strove to reach out and "lick" the boots of the hikers. But further the coast became wider and it was possible to escape from the oncoming waves. In such cases, you can choose the "upper" path, which is also passable as the "lower" one. But when did we look for the easy way?
We passed the famous "Penitent Monks" - amazing traces of erosion.
We reached Cape Rybachy (Kilse-Burun) after 1 hour and 15 minutes, but did not stop for two reasons. Firstly: the wind blew us off the edge of the cape, and those who got their feet wet for some reason did not want to swim completely. Secondly, we wanted to go through all four capes of Meganom, so there was no time to linger on the familiar Fishing time.
From the edge of Kilse-Burun we looked over the slopes of Mount Urmany-Ustu and saw the next target - Cape Meganom, together with the Meganom lighthouse. Everything is in place, nothing has gone anywhere. You can keep going.
Perhaps the most specific part of the route begins from here. Megan reveals itself in all its glory. We look at it as if from the inside. And it is here that you realize how different it is from the rest. Crimean places. He is the one and only. Unique in all its unusual beauty. And Meganom is damn picturesque. Everything is picturesque here - wastelands, bays, heaps of stones in the water and on land. This place is so fantastic that for a long time you can’t understand where you are and is it Crimea at all?
The place is very contemplative, does not tolerate fuss. But you can fully appreciate its greatness and grandeur only by starting the ascent to Cape Meganom. This is where the beauty of the bays and wastelands opens up to the fullest. The higher you climb, the better the panorama becomes, the more breathtaking. It's impossible to break away. He made a slight upward movement, turned around to look, got up a little more and turned around to look again. And with the climb, the feeling of delight only becomes stronger.
There is a bench at the top that offers a good view of the entire Meganom Wasteland. And after sitting on this bench, I can assure you that getting up from it is very, very difficult. Not because you are too lazy to go further, but because contemplation is so captivating that it is absolutely impossible to look away and continue on your way.
However, we are located not far from the no less picturesque Meganom lighthouse.
And to the east, a view opens up to the third cape - Bugas. From this point, it is somewhat reminiscent of the famous Koktebel Chameleon and is partially hidden by Cape Choban-Beste with the top of Choban-Basta.
Instead of taking the road to the military unit and bypassing the Buyuk-Okche and Kuchuk-Okche tracts, we decided to try to move to the Choban-Basty mountain by the shortest route, crossing the tracts where possible. Unfortunately, we have suffered a complete fiasco. Already on the first ravine (Buyuk-Okche) we could not find a more or less suitable path to cross it comfortably. We saw how the hunters crossed the ravine, but the descent did not seem very convenient to us. We decided to gain altitude and look for a more suitable path. But as we climbed, it became clear that we could not find a convenient way through the first ravine. Therefore, continuing to move along the trodden path, we went ... to the military unit. Thus, they made a big detour from the lighthouse, first losing altitude, and then gaining it again.
The land of Cape Choban-Beste is under the jurisdiction of the Sudak wind farm. Passage and passage to the territory of the wind farm is strictly prohibited. But, despite all the prohibition signs, we decide to move to the top of Choban-Basta. With apprehension you glance at the blades of working windmills whistling at the top and in the mode of covert movement, with a quick step, we "run" to the top of Choban-Basta.

In the east, beyond Bugaz, you can see the fourth cape - Tolstoy. Behind him mountain range Kara-Dag. And on the very horizon you can see Ordzhonikidze, and to the right of him, in an almost even cone, Mount Kiik-Atlama is visible.
Species place. But the wind blows with terrible force. It is not for nothing that the WPP was built here. After 10 minutes, you want to hide from the piercing wind and catch your breath a little. Therefore, we descend along the eastern slope of Choban-Basta and rush to the third cape - Bugas. Many horses graze on the leeward side, apparently no one wants to freeze in a constant wind.
Bugas is within easy reach. I remember him for the absolutely incredible structure of the deposits. As if the ancient builders built this cape, laying out layers of "bricks", alternating them with layers of "mortar". Such associations I had when looking at the western slope of this cape. In any case, it is better to see this "masonry" with your own eyes. A very entertaining sight.
For some reason, many families, due to the dollar / euro exchange rate and the inability to go abroad, prefer to completely abandon their vacation at sea. But in vain! In September 2015, we again visited the familiar Kapsel campsite for the third time. Did you see the desolation - September? War? Russia? There is no trace of its former popularity. There are almost no tourists. But silence! Places - at least choose, the beach is free, the swing too!
The words "Health to Putin" are collected on a hill of broken slate. I wonder if this is sincere or ironic? But judging by the number of visitors, the mantra didn't work.

Confusion from the Markirovskaya places - the curbs are painted with different colors and go and figure out which one is right. Local watchdogs run around (and strive to steal something edible), conflict with visitors' dogs, scare with their barking and interfere with sleep. The campsite could use the work of an electrician: a lot of things were ruined, sometimes I had to go to the toilet with a flashlight. A trifle, but extremely subjective Ukrainian TV (or radio, it’s hard to remember exactly) is heard near the covered dining room. The cafe by the sea does not work - well, this is understandable, with so many people there is nothing to do there, not to mention a disco. But it's even better, the coast is full of places with crowds and eternal music, and you really want silence! So that only you and the sea ... Children's attractions are broken, but they continue to delight the eye with colorful trains.
And where did it all come from, because two years earlier none of this happened. You feel desolation and it's scary, because the way down is always easier.
We wish the camping to keep the brand and survive in 2016!
Review of the best times of Kapsel - 2012-2013
One of the best campsites in Crimea and in general the best place stops near Sudak for a relaxing holiday- This is the camping Kapsel, located in the tract of the same name. It is located between Capes Alchak and Meganom, three kilometers east of Sudak. We present a detailed photo review about it.
This is a small fenced area where you can park a car and a tent for a very tasty amount, or rent a nice little house or a room, but this is already a VIP. On a small square surrounded by small picturesque hills, which are so nice to climb, there is a field with cars, houses and tents, a canteen, a cafe, its own beach and children's attractions.
You can find the campsite by following the sign. It is located before reaching Sudak 3 km from Feodosia. But in order not to wind around and know the way confidently, it is better to navigate by GPS coordinates:
The car can be parked next to the tent, which is a huge plus. this is not allowed in all campsites in Crimea. Even at the peak of the tourist season (mid-August), there are tent places in Kapsel. But there isn't much shade, so be sure to bring an awning or multi-room tent for shade.
You will almost certainly need electricity. Kapsel can provide this for a nominal fee. To do this, you need to have an extension cable of at least 50m, as well as a free tent-place within reach of a local outlet.
To the right is a volleyball court, a trash can, and relatively modern beige toilets with cubicles. At the bottom right are older green toilets with "holes".
Food in Kapsel
You can cook food next to the tent or house. On a stove or grill. In the 2012 season in Kapsel it was forbidden to make fire near the tents. Special places were equipped for barbecues. In 2013, this rule was excluded (or was no one following it?).
You can eat in the dining room. Take inexpensive, but high-calorie complex breakfasts, lunches, dinners. Or make individual orders, more expensive.
It is unforgettably pleasant to sit at a table, hiding from the sun, admiring the sea through the greenery, and knowing that your house is a stone's throw away, and there is a car nearby, on which you can rush at any moment for adventures or to Sudak for groceries.
For those who travel by car with a tent, normal food is a luxury and all diets are forgotten - the body running up the mountains wants the first and second, otherwise tomorrow there will only be strength to lie in the sun.

There is also a second cafe, right by the sea. But we didn't explore it. There was enough dining room. Still, you can sit in a cafe at home, but in the Crimea you need to look for adventure!
Sea
The beach of camping Kapsel consists of large and medium pebbles. Only near the shore there are a few especially large stones. I would like to note that before the 2013 season, they obviously worked on the beach - they removed a lot of large boulders and made a good safe entry. In the 2012 season, because of this, it was uncomfortable to enter the water on large slippery stones.
If you sail a little, at sunset a fabulous view opens up of the coast, the sea, the sharp-nosed Cape Alchak, the massive Cape Meganom and the entire coast of the Kapsel tract. Even just for the view, it's worth going there.
It is better to lay a rug on such pebbles, but it is so nice to lie on them under the warm sun after watching fish in cool water!
Please bring swimming goggles or a snorkeling mask. AT deep places you can admire the leisurely swaying of brown algae and observe an interesting illusion - when sandy islands meet between them, it seems that the bottom is moving, and the algae are static. In addition, there are many beautiful pebbles, half a dozen species of fish and you can catch hermit crabs.

One of the camping attractions for children is the train. Unfortunately, he clearly needed tire fitting services ...
Riding on a high swing-boat overlooking the sea is also unforgettable. In 2012 they were free for everyone.
And in 2013, they decided to "cut the dough" on this. A trifle, but unpleasant.
Everything in this world has its price, camping grows and develops, the territory is protected, the beach is cleaned, trees are watered. Nobody canceled the economy.
An unknown tree by the sea with tasteless fruits. As warm and southern as the sea and the warm air that swayed the thin leaves and made them rustle.
And in Kapsel there is free unlimited WiFi Internet, which is why vacationers are delighted: "I'll pump up films for myself, I'll pump up music!" - you can hear from the locals. There is no WiFi password. The speed of 2-5 Mbps is stable even in the evening hours. Coverage is confident throughout the campsite, for those who work on the Internet - just a paradise!
There are minor inconveniences in Kapsel - shower water is heated naturally in large black barrels in the sun, so it is very invigorating even in the evening. There are queues for the shower (up to 20 minutes of waiting). 4 types of thorns grow on the territory. But these are mere trifles compared to fabulous beauty of this place, it is indescribably cute and cozy.

At the entrance to the campsite every time they check the pass for the car. And even if you pass the checkpoint on foot, they still meticulously ask for the number of a tent place or a house. It is strange, because the territory of Kapsel is not fenced in any way.
On the nearest hill (in the photo on the left), romantic congratulatory inscriptions or names are laid out from broken slate.
wooden houses
We advise you to rent a wooden triple house in Kapsel. There are few of them, about 15 pieces. Usually they are busy, but we were very lucky during the peak season to shoot the last one, just released. The houses are constantly being vacated, being occupied, but they refused to book by phone. It is understandable, without prepayment is a huge risk for camping. But they will book if someone local comes and transfers the prepayment.
The cost of the house in August 2013 was 190 hryvnia (750 rubles) per day.
The advantages of the house are obvious:
- no problems with a tent and a shadow (!!!)
- you can lock the house and leave (leave), almost without fear for things
- sockets and lighting - no need to bother with flashlights and pull extension cords.
- sleeping on a bed with linens is more pleasant than on a rug in a sleeping bag.
You can also rent a room with a refrigerator, but it is already much more expensive. Yes, and it's not "sporty" :)
Inside there are three beds with mattresses of varying degrees of freshness and clean linens (changed once a week), a folding table, a mirror, a wardrobe, two sockets. Everything. Near the place for the car and cooking. The only opening window is held by the welding electrode. The door is the simplest interior type, locked with a key to a no less simple lock. Outside, there is a lamp above the door.
The beds can be moved together if there are two of you.
The roof needs repair. On the other hand, in August for two years we have never seen rain here.
Despite the popularity of this campsite and the large number of vacationers, Kapsel is quite quiet, there is no killing music, no loud screams. People come here to relax. For those who need clubs, restaurants and expensive excursions, it is better to rent accommodation directly in Sudak.
In the evenings, there is a disco by the sea, but it is so thought out that its noise is directed towards the sea, so it practically does not interfere with campers.
A small world that one can only dream of at home in geometrically correct apartments and gray drizzle outside the window.
Kapsel is beautiful even on black southern evenings under numerous stars and rare lanterns. The multi-colored tents glow cozily... good!
A little advice. When you check in, you will be prompted to choose a place. Look at the location of the toilets and washbasins (there are several of them) and estimate the trajectory to these places in a straight line with the rest of the vacationers. It is desirable that your place is not passable.
Outcome. A very popular campsite, but popularity does not interfere with a relaxing holiday. There are no conflicts between vacationers, everyone is friendly to each other. Much has been thought out, but there are also many small minuses. Nevertheless, we recommend this car camping to everyone, as close to exemplary.

We drove baldeli from the road. We moved along the sea, then dived into the mountains, just got high from the fact that we were in the Crimea and from these Divine views. We arrived where we were in 2013. Enjoy, relax, sunbathe. Dogs came to us, we fed them. They must have eaten well. Since we had stew cooked in the morning, we considered that the dogs needed more to give them. And tomorrow we thought that we would figure it out, then having money it is much easier for us to find food than for dogs who even find it difficult to find fresh water. The dogs liked it. They are very friendly with each other food did not take away. We ate together =)
This place was chosen without any thought about safety, how did we even think of climbing this mountain and sticking a tent there. Indeed, in the evening, it is obvious that silence and calm reign, but what happens after dawn, I will tell you in more detail: since I have a very sound sleep, Maxim is responsible for everything that happens at that time, he got up several times, I didn’t notice it. And he got up for the reason that the tent began to be blown away by the wind. How did Max get out of the situation? He tied the tent with ropes to the motorcycle, because the bike just won’t blow off the center stand, so this was the only and good option. And so all night and all morning. At one point, Maxim woke me up to rearrange things from one side of the tent to the other. The side where I slept was lifted up and almost turned over completely.
We could not endure this horror, we began to wake up.

The tent was set up in another place, in 2013 there was a beach densely crowded with sunbeds in this place. And today it is a place full of freedom and tranquility, where, besides us, there was a small camp of red tents and EVERYTHING, no one else. For us, this is the best option.
We arrived at the cape long before sunset, so we had time to swim and sunbathe. Having started cooking, two guests came to us - these two dogs looked like hyenas with their colorings. They had very hungry and sad eyes. But when we gave them part of our stew, they behaved very well, they didn’t fight, they didn’t take each other from each other, and they even ate bread. After looking at them, we gave them everything we had, they even ate crackers, which proved that they needed food more than us. And we will find more.
In order not to go hungry, Max went to the store. I bought what was missing, and found water there, there are no pumps in this area.
In the evening we drank tea several more times, ate croutons with raisins, controlled the motorcycle. He stood at the top of the cliff, the steps to the top were steep and high. Max was a little worried that his horse was so far away. Maxim chose exactly the place where he catches the key fob signal well from the alarm, and therefore our tent stood in a strange way - in the center of the entire beach. And we fixed the keychain on the ceiling of the tent and tied it to a rope. Then they fell asleep.

The only downside is that it's far from the sea. It will not be possible to accommodate in a tent; a motel or separate houses are provided for housing. On the territory of the camping there are good conditions for vacationers, there is a restaurant, a swimming pool, a hot shower. The Yalta embankment can be reached by a free minibus, which departs from the campsite and back several times a day.
For lovers of a wilder holiday, camping is suitable, which is located behind the Alchak mountain near Sudak. Here, tourists who come by their cars can stay in tents. Camping does not differ in any special service, there is technical water and toilets, for drinking water you will have to take a little walk, though not far. There is not much vegetation in the area and it can be very hot in the high season. To be honest, this is not the best place to stay and this campsite should be considered as a backup option.
Near Feodosia, in Primorsky there are several good campsites. This is not southern, but eastern Crimea, but the South Coast is practically in no way inferior (except in nature). There is a nice sandy beach with a gentle entry into the water. Stationary campsites are equipped with showers, toilets, and in some places there is a cafe. The surroundings are not particularly attractive, but those who travel by car find things to do and places to go.
Recently, recreation at Cape Tarkhankut, which is located in the west of Crimea, is gaining popularity. This place is considered one of the best in the Crimea for lovers of recreation in specialized campsites. You can stay in residential trailers, stationary houses or tents. The shower is outside, the toilet is shared, there are several cafes in the vicinity. But here the sea is clear, which creates excellent conditions not only for swimming, but also for diving.
