I always approach the choice of a hotel very carefully, it is very important for me to choose correct location even temporary housing and optimal price-quality ratio. It turned out to be very difficult for me to choose a hotel in Singapore, although I did this difficult task four months before the trip, even when we lived in 🙂 I’ll tell you right away if you have a budget for housing in Singapore not limited, then the choice of the hotel will not be delayed for such long term like mine 🙂

Singapore hotels: choice of area

Before I start choosing a hotel, I carefully choose the area that is right for me to stay. Despite the fact that Singapore is a small city and, with a great desire and time, it is convenient to walk around it or travel by taxi, the first requirement for me when choosing a hotel was the presence of a nearby station (MRT) and the convenience of getting to and from the airport (read about how to get from Singapore airport to the center and to the main attractions), as well as walking distance to the main attractions that I planned to visit: Marina Bay, etc. etc.

If you are not constrained in funds, then I advise you to choose a hotel in the bay area. Nearest metro stations: Marina Bay, Raffles Place, City Hall, Promenade, Esplanade (marked in the diagram below with a green circle).

I know that some tourists like to stay near the busy Orchard road and the metro station of the same name, but I didn’t like this area of ​​Singapore: nothing special, just a noisy street with huge shopping centers, shops and restaurants.

Not very flattering about the Geylang area (although if you need to rent a prostitute for the night, then go there 🙂), but I did not consider this area in the first place because of the remoteness from the tourist center.

Personally, I chose for a long time between two areas and metro stations: Clarke Quay and Bugis, each of which attracted me with its walking distance to Marina Bay. As a result, the Clar Key waterfront area outweighed the fact that it is located next to Chinatown, I thought that we would go to dinner in Chinese restaurants 🙂 As a result, we were so tired during the day in Singapore that we no longer had the strength to go somewhere specifically for dinner , so we dined where hunger caught us and did not sort out places 🙂

For about $80, you can stay at the Santa Grand Hotel Bugis. If you want to stay in the city center, then for the price this hotel looks like one of the best options. By bus. If you don’t have much luggage and you want to start exploring the city right away, get on the bus and admire the city from the bus window – don’t forget to buy an EZ-link card in advance. For example, bus 36 travels from the airport through the main terminals, then goes to the city center, passes through Suntec City and ends its route on Orchard Road.

True, one must understand that Indians have a peculiar attitude towards cleanliness, because this is perhaps one of the dirtiest areas in Singapore. Moreover, if everything is ok on the street (the government of the country requires compliance), then in hotels no one has canceled the indifference and by no means reverent attitude towards the cleanliness of the rooms.
