Gore skiing now where to go. Why go to the ski resort in winter? Ski resorts in Russia: Sheregesh

Glossary of terms

Avalman- an element of ski equipment. The essence of the avalman is bending (pulling the legs under you) at the stage of entering the turn, unloading the skis (by straightening the legs), and again bending the legs at the stage of completing the turn. Mainly used on hillocks. Pushing the skis forward with a squat at the start of the turn helps keep the skis in contact with the snow as the terrain changes.

Apreschi(French Apres Ski- “after skiing”). Everything that we can please ourselves with after skiing while in a ski resort: health centers, baths, saunas, bars, restaurants, cafes, clubs, shows and festivals on the mountain, excursions and even shopping.

Carving or freecarve(English) Carving/Freecarve) - carved turns on the track and off the track, speeds at the limit, dense snow with an ice crust. Riding style - no slip. The carvers hold the board at a high angle to the snow in a turn, and the board lifts off the ground when edging. Here, as on the Swiss slopes, there are no sudden changes in temperature, winters - windless and snowy - allow skiing from December to March, and the sun shines longer and more intensely (about 260 days a year) than in the resorts of the Caucasus and Crimea. Belokurikha has seven comfortable and safe pistes of varying difficulty with a total length of more than 25 kilometers, three of them (Katun, Altai-West, Severny) are equipped with night illumination. Evening skiing is provided by lighting, and on days with little snow, an artificial snowmaking system is turned on. For advanced skiers, there is an additional slope dotted with hillocks and ravines, which is located outside the complex. The length of the slope is 180 meters, the angle of inclination is 24 degrees.

Secondly, prices in Malinovka are significantly lower than in other resorts. Although the skiing area has only two slopes with a total length of 480-520 meters and a height difference of 76-96 meters, for the pros there is a rather interesting red run and a snowboard park with steep peaks - three jumps and figures for jibbing.

Why here: the Karelian resort of Yalgora, opened in 2013, is not yet very popular among Russian skiers. For this reason, there are practically no crowds here, housing is cheaper, and the tracks are smooth and free. Outside the window is November, things have turned to winter and now is the time to decide for yourself the following - to go to the mountains in winter or not to go? For some, everything seems obvious and the question is not even worth it - amateurs are already getting skis out of the closets. For others - not everything is so simple ... But is it worth it? And should it be expensive? And what am I going to do there - skiing is very dangerous and other horror stories and doubts.

Let's try to dispel some ski holiday myths and try to bring more clarity to the issue of winter recreation.

Benefits of a ski holiday

1. Is skiing expensive?

On the one hand, yes, but on the other hand, not quite so. If you go at the peak of the season, to a popular station, buy skis and a suit for them in the latest fashion, then the rest will cost a pretty penny (unless your grandmother has her own chalet in Courchevel, then everything is easier).

Add here self-catering without restaurants and half boards in hotels and it will turn out even cheaper!

You can not buy skis and equipment, but book them in advance at an inexpensive rental. Or even borrow from friends and acquaintances.

And if you buy a ski pass not for all the slides and not for the entire period of stay? After all, at each station there are subscriptions for half a day, for one-time descents, for certain tracks. Some French ski resorts even have free ski lifts for beginners.

In short, if you correctly approach the issue and look through several specialized forums, then you can safely remove the equal sign between the concepts of “a week of rest at a ski resort with a worldwide reputation” and “crazy prices”.

2. Winter holidays & holidays - a great alternative to the beach and the sea

Why not change your lifestyle? After all, summer is the season of water, beaches and Turkey-Egypts. But winter? Maldives, Thailand, the same tired Sharm el-Sheikh, UAE. It is boring to do the same ritual twice a year.

Whether it's the whole cycle winter entertainment in the cold, associated with fun in the snow and ice? This is our way! Moreover, you can spend much more calories and move around in a ski resort than in the same time by the sea, where you supposedly swim (with a cocktail in your hand and without taking off your sunglasses) in the hotel pool. And where there are more movements, there are more impressions, and drive, and finally, life!

3. Even if you don't ski, you're sure to find plenty of other fun

As a rule, at most ski stations (and especially in France), they develop a separate cycle of activities for vacationers, not related to skiing or snowboarding. These fun can be divided into ice-snow and non-ice-snow)).

Of the first - sledding (as well as a dozen more adaptations designed to bring tourists down the snowy mountain as much as possible), snowshoeing, snowmobile tours, riding dog sledding, horse-drawn sleigh rides, conquest of artificial ice mountains, horseback riding ice rinks, cross-country skiing and much more.

Of the second - visits to spas, beauty salons, massage rooms, swimming pools, flights to balloons, airplanes and helicopters, slot machine halls, shopping, cinema, entertainment centers, excursions to nearby towns and historical sites.

4. Mountain cuisine and gastronomy

I don’t know what they feed in Slovakia, Poland, Romania or Bulgaria, but I’ll tell you honestly that I didn’t find anything tastier, more interesting and more nutritious than (and also).

In any case, wherever you go to the winter vacation, new and interesting gastronomic experiences are guaranteed for you!

5. Skiing is a sport, but an enjoyable one.

For athletes, I have one more argument - skiing is a real sport. Therefore, a week or two skiing in the mountains will perfectly support your shape, help you lose weight and get a huge boost of energy for the rest of the winter.

6. Ski vacation is a great time to spend it with the whole family

Nothing brings together members of the same family and leaves such vivid and wonderful impressions for life as a vacation spent together. And ski resorts create a unique warm atmosphere for family holidays (you have to warm each other with warmth of soul in such a cold climate) and give a lot of opportunities for entertainment for everyone, young and old.

Be sure, at least once in your life, spend a vacation in a ski resort with the whole family and you will never forget it - checked!

7. Fun and nightlife

For young people, ski resorts also have plenty of opportunities to "relax" after a hard tiring day on skis and a hearty mountain dinner - in night bars and discos. There is a sufficient assortment of them even at very mediocre and small stations in France, but in Courchevel, Megeve or Meribel - there is a surplus at all.

Here you go. In my opinion, I listed all the “pros” and delicately persuaded readers to go on a winter vacation to the snowy mountains. Those who are still skeptical about winter holidays in the mountains, please comment or ask clarifying questions. Persons interested and enthusiastic - waiting for the continuation of the ski theme.

After all, better than mountains there can only be mountains ... ©

Where to live while traveling?

Hotels, villas and apartments should be searched on

Winter should not be a reason to mope and miss warm days.. Yes, not every person has the opportunity to go abroad and relax, basking in the sun. But you don’t even think about the advantages that snowy time brings.

  • Instead of roller skates, we put on skates in order to cut through the rink in search of the puck.
  • A snowboard gives us much more vivid emotions and impressions than a skateboard.
  • Tired of the strange impressions that roller skis give us, we finally take mountain skis and hit the road.
  • There is also an opportunity to try sleds, cheesecakes and ice-boats.

But where to go? We need to find the most convenient place to stay, where to go skiing in winter.

The coolest ski regions in Europe

Before you surf the Internet in search of the best resort, you need to understand what you want to get from your trip:

  • learn to ride on trails for beginners;
  • find a panorama with incredible mountain views and enjoy the beauty;
  • buy souvenirs and go on excursions.

Having made certain conclusions, we already know exactly what should attract us, and what should be abandoned. All this will save certain finances that can be spent on entertainment:

  • Next, we ask ourselves if we want book hotels on your own, tickets and think about food or all trust travel company? For example, the organization of a transfer from the airport to the hotel, most likely, almost eliminates the difference in cost.
  • When choosing a resort, check height above sea level on which it is located. If it is too high, acclimatization can take quite a long time.
  • It is worth deciding on length of stay: let's say you are a beginner, then after 2-3 days you will want to take a break, because the loads are quite serious, therefore, a ten-day trip will be optimal.
  • The last thing to consider is the hotel you need to choose. at a distance of 200-300 meters from the ski lift, which will save your energy before and after the descent - inventory is not easy.

Now we are ready to go on an unforgettable adventure, but still, where to go skiing or snowboarding in winter? Alps- highest mountain range in Western Europe , accessed by countries such as: Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, etc.. The best alpine resorts are:

  • Davos, Zermatt (Switzerland);
  • Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy);
  • Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany);
  • Wilder-Kaiser/Brixental (Austria).

All of the above resorts have absolutely all the amenities, but to really enjoy your stay, you need to pay a lot. In this way, you should choose a place that is away from the noisy crowds of tourists - the Alpine "province". Yes, in the evening it will be difficult to find something to do, but this does not mean that just taking a walk and enjoying nature, especially with a company, will be boring.
