Boat trip on the Teletskoye lake. Boat excursions along Teletskoye: routes and prices

They say that if the asphalt road ends, the fun begins for the motorist.

I'm not sure that every motorist will be delighted with the killed dirt road, but in our road trip across Altai best places, indeed, began after the end of the asphalt.

The village of Artybash is the second place where we went on our route. Everyone who comes to Lake Teletskoye from its northern part stops in the villages of Artybash or Iogach.

We left Belokurikha early in order to catch the 15-hour Pioneer of Altai motor ship, plying from a panoramic tour of Teletskoye lake.

Belokurikha - Artybash = 270km (4.5 hours)
Gorno-Altaisk - Artybash = 157km (2.5 hours)

But something went wrong (in the schedule I mixed up weekdays and weekends) and our ship left at 12-00. Late for some 30 minutes. But then they realized that everything was for the best.

Immediately, on the spot, we agreed with local carriers on an excursion around the lake and we had additional time for lunch and a walk along the banks of the Biya River.

The locals advised to dine in a cafe with homemade cuisine on the shore. Lunch turned out to be pretty decent. Mashed potatoes with beef, fried grayling, okroshka, pies and compote. For four, we got around 1300 rubles.

If you came to the lake without prior reservation, do not worry, there are enough people who want to earn money in the short summer season.
We have booked seats in a 10-seater boat, as in the photo.

dressed life jackets and set off on their way. The weather was not at all happy with drizzling rain. But we didn't really care.)

First stop - Estyuba waterfall.
It is located on the Bolshaya Estyuba River, originating at the foot of the mountain of the same name. Translated from Altai big mountain". The waterfall is located in a tectonic crevasse, which can only be reached by water. It is a cascade of waterfalls, seething and bewitching. Especially beautiful in spring, with melt water, discovered by local hunters in 1938.

There are only four waterfalls on the lake tour. When disembarking, for each (except Kishte) they take 100 rubles for an environmental fee. For this money we get neat wooden paths, railings, trash cans, a clean and well-groomed path.

We were glad several times that we did not have time for the regular steamer. Would not see other waterfalls of the lake!

Next stop at Choodor waterfall, from the western side of Lake Teletskoye.
Translated from the Altai language Choodor is translated as "pockmarked, clumsy". The height of the fall is about eight meters, surrounded by age-old mosses and ferns.

This is where I like to walk the most. Perhaps due to the presence of equipped viewing platforms, which offer stunning views of Lake Teletskoye and wooded shores. Just unbelieveble!

Most of the eastern shore of Lake Teletskoye is part of the territory of the Altai Reserve, one of the largest reserves in Russia. You can’t just take a tent and stay for a couple of days in a place you like.
About seventy large and small rivers of Altai flow into the lake, and the famous beauty Biya flows out. The greatest depth is 325 meters in the Korbu waterfall area. Locals compare with sizes eiffel tower. The lake is strongly elongated from north to south, the length is 77 km.

Cafe in the national style.

Altai children.

Korbu Waterfall- located on the Bolshaya Korbu River on the eastern shore of Lake Teletskoye. The height of the waterfall is 12.5 meters, the fall angle is 65 degrees. The most visited waterfall of the lake! Only here comes the steamer for the disembarkation of tourists.

There was another waterfall - Kishte, but it is forbidden to land on it. It is located on the way to Korbu. For some reason the photo didn't show up.

On the way back we were brought to another popular place - a stone bay. You can get here along the trail from the village of Iogach, or by boat - 15-20 minutes.
The shores of the stone bay consist of massive boulders of various shapes and sizes. According to some sources, this is a funnel from a meteorite fall, according to others, it is a pit from a huge collapsed rock, and the Altai people believe in the myth of a hero who defeated a monster here.

Important! "Pioneer Altai" departs from the village of Iogach (from Artybash across the bridge), keep this in mind!

Small boats are parked all around.

The walk around the lake lasts approximately 3.5 hours. We still had free time in the evening. We left the car near the house and walked to the lake on foot.

For an overnight stay, I booked a house Manor in the forest in the village of Iogach. Great place for one or two nights. The room has everything you need (shower, toilet, water, bed linen, kitchenette, barbecue area, veranda). Very friendly hostess Taisiya Nikolaevna, who cooked us delicious millet porridge and a whole mountain of chebureks for breakfast. It turned out to be a royal breakfast.
The house is located in the forest, 500 meters from the lake, we considered this an additional bonus - peace and quiet. If you're in a car, distance doesn't matter.

I will show some photos of the village of Iogach.

Pay attention to the lawns in the village! Do you know why? The answer is in the next photo.

Because "live lawn mowers" work here. We were surprised how neatly the cows eat the lawn. I even thought that he was cut specially here))

The reinforced concrete bridge separating Artybash and Iogach was built in 2002 instead of the wooden one.

Looking at such shots, I instantly remember my carefree, barefoot childhood with my grandmother in the village.

Siberian cedar in Altai is very popular in the production of furniture, housing construction, and interior decoration. Cedar wood is soft, durable and light, does not succumb to moisture and is not corroded by bugs, and is almost not subject to decay. Easily amenable to various types of processing.
In Moscow and the region, cedar is a luxury, but here it’s quite an ordinary tree from which you can build a house and a barn. I wanted to grab a couple of logs home))

The second day in Altai passed almost imperceptibly and very richly. Early in the morning we moved to Manzherok.

The most interesting is ahead!

Our guest Svetlana offers us her review of interesting places, routes and excursions to give us the opportunity to navigate and choose where exactly to go with your children on Teletskoye.

What to visit on Lake Teletskoye with children: excursions and attractions

Arriving at Lake Teletskoye, especially for the first time, you immediately want to set sail. If the weather is favorable, of course, this should be done first.

Boat trips

There are two transport options for traveling on the lake: powerboat or a small boat or motor ship Pioneer Altai.

Pioneer of Altai

Pioneer of Altai visits only. Parking there lasts 40 minutes, the total tour takes about 3 hours. The ship has a cinema hall, buffet, comfortable shared cabins. A large open deck is at your disposal. A lot of impressions from a leisurely comfortable sailing, a photo session in a marine style and a lot of landscape photos on the way. There are shops at the waterfall with delicious food and souvenirs, so cash will come in handy. Take warm clothes with you, because on the deck in the middle of the lake it can be much cooler than on the shore.

If your child is unable to sit still for a long time, or you want to see everything at once, then the boat trip option is more suitable for you. The usual list of sightseeing places in this case: Korbu waterfall, Chodor waterfall, Stone Bay. You will spend less time swimming and more time on land. But keep in mind: there is a sharp change in weather on the lake and there are storms. Therefore, sailing with children on a ship is safer. And in general: the ship itself is already a kind of excursion.

Kamenny-bay-on-Teletsky

You will get a grandiose impression of a water journey by crossing the entire lake from end to end from north to south. The end point of your journey is Gulf of Karagay. This magical place, protected from the winds, seems to be created for families with children of any age and is not inferior to Black Sea coast. Here you will find really warm water and sand beach overlooking the sacred mountain Altyn-Tuu. Often people come here only for a day - in the morning there, in the evening back. But if you are with children - such a “game is not worth the candle”, the kids will only get tired. Plan to spend at least a couple of full days on Karagay! You can live in your tent, in a campsite or in a house at a camp site. Go to a cafe to eat or cook your own food on a fire.

Excursion to the Chulyshman valley- the route associated with the journey to the south of the lake. For him, you land on the shore to the right of the mouth of the Chulyshman River at Cape Kyrsai. To the purpose of the tour they drop by car. Usually this is the cascade of Uchar waterfalls. You will need hiking clothes and comfortable closed shoes. For a day trip it is possible to visit one of these beautiful places. Climbing Uchar is quite difficult, therefore it is recommended for children from 12 years old.

Uchar on Chulyshman

Going to the Stone Mushrooms is much easier, but even there there is a long climb uphill.

Stone mushrooms on Chulyshman

If you are going on a day trip, it will be difficult for young children to endure such an intense experience. If your group goes for a few days, then you can also visit the beautiful Kurkure waterfall, which is located not far from the Katuyaryk pass, famous for its serpentine. The Chulyshman valley differs from the northern part of the lake by its dry and hot summer climate. And the landscape here is completely different. Fabulous views of majestic mountains and a stormy river with emerald water await you.

So, you have returned from sailing, and there is still time to visit interesting places the villages of Artybash and Iogach and in the taiga near Teletsk. First, we will look at places specially created for tourists to visit, and finish with natural sightseeing sites.

Excursions in the vicinity of the villages of Artybash and Iogach

Let me explain one nuance that misleads vacationers. When it comes to two different villages - Artybash and Iogach - in fact, this is one rural settlement. You will enter Artybash immediately when you arrive at Teletskoye. And you will get to Iogach simply by crossing the bridge, which, by the way, is the geographical border between Lake Teletskoye and the Biya River. In Iogach there is a Maria Ra supermarket, a hospital and a pharmacy. Everything related to tourism is located in Artybash, with the exception of camp sites, of course. They are dispersed in both villages.

Probably there is a child who is indifferent to horses. Walking along Artybash, you can hire a horse for a little ride or arrange a horseback riding tour. There are horse rentals on the lake shore opposite the Evseich cafe, near the Victory Monument and opposite the Edem boarding house. It is possible to arrange an excursion to the Teletsk taiga on ATVs. It will be interesting for teenagers rafting on the Biya.

At the Old Helipad, you will find a kayak stand and you can either just go kayaking or go on a kayak excursion to Stone Bay. Of course, this trip is for older children.

Zoo Edelweiss- although it is within the village, it is better to get there by car. The zoo contains wild and farm animals and birds. Animals are allowed to be fed. You can buy food at the zoo, or you can take carrots cut into cubes with you.

EthnoPark located in the village of Artybash, it is easy to walk there on foot. Here, in the traditional Altai dwellings - ail and alanchik - you will be immersed in the Altai culture, fairy tales and legends of the Altai people, National cuisine. It will be interesting for school-age children and, no doubt, for all adults. You can take a photo in Altai color. Pre-registration is required for the tour.

ethnopark

Gallery "Legend of Altyn Köl" This real art gallery is located 300 meters to the left of the bridge in the center of the souvenir market. In front of her is the Tree of Desires, effectively tied with ribbons of all colors of the rainbow. Inside there are paintings by artists of Lake Teletskoye and handicrafts of local craftsmen. All of this can be purchased. Interesting master classes are also held here, they must be arranged by phone in advance. The gallery is visited with children of any age, but it may turn out that your little ones will not let you enjoy the beauty to the fullest. Three minutes is enough for them to communicate with the beautiful. Gallery visit is free , master classes are paid.

Museum of local lore "Ermi-Tash" stands near the famous excursion trail to the Third River. By the way, these two excursions can be combined by going to the museum before climbing the trail. Since this is a museum, unlike the EthnoPark, it has a great historical focus. There are exhibits and photographs related to the past of Lake Teletskoye. In a conversation with visitors, emphasis is placed on the spiritual culture of the Altaians, including shamanism. It is advisable to sign up for a tour by phone.

Shilkin Exhibition Hall located near the Old Helipad on the bank of the Teletskoye. Leonid Alekseevich Shilkin is the oldest and most respected of the numerous artists of Lake Teletskoye. An exhibition of his works is arranged on the ground floor of the house where the artist and his wife live. The diversity of creativity is striking: not only oil painting on canvas, magical watercolors, magnificent pastels, but also porcelain painting with Altai taiga flowers, wood painting and carving, unusual stone paintings ... If you live in a village, you can only walk there with older children , through the territory of the tourist center "Golden Lake" and Staraya helipad. For preschoolers it is better to take a taxi. The abundance of fragile exhibits in the public domain may not allow you to relax if you come with the kids. It is desirable to record by phone in order to surely catch the owners of the house.

Shilkin Exhibition Hall

Swimming pool at the tourist center Zolotoe Ozero. Since the water in Lake Teletskoye warms up only by August, and even then it may seem uncomfortable for swimming - I suggest going with the children to the pool under open sky, with water heating. The pool is surrounded by a boardwalk and there is a café nearby. Subscription is valid for the whole day. The depth of the pool is designed for adults, so it is better to go there with children from 10 years old. The camp site is the oldest on the Teletskoye coast, it was founded in the 60s, during the Soviet era, when tourism on Lake Teletskoye had just begun to develop. There is a similar pool at the new camp site " Mountain Lake “But it is quite far from the village, they get there by car.

In our selection from Detkitur you can see other equally interesting bases on Lake Teletskoye.

With small children on a hot day it is good to go to green beach of the Iogach river. This is a clean shallow mountain river, the water here warms up quickly. Passage to the shore in the village of Iogach, about 400 meters directly from the bridge across the Teletskoye-Biya, opposite guest house Lud-Vic. Here you can sunbathe calmly on the grass while the children play nearby in shallow water. The place is very picturesque, you can do beautiful pictures. Ducks and geese swim in the river - children love to feed them!

green beach of Iogach village

On the other side of the river Iogach there is "Wolf Farm"- the peasant economy of the Volkov family with many children. It is from there that the ducks on the green beach. In addition to ducks and geese, chickens and several goats live here. As well as charming kids, ducklings, goslings and chickens! On the tour, you will stroke and feed everyone you want, and hold the smallest in your arms. A rustic-style photo session is included in the program of the visit. The owners will tell interesting stories about their animals and give you tea with pastries made with homemade products, treat you with milk, eggs, and cottage cheese. As a keepsake, you can get special "farm" souvenirs. It is advisable to arrange a tour by phone 89059843858 .

Wolf farm

Taiga apiary of the Shishkins. interesting long excursion to the taiga near Teletsk to the apiary. You will be completely immersed in the mysterious world of bees and the subtleties of beekeeping for two whole hours! And also herbal tea with honey tasting for a sincere conversation. The tour is recommended for school children. For a trip to the apiary, you will need to contact the tour organizer. The round trip takes about 40 minutes.

Natural attractions of Lake Teletskoye

Now let's move on to the review of natural sightseeing objects.

Tilan-Tuu observation mountain- one of the most popular routes in the village of Artybash. It can be advised for school-age children. The view from above: the lake, both villages and the surrounding mountains is certainly impressive. And if you think of some kind of surprise for the children upstairs, on the observation deck, then the walk will become especially bright. If desired, it will be possible to combine a trip to Tilan-Tuu with a visit to the zoo or with an excursion to the EthnoPark. It is better not to climb the mountain in wet weather - the steep path becomes very slippery.

Silver spring is located within the boundaries of the village of Artybash, on the slope of a mountain overgrown with forests. it healing spring with the investigated composition of water, which contains a large percentage of silver ions and radon impurities. It is especially beneficial for vision and has tonic properties. An ancient cedar grows nearby, which is about 400 years old. The source is consecrated, so there is a worship cross near it. Don't forget to bring your magical water bottles! You can go there with children of any age.

Third river runs down the slope to Lake Teletskoye outside the village of Artybash. This is the most popular and most beautiful walking route. Usually it is impossible to walk along the channel of the forest river because of the blockages and thickets. Thanks to the paved path, all the secret beauties will be revealed before you. Cascades of small waterfalls, fonts, picturesque tree trunks and boulders covered with moss and ferns. Small children can be carried in their arms. Toddlers of three years will be happy to climb themselves.

It is on this route that you should be wary of ticks. During the trip, examine the children several times and look around yourself.

font 3 rivers

Mount Kibetek so named because the outline of its slope resembles the keel of an overturned boat. The beginning of the trail to Kibetek in the village of Iogach. The mountain is interesting in that at its base, under one of the huge boulders, there is an entrance to an underground cave, and under the neighboring one, even in hot summers, ice remains. Further, the route goes up the stone scree - kurumnik. It makes sense to climb up to a stone called a tank. Then the kurumnik ends and the forest begins. From here opens beautiful view to the source of the Biya, the lake, Artybash and Iogach.

kurumnik in Kibetek

On Mount Kibetek, children of any age will like it very much. Moms with "tame" babies can go on this trip if they have a sling or an ergo backpack with them. Do not forget that going down is always more difficult. Be careful when descending. Refrain from hiking in wet weather.

Mount Kibetek

Disappearing source- the best taiga route for children, a real natural miracle. This is a road trip, at the end of which you have to walk a little. The road will be mastered only by UAZ or ATV in dry weather. You will find yourself in a real forest lodge. Next to a small hut there are two large, about a meter deep, indentations in the ground, lined with stones. Water appears in them and rises until it begins to overflow over the edges. After a while, she leaves in the same mysterious way, leaving the recesses empty. As in Volkov's fairy tale about the Seven Underground Kings! The frequency with which this happens cannot be predicted - maybe a miracle will happen in a few minutes, or maybe in a couple of hours. Therefore, take food with you, because it is not known how long you have to wait until the source manifests itself. The round trip itself, not counting the waiting time, takes an hour and a half.

Climbing Mount Kokuya on a chairlift is an amazing opportunity to easily climb into the highlands. Do not forget to take warm clothes - during the ascent and at the top it can be much colder than at the foot. Having risen, you can sit in a cafe, admire the beautiful panorama of mountain ranges from observation deck and walk in the mountains. Suitable for children of any age. The lift is located outside the village of Iogach, you can get there by car. In winter there are two ski slopes with drag and chair lifts.

This concludes my review. I want to note that you have read about the most popular excursions and routes. But if you turn to the services of local guides and travel organizers, you will be offered many more opportunities to get to know Lake Teletskoye and its environs better. For example, to visit the reserved village of Yailu or the gardens of the cordon of Bele ... It is worth coming to Teletskoye Lake with children many times!

Saturday decided to dedicate a walk on the lake. Since the weather forecast did not promise anything good, we decided to take a boat trip across the lake. Ticket price 1000 rubles.

Motor ship "Pioneer Altai" has a very interesting story. It was built back in 1964 and for the first two years worked in the Moscow River Shipping Company. Then in 1967-1968. the first unusual event in his life takes place - a transfer to Lake Teletskoye.

The passage took place in extreme conditions for this type of vessel. From Moscow, the ship left along the Moscow Canal, the Volga-Baltic Waterway and the White Sea-Baltic Canal to the White Sea, from where the Northern Sea Route to the Gulf of Ob. From the Gulf of Ob, the ship arrived along the Ob River to Barnaul, where it wintered during the inter-navigational period of 1967-1968. During wintering, the ship was lightened as much as possible by dismantling easily removable equipment. Immediately after the opening of the Ob River in 1968, the ship went to Biysk, where the flood was expected to begin. As soon as the water level in Biya rose to the required mark, the ship went up the river under its own power. Prior to the village of Turochak, Biya was navigable in those years, but higher there are riffles and rapids with high current speeds that are insurmountable for vessels of this class. Therefore, in such sections of the river, the ship was helped to move by tractors that walked along the edge of the coast and pulled the ship with cables.

ship "Pioneer of Altai"

In the 70-80s. "Pioneer of Altai" took tourists along the Teletskoye Lake. In the 90s, a period of decline began, the ship was often idle, and when serious repairs were required in 1997, there was no money for it. The rusty skeleton rested near the shore. In 2007, the prosecutor's office decided to scrap the ship.

In 2009, the ship was bought by Ivan Yuzhakov, an entrepreneur from the village of Iogach. New owner began the restoration of the ship. At first, the ship was restored only in the rack version. It housed a cafe, a cinema hall and a museum. But in 2012, the owner decided to put the ship on the move. In 2014, the ship again took on board passengers. Such is the story full of unusual twists and turns.

So, at ten in the morning in drizzling rain we set off on a trip to the Korbu waterfall. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to take beautiful photos… The way to the waterfall takes about an hour and a half. A story about Lake Teletskoye sounds from the speakers.

Teletskoye lake is the fifth in Russia among the most deep lakes. Its average depth is 175 m, and the maximum is 325 m. Its length is almost 78 km, the average width is 1-2 km, and the maximum is 5 km.

start of the tour

The northern part of the lake, along which we started our journey, stretches clearly from west to east. The shores of the lake are almost everywhere steep and steep, the mountains surrounding the lake reach a height of 2000-2500 m.

The ship goes first closer to the south coast. We pass Iogach on the right

and Artybash on the left.

On the left we see several houses - the town of Kakaiha.

Here we pass the mouth of the Oyor River (translated from Altai as “gouge out”), there are a lot of fish here. The border of the Altai State Nature Reserve passes along the Oyor. Steep banks begin from the mouth of the Oyor River, the bottom is not visible at all.

mouth of the river Oyer

Our gaze is riveted to Mount Cheptu (“barrier, redoubt, shelter”), 1273 m high, which protrudes into the lake by a cape.

Mount Cheptu

Looking at the shore, it seems that chaos is happening here, rock outcrops and screes are visible, the most diverse shrubs and mixed forests grow on the rocks.

Mount Cheptu

Nearby is the cordon Karatash. 3 km from Cape Karatash is the town of Baikazan (“Big Cauldron, Kazan”). These places are rich in game.

cordon Karatash

On the right is the mouth of the Samysh River (“Stab, stick”). In general, about 70 rivers flow into Lake Teletskoye (the largest is Chulushman)) and 150 streams, and only one river flows out - Biya.

mouth of the Samysh River

We are on our way to Cape Azhi ("The place where people pass through the mountain") - the gates of Lake Teletskoye. Cape Azhi is considered to be one of the picturesque places Teletskoye Lake. Here, snow-white Cambrian marbles, which are hundreds of millions of years old, descend steeply into the water with powerful impregnable rocks. Mount Azhi has a height of 1124 m. On the left, clearings are visible among the taiga with typical herbs. This place is called Ayubaltyrgan (“Bear bundle”).

Cape Azhi has a small cove. Hidden in it tiny island- one of two on the lake. From the water, it is almost invisible - it merges with the shore.

island off Cape Azhi

From Cape Azhi the lake becomes much wider. This place is considered the gate of Teletskoye Lake.

Gate of Teletskoye Lake

In the distance, the top of the Korbu ridge with a height of 2024 m is visible, the Abakan ridge is visible. Behind Cape Azhi there is a small bay. The river Yurga ("Sacrificial River") flows into the bay.

Cape Kuvan (“Plant”) soon appears on our right hand,

from which the lake turns south almost at a right angle and then goes almost strictly from north to south.

Almost immediately after the turn we see the purpose of our journey on the ship. The shores of the lake in this place are steep and precipitous.

rocky shore of the lake on the way to the waterfall

We make a stop to visit beautiful waterfall on Lake Teletskoye - Korbu ("Shrub, young shoots").

The ship is at the shore for an hour. During this time, you can stretch your legs on the shore, buy souvenirs,

eat in numerous cafes.

And of course - visit the waterfall. Entrance to the territory of the reserve is 100 rubles. A path in the form of a wooden flooring has been laid to the waterfall, which allows you to leave nature untouched by the feet of numerous tourists.

wooden deck to the waterfall

The waterfall is not visible from the shore, it is located a hundred meters above the mouth of the Korbu River, which runs down from the ridge of the same name. A couple of minutes from the shore of the lake - and before your eyes a huge mass of water falling vertically from a stone ledge 12.5 meters high!

Views of Korbu can be enjoyed from the spacious observation deck,

but you can walk very close along the wide stones, as if on steps.

The inconvenience of traveling on a large ship here will be great amount tourists on a small spot, so you should prepare in advance and hurry up to get to the waterfall among the first.

tourists from the boat at the waterfall

Opposite the mouth of the Korbu River is the most deep place Lake Teletskoye is a depression 323 meters deep. There is a legend about this depression and the appearance of Lake Teletskoye.

Once upon a time, there was a large plain on the site of Lake Teletskoye, through which the Chulyshman River flowed. All the rivers that now flow into the lake flowed into it. This large fertile valley abounded in good meadows. Countless flocks of sheep, herds of cows, herds of horses grazed across the meadows. There were many animals in the taiga, and fish in the rivers.

At the head of the tribe inhabiting the valley was Khan Tele. Khan had huge wealth, but his most important asset was a magical golden sword. Khan Tele, going to war, always girded himself with this sword and never knew defeat.

Little Chile river

His neighbor, Khan Bogdo, found out about the wealth of the khan. Knowing that force cannot take possession of the golden sword, he decided to take possession of it by cunning. Tele's wife, the beautiful Chalchu, loved jewels, and Tele spoiled her with them. Khan Bogdo sent Tele all kinds of gifts and an invitation to come visit. After consulting with Chalchu, Tele accepted the invitation, unaware of Bogdo's treachery. He did not put on his golden sword, and he ordered his retinue to go without weapons, no matter how Chalchu begged him: “I am going to visit my friend, and not to the camp of enemies - I don’t need a sword!” Chalchu, holding the anxiety and apprehension in her heart, hung up the magic sword in its place.

mouth of the Koksha River

Khan Tele with a rich caravan set off on a long journey. After 10 days, he was met by the advance detachment of Bogdo. By the end of the next day, the caravan reached the tents of Bogdo. A whole army has already left to meet them. Khan Tele expected the honors due to him as a distinguished guest, but, to his surprise, he was received as a prisoner. By order of Khan Bogdo, Khan Tele and his companions were killed. At that moment, when the head of the gullible Khan Tele rolled from his mighty shoulders, the golden magic sword fell off the wall and fell. Falling, he cut the earth and went deep into the depths, forming a huge gaping abyss between the mountains. The wife of Khan Chalchu was on a rock at the edge of the abyss. She realized that she had lost her husband, and grief took possession of her. From her beautiful, radiant eyes splashed and rolled hot tears. They flowed so long and hard that the abyss overflowed and spilled into lakes.

And so that people would not forget about the perfidy of Khan Bogdo, Chalcha turned into a talkative stream. And the lake was named after the khan - Telesky (Teletsky).

the southern tip of Lake Teletskoye is covered with snow in July

Cape Chorlok (“Drop”) is visible from the parking lot in the distance. Cape Chorlok is one of the spurs of the Abakan Range.

southern part of Lake Teletskoye

After an hour of parking, the ship sets off on its return journey.

snuggling up to east coast, we slowly pass by another waterfall - Kishte.

Kishte waterfall

This 8-meter waterfall is one of the largest on Lake Teletskoye. At a depth of 20 meters from the shore, the Kishte River collapses with noise from a height. Kishte is well heard from the lake, apparently, therefore it is called "calling". Another translation of Kishte is sable.

Kishte waterfall

You can look at Kishte only from the water, as it is located on the territory of the reserve.

inspection of the Kishte waterfall only from the water

We are going to Cape Chichilgan ("Broken") (to our right). At this point, the lake turns to the west. Opposite Cape Chichilgan is a very picturesque cape Ayran ("Split Stone"). These two capes are often called the gates to the Kamginsky Bay ("Kam" - blood). The name of Cape Ayran (or Airytash - "Mountain of the Pitchfork") is due to the fact that the part most protruding into the lake is like a block that has fallen off the main massif, connected to the shore by a low isthmus. The latter is flooded at high water. Then the tip of the cape is a miniature rocky island covered with shrubs, among which several trees rise.

Cape Ayran

Kamginsky Bay is the largest bay on the lake: 6 km long, about 1 km wide, and about 40 m deep in most parts. Several rivers flow into the bay. The largest is Kamga.

Kamginsky Bay

Moving along the northern shore of the lake, we slowly return back to Iogach.

The weather is gloomy, heavy clouds are creeping over the northern part of the lake. They even descend the slopes of the mountains, hiding their peaks.

By the way, the name Teletskoye (Telesskoye, Telezhskoye) lake was given about 400 years ago by Russian pioneers, because the Turkic tribes of Teles lived on its shores. From time immemorial, local peoples have called it Altyn-Kol, the Golden Lake.

The legend about the origin of the Altai name is as follows.

... Once the gods were angry with the Altai people; the animals left the forests, the fish left the rivers and lakes; withered trees and grasses; pasture cattle died out. Toiling bees, and they did not store golden honey that year. Hunger came to the Altai land - there is nothing to throw into the cauldron, nothing to put in the mouth, nothing to give to the child.

People grieved; only one Altaian did not grieve - he had a piece of gold hidden for a rainy day, large, with a horse's head. So that rainy day came, all the food in the yurt ended, the last piece of the cake was eaten, the last sip of koumiss was finished. The Altaian looked at his wife and children, pulled out a piece of gold from a secluded corner, grunted, put it on his shoulder and went through the surrounding camps - to exchange gold for dried meat for himself, for fresh cakes for his wife, for mare's milk for children.

I walked for a long time, walked around a lot of yurts, saw a lot of people. People have no food; and if there is someone who has a piece of cake and a sip of milk, people do not want to exchange food for gold. It is beautiful, gold, brilliant, pleases the eye, gladdens the heart, but only cold and hard; you won't bite him, you won't throw him into the cauldron, you won't let the child eat. In vain the Altaian walked around the yurts, in vain he dragged a piece of gold the size of a horse's head. And when he was completely desperate, he climbed Mount Altynta, which rises above the lake, cursed his bitter life and cruel gods, and threw the gold far into the lake with a flourish. He threw it, and he jumped after it. A wave splashed, rolled onto the shores, and calmed down. And the lake has since been called Altyn-Kol - Golden.

We return to the pier in Iogach 4.5 hours after departure. On this day, the ship makes another trip (there are already much fewer passengers on it, but they were not lucky with the weather either - it was going to rain heavily, and it was getting dark right before our eyes).

Excursion on Lake Teletskoye on a boat - a leisurely walk along the near part of the lake, the opportunity to leisurely enjoy the views. There are also numerous boat trips on the lake. The price of the trip is the same, the route is slightly different - there are several stops, but you fly faster across the lake (and in heavy excitement and with less comfort).

Rest on Lake Teletskoye is first of all excursions.

You can swim more or less normally only in the south of the lake, and even then for a short time. You will hardly find any special and varied entertainment on the shore.

There are, of course, leisure and fishing, but they have a special audience, despite the fact that outdoor activities (hiking and horseback tours, ATVs, jeeping) are often combined with sightseeing.

There is also, let's call it that, an "exotic" vacation: on the cordons at the rangers (they were allowed relatively recently to let tourists into the cordon in order to somehow earn money for their own needs - gasoline, equipment repairs, etc.), in the village of Yailu and similar places - alone with nature, away from the benefits of civilization with a minimum of amenities, but such a vacation, in addition to meditation and relaxation in the fresh air and among wonderful landscapes, involves visiting local attractions.

So, whatever one may say, one cannot do without excursions on Lake Teletskoye, unlike other places Gorny Altai, where you can get yourself and see something interesting for free. Here it is almost always necessary to negotiate, hire transport - sometimes an SUV or the same horses, but most often it will be something water - a ship, a boat, a boat. Keep this in mind when you decide to rest on Teletskoye.

Excursions on Lake Teletskoye

At the height of the season, the banks of the Teletskoye, the streets of the villages, the piers resemble a disturbed anthill.

In early June, Lake Teletskoye greeted us with silence and desertion, as well as high water and paintings in the style of "You will not pass!"

Although at the same time, life on the shores was not just boiling, but quite beginning to boil: some workers were fussing, captains-tour guides were hanging around small boats, well, or their managers (who will sort them out there), someone constantly to someone called, arranged a ride for "crazy" tourists, etc.

But first we went to Iogach in the hope of getting on the Pioneer Altai, or, well, its smaller brother.

Pioneer of Altai Motor ship

"Pioneer of Altai" is a local legend. Who came here in 1968 from Moscow on his own (!!!) through the Canal. Moscow, the Volga-Baltic and White Sea-Baltic canals, the Northern Sea Route, the Ob and Biya, the ship served faithfully until the 1990s, transporting vacationers from Artybash to the mouth of the Chulyshman River on the southern shore of Lake Teletskoye.

Then hard times came, there were fewer tourists, and, accordingly, flights, and in 1997, when a major overhaul was required, the ship was simply laid up.

In 2007, Pioneer was even planned to be disposed of as a threat to the lake.

But here in 2009, the entrepreneur I.V. Yuzhakov buys an essentially rusting hull, first arranges a cafe and a cinema hall with a museum there, and in 2012/2013 decides to restore the ship as close as possible to the original, but taking into account modern requirements for such ships.

And in 2014, the Pioneer of Altai motor ship again began to carry passengers, however, now only to the Korbu waterfall.

Schedule and prices of excursions on the ship "Pioneer of Altai"

In May-June and September, excursions are held on certain days (you need to find out on the website or at the box office), in July-August - daily (departure at 12 o'clock), and on Saturdays even twice a day (at 10 and 15 o'clock).

Ticket price for 2016: adult - 1,000 rubles, children (up to 12 years old) - 500 rubles, children under 7 years old (with parents) - free of charge.

Important: At the Korbu waterfall, you will have to pay another 100 rubles for a visit. per person, not included in the ticket price.

Departure from the Iogach pier, the total length of the route is 70 km, travel time is 4.5 hours (an hour of which is parking at the Korbu waterfall).

The ship is quite comfortable, it has a cafe, a bathroom and even a cinema, although I can’t imagine who will watch a movie when there is such beauty around. There are both glazed passenger decks and open ones. The audio tour is conducted through loudspeakers, so you can hear it wherever you are on the ship at that moment.

Boat excursions

Realizing that it didn’t work out with the Pioneer of Altai (it didn’t go on the day of our arrival), we went to Artybash to study other offers, which can be found on the lake shore.

Prices for excursions

We were not interested in any walking, horseback or car excursions, so we agreed on a boat right on the pier. It cost 1200 rubles per person, plus along the way we agreed to show us another waterfall, for which we paid an additional 100 rubles.

Boats waiting for tourists

Tips:

  1. If you want to ride leisurely and comfortably, go to Pioneer Altai or a smaller boat.
  2. If you want to feel the speed and wind in your face (the boat gives out 60 km / h versus 20-30 for the ship), be closer to the lake and its environs, go ashore where the ships do not stop at all (Stone Bay, for example), then book a boat.
  3. Be sure to take something warm with you (jacket, sweater, jacket, windbreaker), it can be quite cool near the water even in summer.
  4. For personal convenience and good photos, put something on your head too (cap, bandana, scarf, etc.).
  5. Be sure to take a supply of money with you on the tour, a stop on Korba is 40 minutes (on the ship - an hour), there are souvenir shops, cafes, it is possible that you will want to buy something.

The boats are slightly different, but in general they are all quite comfortable for a 3-4 hour excursion, although some excursions on them can be much longer. There is a closed glazed "cabin" and an open "deck". Life jackets are mandatory, although I'm not sure that in the circumstances they would be of any practical use.

Perhaps the only inconvenience for some people may be the way passengers get off and on Korbu =)

I don’t know if all the captains of the boats are so knowledgeable (I don’t rule it out) or we were so lucky, but during the excursion we heard a lot of all sorts of interesting stories, stories, legends, tales, etc., I will talk about some of them below.

First of all, these are legends about the origin of the name of the lake itself, which the local peoples have long called Golden (Altyn Kel). Tourists are most often told the legend of how one local resident found a gold nugget the size of a horse's head, but in a famine year he could not exchange even a piece of bread for it, after which the upset man threw this ingot from the mountain into the lake, after which it became known as Golden. The mountain, by the way, also received the name Golden - Altyn Tuu.

We leave the "port" of two villages. In the distance you can see the bridge from which Biya originates.

On the way, we met a ferry plying between the northern and southern shores (7 hours of travel, by the way).

One of the cordons on the right, protected, shore of Lake Teletskoye. Recently, local rangers have been allowed to let tourists in. Conditions are very modest, but some like it. And it is quite cheap (about 500 rubles per day per person).

Rock exits. If I'm not mistaken, local granite, which they even wanted to use in the construction of the Moscow metro, but the granite turned out to be too soft for this. In general, it was replaced by granite from Chemal.

One of the two small islands of Lake Teletskoye is the Island of Love. They say that it got its name due to the fact that from above its shape resembles a heart, and also due to the fact that you can sail between the island and the shore only on a small boat designed for two people =)

The village of Yailyu is one of the oldest villages in the vicinity of Teletskoye (it was formed in 1812, although the Cossacks set up a prison here 150 years before the official date of foundation). Since 1932, the base of the Altai State Administration has been located here. nature reserve, and since 1965 - Teletskaya lake station for scientific observations of the lake.

There are no camp sites here, but you can stay at local residents you just need to register. Excursions to the nearest waterfalls can be organized for you. South coast lakes, well, in general - they will tell and show a lot of interesting things.

And there is also a unique microclimate that allows you to grow fruits up to apricots and even grapes in a natural environment without greenhouses.

A bit of local beauty.

Waterfall Kishte

The Kishte waterfall is the first of 3 waterfalls that we saw on the lake.

The height of the water fall is 8 meters. You can’t go ashore near the waterfall, you can only look from the water, and the boat can come much closer to the waterfall than motor ships.

Rough rocks.

Korbu Waterfall

Perhaps the most famous and "promoted" of the 70 waterfalls of Lake Teletskoye. Available good infrastructure: pier, marketplace, observation deck, etc.

Mooring for several boats. The boat can also stop here.

Since this is the territory of the reserve, there will be a lot of background information.

Tea room and souvenirs.

We pay 100 rubles and we go to the waterfall, the noise of which is heard long before we see it. Along the way, we periodically meet information about the local flora.

We approach the observation deck, the waterfall is already visible.

View of the waterfall from the observation deck. The height of the water fall is 12.5 meters. During the period of high water (flood, rains), spray from the waterfall can reach right up to the observation deck, personally verified =)

If you wish, you can go down from the observation deck and come closer along the stones. The spectacle is much more impressive. In the summer, in the heat, some even swim here.

Right next to the waterfall is the Visitor Center, where you can buy souvenirs and learn something interesting if you have time, because parking is only 40 minutes. At first it seemed that this was too much, in the end we barely met the allotted time.

Waterfall Ayu-Kechpes

We agreed to visit this waterfall for an additional fee in excess of the prescribed "small circle". Needless to say, it was worth it.

This is one of the largest waterfalls on the lake. It is cascading, the fall of water, according to the guide, starts from a height of about 120 meters. The upper part of the waterfall can only be seen from afar.

Up close, only the lower part is visible, the upper part is covered by trees. By the way, you can only cross the river here below, although tourists are not allowed to land on the shore. It is impossible to cross anywhere above, hence the name of the river and the waterfall - Ayu-Chekpes, "The bear will not pass."

Road back

Opposite Korbu, on the opposite shore, one could see another waterfall - Chedor, with a fall height of 8 meters, at the same time go through the place with the deepest lake (325 meters), but our fellow travelers did not agree with the additional expenses, so we had to turn back.

A little more Teletskaya beauty:

An interesting sight along the way is a sleeping dragon. And indeed, if you look closely, it looks like.

stone bay

Another famous local attraction. According to one version - a trace from the fall of a meteorite, according to another - the result of the activity of ancient glaciers.

There is also a local legend about a duel between a hero and a one-eyed giant, during which the hero gouged out the giant's eye, and he, thinking that he had grabbed the hero, actually pulled out a mighty cedar from the ground, traces of which we observe today.

Details

This publication aims to get acquainted with how tourism was organized in the USSR. Here are the various routes, the element of which included Lake Teletskoye. Of course, our publication does not claim to cover all routes completely. This is just some part of them. As new information becomes available, the article will expand.

From the routes of 1935

From the Obogo forestry, a logging road began, leading through a small wooded pass to the valley. Following it, tourists ended their movement in, located on the shore of Lake Teletskoye opposite the village. Artybash.

From the routes of 1984

A new experimental route 377 is being introduced (oncoming route 77). The 416th route is starting to work again - "to Lake Teletskoye".

There is an option for rafting down the Biya from Lake Teletskoye for unprepared tourists with experience on inflatable boats.

Tents have been preserved only in the parking lot in Chulyshman - on the southern tip of Lake Teletskoye. Here the paths of tourists of several routes intersect. For those who rest in the shelter on Chulyshman, a bicycle route has been introduced.
