Zell am See - Kaprun
The European Sports Region (Europa-Sportregion), which includes the resorts of Zell am See, Piesendorf and Kaprun, is located in the northern part of the Austrian Alps. Saalbach - Hinterglemm
The charming Alpine villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm are located in the picturesque Glemmtal valley, only 4 km from each other. Together with Leogang, they form one of the largest sports regions in Austria, called the Ski Circus. A variety of well-equipped and interconnected trails invariably maintains interest in the resorts and contributes to the rapid growth of their popularity among skiers of all skill levels.
The snow cover here is guaranteed from the end of December to the end of March, and the elevation difference is 1003-2100 m. Gastein Valley
The Gastein Valley (consists of the resorts Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein and Sportgastein) is one of the largest thermal centers of Salzburg and a renowned ski region. This and unique mineral springs, the famous radon galleries in the Radhausberg mountain, beautiful waterfall in the center of Bad Gastein, which never freezes, modern hotels for every taste, elevation difference 859-2246 m, stable snow cover, good placement of ski lifts (19 in total), rather difficult, but at the same time long and comfortable slopes (including cross-country) with a length of 81 km, which are suitable even for beginner skiers.
Bad Gastein, stretched in the form of a horseshoe in a mountain gorge, is located at an altitude of about 1000 m above sea level. The resort is distinguished by multi-storey stone buildings built in the 18th-19th centuries.
Mountain sports and balneological resort town Bad Hofgastein is located just 7 km from Bad Gastein, it is more modern and democratic, but provides the same conditions for skiing, relaxation and treatment at healing springs.
Dorfgastein is one of the five sports and health resorts in the Gastein Valley. Compared to Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein, skiing is more pronounced here, but there is also a large spa complex here. Sölden & Otztal
The Otztal valley in Tyrol is famous for its perfect snow cover, which falls already in November. The main advantage of the region is a picturesque and diverse landscape: flat sections of the valley are replaced by steep gorges with mountain rivers, forested slopes are glaciers shining in the sun. Here are concentrated some of the largest mountains in Austria with a height of more than 3000 m, providing year-round skiing, as well as many cozy towns: Sölden, Lengenfeld, Hochgurgl, Obergurgl, Otz, Amhausen and others.
Sölden is a recognized European center of mountaineering and skiing, a favorite place for snowboarders. Every year, the number of ultra-modern ski lifts increases here and new slopes are mastered, as well as the stages of the Alpine Skiing World Cup.
The ancient town of Lengenfeld is the first and today the only thermal resort in Tyrol, 12 km from Sölden. The healing properties of the local hot sulphurous spring were known as early as the 16th century. Mayrhofen & Zillertal
The Ziller Valley is one of the largest ski areas, with more than 500 km of slopes and about 150 lifts. The climate here is milder compared to other areas of West Tyrol.
The valley is divided into 4 large ski regions: Region 1, Zillertal Arena region, Mayrhofen region and Glacier World Zillertal 3000. Popular resorts Fugen, Kaltenbach, Zell am Ziller, Mayrhofen, Hippach and others are located at an altitude of 550 to 1500 m. The Zillertal offers guests 489 km of pistes and 177 modern lifts. There is only one ski pass in the valley. The Zillertal trains run regularly between the resorts. railway and tourist buses. Mayrhofen is the most famous, largest and most cheerful resort in the entire Ziller Valley.
Mayrhofen is known as the most youthful resort in the valley. Here is the longest cable car, the steepest descent in Austria and three main ski areas in the valley. Skiers have chosen the local slopes of Penken and Ahorn. The Erlebnisbad water park is located in Mayrhofen.

The elevation difference on the slopes is 1,100 meters, and the highest point is at an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level. The longest track is 7 kilometers long and has a vertical drop of 1,020 meters. There are about sixty lifts.

Zell am See - Kaprun
The resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun are located ninety kilometers from Salzburg and each of them has its own characteristics. The city of Zell am See is located on the lake, at an altitude of 760 meters above sea level, and offers not only a wide selection of ski slopes, but also a variety of additional entertainment. Here you can have a great rest, both with a large company and with the whole family, together with children, and rest in this place can be cheaper than in other resorts in Austria. At the same time, there is a railway connection with other cities, so that ski holidays can be diversified with interesting excursions. The small village of Kaprun is located half an hour from Zell am See, at an altitude of 786 meters, in the glacier area. Zell am See has ski slopes with a total length of 75 kilometers and with a vertical drop of 1,240 meters, and highest point located at an altitude of 2,000 meters. On the glacier near the resort of Kaprun, there are about 40 kilometers of trails with a vertical drop of 2.243 meters, and the highest point is at around 3.029 meters above sea level. The ski slopes of the resorts are served by fifty lifts. The longest trails are about 7 kilometers long and have a height difference of about 1,000 meters.

Bad Gastein, located at an altitude of 830 meters, is widely known not only as an excellent place for skiing, but also as a balneological resort, healing properties thermal springs which perfectly complement the ski holiday. A variety of interesting trails, including quite difficult ones, are a distinctive feature of the Bad Gastein resort. In total, the resorts of Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein have about 170 kilometers of trails with a vertical drop of 1,856 meters, with the highest point located at an altitude of 2,686 meters above sea level. The Pitztal is a ski resort famous for its glaciers and excellent skiing conditions. Here skiers will find about 129 km. trails of different difficulty levels, and you can ride on the glaciers from September to May.
The region includes three ski areas - Hochzeiger (1450-2450 m), Rifflsee (1680-2880 m) and Pitztaler-Gletscher (1740-3440 m), the last two have a single ski pass. You can also purchase a PitzRegioCard ski pass, which is valid in all ski areas of the Pitztal valley and on the lifts of the High Imst. The free shuttle takes guests anywhere in the Pitztal.
At the beginning of the valley, above the village of Jerzens, there is the largest ski area in the region - Hochzeiger. This is 40 km of various slopes, 9 lifts, a height difference of 1000 m. Trails of medium difficulty prevail here. There are opportunities for freestyle, extreme and off-piste skiing. There is a snowpark for snowboarders. There is also a 6 km illuminated toboggan run.
The lifts to the glacier and to the Rifflsee ski area are located at the very end of the valley, near the village of Mandarfen (1675 m), which is administratively part of locality Saint Leonhard. The total length of the slopes of these ski areas is 41 km, they are served by 12 lifts. There are many difficult beautiful red slopes (40 km) and a snow park with various obstacles and time measurements. There are suitable trails for beginners. The Rifflsee ski area is equipped with a special children's chair lift.
In the Pitztal ski resort, travelers are given the opportunity to try a variety of entertainment. Lake Wörth is the largest lake in the Carinthian region. On its banks there are several resort towns connected by water tram routes. In summer, the water temperature in the lake reaches +25 +27 degrees Celsius. Tourists come to Wörthsee to swim, play golf, and also see the Cheppaslucht waterfalls, Hochosterwitz castle, the capital of the region - Klagenfurt and the Kartti abbeys with monasteries.
The Wildschönau Valley, uniting four picturesque villages, located in Tyrol, 75 km from Innsbruck, 115 km from Munich, 130 km from Salzburg and 360 km from Zurich. Since December 16, 2012, the Wildschönau ski area has been connected to the Alpbachtal ski area in the new Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau ski area.

In the very south of Austria, in the Carnic Alps, there is one of the ten most popular ski resorts in the country - Nassfeld. This is the sunniest ski area in Austria, with an average of 100 more hours of sunshine during the winter season than in other regions. The resort is located on the border with Italy, and some slopes lead straight to the border. The elevation difference here is 1300–2020 m.
